this amazing iron and wood‘new peabody’ 1900s vintage school desk is an amazing design piece. it works so well as a chair with a readymade side table all-in-one. the inkwell hole is perfect to thread the lamp cord through and out of sight and the seat folds up to be out of the way when you don’t need it. the desk is in great shape with the only flaw is a crack in the iron on the back under the desktop. Pencil trays and cubby holes, manufactured by the O&SF Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota sometime between the late 1800s/early 1900s. These solid built desks were meant to stand the test of time. The wood finish appears to be original and in good shape for its age. The cast iron base is ornate, but strong and heavy.
