They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. This Cutler-style desk is a beautiful vintage artifact that is still in perfect working condition and would make a handsome centerpiece to any study or home-office. Canvas underside of rolltop is intact. Supple and flexible. Two beautiful ornate vintage keys in place to lock rolltop. This desk feels comfortably well used but shows none of the negative effects of that over-a-century of use. Richly waxed finish still shines and shows off the handsome grain of the wood. Interiors of drawers are unwaxed and some drawer interiors exhibit the marks and ink-stains of that long tenure of use. But all drawers slide easily and smoothly, the same way the rolltop rolls open and closed. Any hesitation on any drawer is easily rectified with a gentle stroke of a bar of soap on the drawer-rail. Rolltop key-locks with a lovely practical key and the cleverly designed interior mechanism of the desk locks the drawers shut when the roll-top is down. This listing offers the child's roll top desk. Since I'm uncertain of the age. I won't mislead anyone. I was told it was late 19th century, but again, please judge from the pictures. Also included are a pair of hinges from the same desk. The supports seem to be made of iron. One of them needs to be put in a vice in order to loosen the square nut from the screw. Otherwise. It's all there. The supports are just under a foot in length when fully opened. There is a number"94" stamped on one leg. Pivots show a bit of wear. But they are the real deal. The piece appears to have been painted at some time in the dim past, and residual paint is present on everything. Hinges are plain metal. Great for a period correct restoration. So. Up for Auction is my Antique Child's School Desk. The frame is made of tubular steel and angle iron with curved out Maple wood seat and swivel upper lumbar support. Great Patina on this unit. This desk also has an additional under seat metal storage for books. The chair is 27 inches tall with the seat being 13 x 14inches. The side box measures 12 x 12 x 6.5 inches. No maker's mark. The Condition is Used. Someone went crazy scratching the pencil rest area on top of the desk. There is also some cream paint droplets. Not scuff or chips on the wood. To me it shows the age. Antique Lion Duplicator Silk Screen Oil Set - Vintage
This is a Lion Duplicator oil ink silk screen set. I think this is also called a replicator or menucator; this is how they made copies back in the day. It looks like everything is in working order and it still has some of the original ink. This wood is in great condition and all of the hinges and metal/brass parts seem to be in good condition. I'm not sure how it works. But it seems that you would use some type of blotting paper to replicate documents; kind of an old-school copy machine or printer. I have cleaned this box and the kit since I took the pictures and it looks a lot better, the color/richness of the wood is brighter than what the pictures show(kind of looks greyish, more vivid color in real life) I am listing it at $180 and open to decent offers. For sale is a very nice classic antique roll top desk. This desk is in excellent shape and all original. It is quarter sawn white oak and measures 65.5 across x 35.5 inches deep- uncommonly large for a vintage roll top desk. It stands 51 inches tall with the superstructure in place. I purchased the desk from an antique store in Pueblo. Colorado about 10 years ago and was told that it came from an attorney's office from Westcliffe, CO. I am no antique expert and can't estimate the age- only clue is the lock hardware that states a patent date of December 1884 and inscribed with"Corbin Cabin Lock Co. We are converting our home office into a bedroom and no longer need it. I have kept it regularly moisturized with Howard Feed-N-Wax wood preserver. All drawers are original and appear to have never been repaired or altered. The roll ... moretop is in excellent shape including the underside material and rolls smoothly to close and locks securely. Mail slots on each side(for after hours mail delivery if desk is closed and locked) see photos. Keys are included. The lap drawer includes 8 compartments for easy organization, and the bottom right drawer is a file drawer. It can be disassembled for transport or storage. An older an HEAVY rolltop desk. The rough measurements are 5ft by 2/12ft by 4ft. Some chips on the corners but overall in great condition. Has a lock and key for one of the drawers and a lock for the roll top part. I dont have the key for that lock so I took it off but it comes with the desk. This is a beautiful vintage/ antique wooden student desk. I bought this years ago at an antique shop. My children loved to take turns sitting at this desk doing their homework or playing school. This is a very heavy wood desk. There are no stickers or tags on the desk showing the make or age of the desk. There is a drawer under the seat. In the drawer is a lip for pencils to sit in. It is a nice deep drawer and slides in and out very nicely. The surface of the desk actually raises to become a drawing type board desk. There is a very heavy duty metal mechanical unit that supports this movement. I think a piece may be missing that holds the desk surface upright. This is an Antique Oak"S" Roll Top Desk with raised panels that has been beautifully restored. This desk is from my Grandparents home as I can not ever remember not seeing it there and I am almost 50 years old. I do not have a maker on this desk but have to believe that it is from the early 1900's. I would love to display this in my home. But my home will not accommodate it. It is 54 inches long. 3 feet wide and 4 foot tall. It is Oak and it has 4 drawers on the left hand side and 3 drawers on the right hand side. There is a brass plate in which to lock the desk. But I do not have a key for it. The colors and details are beautiful. With it being so old. There are some imperfections as you can see. On the left hand pull out there are little holes in the wood. Not sure if they were put there by someone or if something happened ... moreto the wood. On the back there is a knick of wood missing as you can see in the picture. Two of the drawers bottoms have been replaced and two of the drawers have what looks like as stains, but it does not get on anything. The top part has 2 shelves with the cut ridge for plates, and then you have the bottom to act like shelve, under the slanted top is 6 drawers and 3 filing compartments, inside 1 file looks like spilled ink but not exactly sure, then there's 3 regular drawers on the bottom, also comes with key to lock the top and slanted cover.
