THANK YOU. Here is a stunning and very desirable approximately 150 year old antique Japanese small Choba tansu. Or merchant's chest, dating from the Meiji Era around the mid to late 1800's, featuring a lock bar in the center and classical safe compartment at the bottom right. It boasts a natural light colour with a rich honey patina, beautifully shaped hand forged iron hardware, wood peg construction and 8 drawers of various sizes that provide versatile storage options including a full width drawer at the top. It is in excellent overall condition for it's age. But has a little lock issue: as there is no key and the top drawer lock is in the closed position with the drawer open it will not shut all the way. The safe compartment has a tendency to swing open by itself since there is no key to lock it. The lock issue does NOT affect the lock bar which slides in and out of place properly. Please read the description and examine the photos for more details on the condition. Locksmiths and larger antique dealers will own sets of multiple keys to fit a broad range of locks so you should be able to get the drawer unlocked easily enough so it slides into place. With a little patience you could also find an antique key that fits right here on ebay(I can recommend a seller who regularly stocks this type of item) Other small issues worth noting are a small repair in the bottom corner of the smallest drawer just above the safe compartment. The larger top drawer is stiff to open and close due to age and needs a tweak, and one corner plate in the back is bent out of shape. Given it's age there is some wearing off of the blackening of a few small spots of the iron, and a couple of small nails are missing. Very unusual domed Trunk Treasure Chest that sits on its own metal stand that has paw feet The trunk can remove from stand as shown and be used separately The basic chest is constructed of wood that has been painted however the front and top are encased in sheets of embossed metal. Nice antique claw foot copper and cedar lined blanket chest. Made by Paine furniture company in Boston Massachusetts. It's in good condition. It has some scratches and dings here and there. It has the numbers 49-224-1015 painted on the bottom. Also has the number 12 stamped on the back. There is a sticker on the back that says Bekins pc no 207 looks like an auction sticker to me. The lock is stamped with 129- T7. Made between 1928-1943.

This Antique Pirate/ Ship Trunk is in great condition outside and is in excellent condition inside. I actually just refinished the inside by removing the old paper mounted inside and primed it with Kilz Paint and then painted the inside with a very nice light cream color. It has a removable inside shelf with two dividers( one divider is removable) It measures 36 1/4" long. 21 1/4" deep and 12 1/4" high. The removable shelf is 4" high. This is super clean as you can tell by the pics. It dose not have a key. It has two side latches that keep it closed up tight. Primitive Wooden Trunk, Toolbox or Chest
Perfectly imperfect- it is full of primitive. Shabby character! I brought it home, cleaned(scrubbed) it, sanded it, painted it milk black, rubbed some of the edges and oiled it and then cleaned and painted the interior a fresh, crisp aqua. It has been tucked below the black cabinet(now seen resting on the floor) which had been supported by beefy candlesticks for legs. I have decided to part with this little beauty because of the new configuration(hey, I can only stack so high! It measures about 25 1/2" long(or wide) and is 15" front to back. It stands roughly 9"10" high(slightly higher if you include the handle on top) The hinges and hardware(including the chunky, utilitarian handle) are original to the piece(as far as I can tell- I have not altered them) It also came with the chain inside to keep the lid from falling ... morebackwards when opened(and I have left that in place as well) This provides WONDERFUL storage books(we kept photos, photo albums, dictionaries, etcetera tucked out-of-sight in it) blankets, toys, etcetera. It's not so horribly deep that things are buried at the bottom never to be seen again! I did adhere fuzzy, felt feet to the bottom to protect the hardwood floor.

Antique Mahogany Gentleman's Chest with Brass Hardware
There's not too much known about this peculiar box other than the name on the inside says"Exeter Change Strand London- Clark. Research indicates it was possibly Thomas Clark who resided in the Exeter Change of London from the 1750's to 1780's. This is believed to've a Gentleman's Chest that appears very old but may have been refurbished with the Red Felt inlay. The box has a secret pull pin slide out drawer on the side. A ring from a cup on top and a slight crack on the interior lid. The corners have a brass reinforcement and the sides are adorned with very unique looking Gargoyles. The Chest measures approx. 22 inches long. 12 inches wide and about 11 inches tall to the peak on the hump top. The chest is very old constructed with dove tail corners. Somewhere all the road someone lined it with old wall paper. That paper is also old as there are areas where it is coming off and very worn. It would make a nice project for someone to re line the inside with different vintage paper. There are many old age cracks and repairs. Antique Blanket Chest (wooden hinge) hand crafted, hand forged nails? 6 plank
I am not an expert in antique furniture and I will try to describe the little blanket chest to the best of my ability. The measurements are 31" X 16" X 17" The exterior of the piece show wear with nicks around the base. The top was originally a solid plank but has been repaired in the past to keep the plank from cracking more. What is so unique about this piece is the wooden hinge system it has. Clearly this piece was handcrafted. On the inside you can see the panel has been tooled maybe by hand? The pins and nails used(with the exception of the newer repairs) appear to be hand forged. The bottom is removable in two pieces not sure if the two pieces were originally joined together at one time. The piece has been oiled and no other attempts have been made to restore this. I do not know the date of this item nor do I know the ... moretype of wood used in making this chest. If anyone knows more about this piece I would love to find out more information. We purchased this 19th Century Antique Needlepoint Chest in an auction sponsored by the PBS public channel 13 back in 1984. We were the“lucky” ones to won the bid and since then we have cherished it with passion. We have it in our living room and used it as a bar over a pair of wooden pedestals. The display was just a breath taker! We can’t possibly count how many compliments or conversations we had over it. It breaks our heart to sell it but we must downs-size: It’s also almost impossible to properly describe it. It won’t do it justice. This is a beautiful hip truck. The leather handles are missing as shown in the one photo. It has wheels on the bottom. The inside shows some stains but is very nice. No key. We purchased this beautiful old blanket chest at an estate sale(Centennial Farm. Jackson County) in Brooklyn, Michigan from the family. The chest is all original just like we bought it. The chest has the original blue paint and is made of all pine wood. The hinges are good as well as the lock(no key)see last picture of lock) The chest is hand planed(see pic.11) with a one board top, front, sides and bottom. The feet are separate pieces from the other boards. The measurements are 43 1/4" wide, 17 1/4" deep and 22 3/4" high(tall) There are 2 names on the boards as you can see in the pictures. One is Sidney McKee? and the other is L.G. Picket. I think I looked at them several times. If anyone can identify the names better please do so. I acquired this flat top antique trunk at an auction. I have not tried to clean it as I do not want to ruin the integrity of the trunk. It is made of wood and covered with canvas with metal straps. The left leather handle is broken and the right one is intact. However they are extremely fragile so I would suggest that they not be used to pick up the trunk. There are pieces on the front with the buckle. There is a small hole in the top of the trunk. Please look closely at the pictures as they are part of the description. I bought this chest in an antique store in Connecticut according to the seller that piece is from England but it could be an early New England piece and it's over 100 years old. Condition: one hinge is broken. One hinge is loose and the molding is starting to separate from one corner of the lid(see pictures) The cover(lid) has some scratches on it. 1950's Vintage Cedar Lined Hope Chest Locker Copper Bindings Accents
Nice vintage cedar lined wood hope chest/foot locker. Has interesting copper bindings/accents. My dad owned this for many years. He used it as a coffee table. I remember it from at least the 70's as a kid. Was used for vhs storage to give you an idea of how long it's been in the family! Has the usual patina. I didn't clean it. Just wiped it down. Antique Chest- Cabinet- Beveled Edge Circular Mirrors-Scroll Work
I acquired this unique piece of antique furniture at an estate sale in Charlotte. NC. It is most unusual and I personally, after much research, have been unable to locate another one like it. Therefore, I am unable to give it a proper'name' The antique is solid. Sturdy and is in very good condition. There have been a few minor repairs to the delicate scroll work but they may not even be noticeable in the photos. The 3 circular mirrors are made with beveled edge glass and are encased in wood. There is a beveled edge mirrored door that has a lock and original key. Inside are 3 removable shelves and with the bottom space. You have 4 shelves inside to store linens, sheet music, plates, silverware, etc. On the right side are two exterior shelves that are surrounded with detailed scroll work.
