Up for auction is what appears to be an old short footed slant front desk. Measures approx 23"L x 17 3/4"w x 15 1/4"h and weighs around 10-12lbs guestimated. Shows some wear and seperations here and there but solid. Lid clasp intact and functional. Nice little desk that is quite portable due to small size and and light weight! Antique Chinese Slant Drop Front Writing Desk w/Chair, Carved, Beautiful
This is a beautiful Chinese carved wood slant front writing desk with matching chair. We do not know how old it is. Nor who made it; there is one very much like it-same size, shape, hardware, little more carving-listed on Ebay, but I don't believe this one was made in the 1800's. It is very solid and very, very heavy. The Chair has a cushion on it and is also very solid and very heavy. The carving is on the front and both sides of the desk, and on the chair, as seen in the photos. All the feet on both chair and desk are carved at the bottom. Below the writing area, there are two pullout drawers. The desk measures about 42 inches high, 38 inches wide, and 16 inches deep. As with the other writing desk we listed. This is a pick up item. Walnut Slant Front Fold Down Desk Now being offered for your bidding pleasure. A walnut slant front fold down desk. Desk is in very good condition. The dimensions of the desk are 45" tall x 30" wide x 17" deep. The one thing I found on it is that there are a couple of small pieces of veneer missing from the edge of the fold down desk front. My Mom had bought this desk back in 1990 and I think the pieces were missing then. There is also a small white smug on the front of the bottom drawer,that is a smug of white paint. My Mom apparently put it there by accident while painting something else. I do have the key for the lock for the desk top but the lock itself does not work. I do not know who manufactured the desk or how old it is. Therefore, the desk is being offered as-is. The usual Ebay etiquette applies here. I accept PayPal ... moreand other ways. Italian Inlaid Burl Fruitwood Slant Fall Front Desk and Matching Chair
Continental slant or fall front desk. Made with intricate inlaid marquetry featuring burl fruit woods. This small decorative piece was likely intended as a ladies' writing desk. The fall front opens to a writing surface(that has a water stain) four drawers, and a compartment with a door. There are two doors below the writing surface each with scroll work inlay and ornate meta pulls, that open to a storage space with a shelf. The left front leg was broken and was repaired The desk has no other breaks or visible repairs. Only minimal wear and crackling to the surfaces consistent with age and use. Please examine the pictures provided. I will supply additional pictures if requested. The desk is 35" tall. 34" wide, and 17" deep. The matching chair is in very good condition. The cushion needlepoint was replaced about 25 years ... moreago. My parents purchased this set in Italy in in the mid 1950's. When my father was stationed in Italy, I do not know its age.
