I am not positive of the boxes origin but I believe this is Folk Art. There ... moreare hand painted tulips on the edges and hand painted white flowers used in early American art. The measurements are 17 inches wide or long. 9 1/2 inches in height, and 7 1/2 inches deep. The chest/ Box weighs 11 pounds. It does have wear which is to be expected for it's age. The paint on the flowers have faded in some places, there are a few cracks on the wood, one is on the bottom(does not go all the way through, and one is on the inside of the lid. Wood shrinks with age and cracks are normal. There are a few places where wood has chipped off(one on the foot) the lock is missing and there is a heavy patina especially the places that would get the most use(by the handles. The front side has a darker patina(see 2nd picture) than the back side, it was probably sitting up against a wall and was covered on the top. The feet did have felt pads at one time. The rivets(or nails) are old type nails. It is made very well, it is very heavy and sturdy and it closes fine. It is a very beautiful piece whatever its origin is and the paint job is intricate and looks like it was very time consuming. Please email with any questions I will be glad to help. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. The brass-plated lock(see bottom left corner of picture provided) also measures about 3.5" from left to right. Across its widest dimension, and has the maker's logo, in the shape of a key and name"ORBIN" the best I can make this out) imprinted below the key hole. Although we don't have a key for the lock, it"opens" by pushing down on the brass colored"button" Found immediately above the key hole. A key is not included. The 2nd trunk. Or chest, handle(see top-most item in center of picture provided) measures about 3.5" from left to right and 2.75" from top to bottom. The 4th item offered for auction. Fabulous Vintage Indian Wedding/Dowry Chest
Found at the famous Marche Aux Puces(Flea Market) in Paris in the 70's by a woman furnishing her Paris apartment. This authentic Indian wedding/dowry chest was acquired from the woman's estate when all of her furnishings(and her Yves St. Laurent couture) were shipped back to Marin County upon her death. Dimensions are 38" high with wheels. 30" high without wheels, 27" wide, 46" long. The chest is 50+ years old, probably more. Fantastic statement in an entry. Functional for storage in any room in the house, Wonderful in any interior for sure! Please look at all photos. There are some issues but nothing a little TLC would fix right up. Rare opportunity! Large wood 6 drawer antique flat file cabinet or chest. Ideal for storing(flat down) art work. Architectural drawings, surveyor papers, maps, blueprints, etc. All wood except for leather inlay on top and the metal drawer pulls(appears to have the original pulls on drawers) The drawers are dovetailed. The chest measures approximately 44 inches wide, 39 inches tall, and 32 1/2 inches deep. There are 6 drawers, each measuring approximately 41 1/2 inches wide, 5 inches tall, and 32 inches deep. I am not sure what wood was used to make this- the wood has what I would call a walnut or mahogany hue to it on the outside surfaces, which have been stained sometime in the past. I do not know when this was made- my guess would be sometime in the first half of the 20th century. It is made well. A very impressive and classy piece. None of the trim is loose. Tray is solid, all the joints in the corners are solid. Left and right top were stripped as follows. Partially restored to test the integrity. Top Extreme Left and Right Sides has some type of thin planks that cover the chest top yet in the middle. They appeared very frayed so they were stripped off. It brought up a strong smell of Cedar. The entire box, it was filthy, was sanded lightly inside and out. I only sanded around the Pinup girls. I found NO bugs, not even one while doing this, that was my main concern. The Leather handle fell apart but the the ends had to be unscrewed from the luggage. See the front, those will be enclosed with the screws. Antique 10 Drawer Hinged Lid Montgomery Ward Seed Tool Storage Chest Cabinet Box
This is an unusual antique 10 drawer chest with an additional compartment in the top under the hinged lid. I originally thought it might have been used for tools. But I found an old seed sales tag from 1944 on the inside for Wards Shady Lawn Seed Mix and a tag from the Department of Agriculture in St. Paul, MN(included) The side of the chest is marked Montgomery Ward& Co, Winona, MINN, so I believe it could have been used for seeds. It measures 24" L x 13" W x 31" H. Some of the drawers have a hole drilled through the bottom toward the front edge(visible in the 11th photo, looking down at open drawers) The lid has a latch on the front so it can be locked. All drawer hardware looks original. It is in very good condition overall. Joints are tight, and nothing is loose or broken but there are a few small chips missing from ... morethe wood. The finish on the lid and around the top is quite scuffed and there are some visible dings and shallow gouges, but the aged patina is fantastic. The drawers, sides, and back have a lighter finish and are in very good condition with some light scuffs and a few paint splashes and marks. The inside of the drawers have some dusty residue, but the majority of the chest is clean overall. It will be packed very well and insured during shipping. Nested Chests. This Unique. Lovely set features three nested chests. The largest measures 13" deep x 19" wide x 15" tall. The inner chests are in very good condition. The outer chest has some trim wood missing and a split in the top(see photos 4& 5) These chests are well crafted. They are made of wood with lovely fruit paintings, felt lined, with metal hinges, handle and clasps. I am no antique expert, but these were part of an estate sale that featured several early 1900 pieces.

Vintage Shaker style Cherry or Maple Drawers Accent piece Chest- Wonderful!
I do not deal in antiques so will describe this piece in as much detail as possible. It is a small chest of drawers which I believe is made from maple or cherry but I am not certain. It does match the cherry dropleaf table it sits on. It is heavy weighing 12 pounds 15 ounces. It was handmade by a woodworker named G Roth and has been in our family for many years. My grandmother said she found it in a shoppe in upstate NY. The drawers are all notched into one another and the chest is put together by pegs of wood. You can see in the pictures. The backer board does have some headless nails holding it on and there is an old green piece of flannel or felt on the bottom. It has a wonderful patina and feels smooth on the outside. The drawers fit exactly in their compartments. Any wear is age related but there are no big gouges or scratches. Please ... moreask any questions and I will take more pictures.
