Antique School Desk and Chair Adjustable Metal Legs Wood Top Kenney & Wolkins
Charming antique school desk and chair. Made by Kenney Bros. and Wolkins of Boston. MA, this set has nuts in the supports to allow for each piece to have its height adjusted. The legs of the desk and pedestal of the chair are black painted metal and have holes for securing them to the floor. The desk top and seat of the chair look like they are made of maple. The inside of the desk has been painted a soft green color and there is a hole in the desk top for holding an inkwell. This desk dates from sometime between 1902(when Kenney Bros. and Wolkins merged) and 1930, which is when the company changed its name and discontinued furniture making. The desk and chair are both in very good condition. Although these pieces were obviously put to their intended use. There is some wear to the surfaces, including marks on the desk top and edge and a gouge ... morenear the top of the desk. See pictures. It also looks like an industrous student carved their initials in the side of the desk. There is also some hairline separation to the seat of the chair at the back. Unsure if the height adjustment is functional- it has been many years since it was used and may need some TLC. Otherwise no damage or repairs. The desk top is 24" long and 18" wide and at its pictured height the desk stands 29" tall. The chair is 16" wide and has a seat that is 13 1/4" deep. It stands 30" tall at its current height. It could use some paint. The Maple Plywood seat needs re-finishing, and a solid top to replace the Manufactured top would be nice. That project is for you or another. The depth of the back filing section of this desk is 13" Deep and app. 46" wide. This desk is much different than any that I have seen. It is a desk. With hutch that sits on top and is held in place with 4 dowels, one of which is broken. The desk has 12 drawers all of which are original and work. There are no guides, they slide on the wood. The drawer locks that hold the other drawers shut/locked all work and are not broken in any manner. The locks on the drawers do work but some how I have managed to lose the keys to this desk. The hutch has 4 drawers 16"cubby holes" for storage and one pencil holder drawer on the right and only ... morethe front piece of the left pencil holder. Beautiful Roll Top Desk w/ Matching chair
Roll top desk comes with matching chair. Both refinished in Annie Sloan chalk paint. Hand waxed with clear wax, then dark wax was applied to give it an antique look, 2 more coats of clear wax were then applied, all hand buffed. I did all of the work myself and all by hand. Seventy-five to one hundred hours of my time was spent on this desk! For those of you that aren't familiar with"chalk paint"it is the newest paint out there and is used for all"shabby chic" projects. I had to order it online. I was going for the"shabby chic" look, but couldn't bring myself to add flaws because it turned out so beautiful! Medium Gray on outside w/ Deep Red on the inside. This is a beautiful Chinese carved wood slant front writing desk with matching chair. We do not know how old it is. Nor who made it; there is one very much like it-same size, shape, hardware, little more carving-listed on Ebay, but I don't believe this one was made in the 1800's. It is very solid and very, very heavy. The Chair has a cushion on it and is also very solid and very heavy. The carving is on the front and both sides of the desk, and on the chair, as seen in the photos. All the feet on both chair and desk are carved at the bottom. Below the writing area, there are two pullout drawers. The desk measures about 42 inches high, 38 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. As with the other writing desk we listed. This is a pick up item. Antique Vintage Roll Top Tambour Desk with Chair.
An older an HEAVY rolltop desk. The rough measurements are 5ft by 2/12ft by 4ft. Some chips on the corners but overall in great condition. Has a lock and key for one of the drawers and a lock for the roll top part. I dont have the key for that lock so I took it off but it comes with the desk. Lovely child's roll top desk and swivel chair. The desk is very sturdy. It looks like a side panel has been replaced; but unsure. It doesn't seem to be the same color on both sides of the desk(see photo) The wood also needs refinishing. There are no breaks. Cracks or dings. Measures: 33" high x 23" long x 15" wide and the top piece is 5-1/2" wide. There are two drawers and they measure 6" wide x 4-1/2" deep each. The kneehole measures 22" high x 14" wide. The swivel chair also has no breaks, cracks or dings. It does need some tightening only. The swivel works perfectly. Italian Inlaid Burl Fruitwood Slant Fall Front Desk and Matching Chair
Continental slant or fall front desk. Made with intricate inlaid marquetry featuring burl fruit woods. This small decorative piece was likely intended as a ladies' writing desk. The fall front opens to a writing surface(that has a water stain) four drawers, and a compartment with a door. There are two doors below the writing surface each with scroll work inlay and ornate meta pulls, that open to a storage space with a shelf. The left front leg was broken and was repaired The desk has no other breaks or visible repairs. Only minimal wear and crackling to the surfaces consistent with age and use. Nice drop down secretary desk. There is not much of the tag left on the back which reads Herzog Furniture Co. Michigan. It does have nicks in the finish, no deep scratches and the key for the small inside compartment is missing. Very sturdy. The desk is 24-1/2" wide, 39-1/2" tall and 15" deep. Antique 5' wide Oak Roll Top Desk and leather upholstered swivel oak chair
Lovely Oak Roll Top Desk with Oak Chair with leather upholstery. You can tell from the photos there are some scratches and wear on the leather seat of the chair. The cloth underneath the roll top part is starting to show signs of wear and could be developing a split on the left side. The desk comes apart into pieces for moving. Have owned for 25 years and used daily. Photos taken with and without flash to show off the warm oak colors.
