This is one really cool piece of history! There are ink wells and pencil cutouts for seven people/employees. It is straight on one side and curved on the other side. It works find on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works find on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. Up for auction is this really sweet. Solid oak, double pedestal roll top desk. It is in 100% original condition and finish. It measures 42" wide by 26" deep and 49" high. It has some issues that I consider minor but are reflected in the price. There are some scratches on the bottom of the right pedestal which need to be sanded and stained. There is also some separation on the left hand side of the desk top. All of the drawers and the roll top itself work flawlessly. The interior has cubbies with two oak drawers. Measuring approximately 32 inches deep, 49.5 inches wide, and 49.5 inches tall, there is a center drawer, 4 drawers on the left, and 3 drawers on the right. Though the pictures show 4 drawers on the right, the bottom is actually the depth of two drawers along with a center divider. Additionally, 2 of the drawers on the left feature pre-cut slots for ease in separation of your possessions. Previously used and very well loved, it is important to note that the center drawer has had the bottom replaced. This is shown in one of the pictures. With a smooth working roll style top that reveals numerous compartments along with two smaller ... moredrawers, there is no key. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Navy Machinist's Standing Desk
This is an old solid oak standing desk workbench taken from off a Navy ship. It was used by a machinist. There is a center drawer that pulls out with a tightly woven heavy cotton cloth base that was used to catch the little parts as the machinist was repairing.whatever needed repair. There is a lip around three sides to prevent items from falling off. Two top drawers. Three smaller drawers on either side. Wonderful carved legs. An awesome piece.
