There is a key provided for the desk portion which just aids in opening the desk and doesn't work the lock.The bookcase portion offers three adjustable shelves that each measure 41 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches deep which provides ample display opportunities for books and collectibles.This secretary breaks down into two pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. This Victorian secretary has a commanding presence and is full of character and features an abundance of fine details.
