This is one really cool piece of history! There are ink wells and pencil cutouts for seven people/employees. It is straight on one side and curved on the other side. See the pics as to how I squared it up on a trailer to best show the curvature. It is 138" long by 88" on the curved side. I am not certain if this was used as a school desk. It is a solid oak piece with all the original hardware and original beveled mirror. We did add the glass shelves. They were missing when we purchased this piece many years ago. It has a drop leave desk that hides all the little cubbies and small drawer. There is a storage closet and a larger drawer under the drop leave desk. We have the original key and it still works. It works find on the glass door that encloses the glass shelves and it also works find on the drawer under the desk top. The mechanism is missing to lock the large door under the desk top. up for auction is this great oak secretary roll top desk.Very hard item to find,bought it to refinish and make a hobby but don't have the time,so this is the perfect project for someone who likes to build with wood,there are cracks, and modern wear but as you can tell the desk is still in beautiful shape.old roll tops only go up in value,i believe this one is from the late 1800's how they used the block wood in the back of desk to lock drawers and dows used to put together.has all the slats they need put in and 2 knobs for the drawers and a couple of pegs.measures 47" x 30"very heavy all oak desk.has#23 stamped in it. 2 of the drawer bottoms need replaced.this is a locking desk too needs bottom lock.Excuse the knick knacks mom decided to decorate it,lol.none go with the desk

Roll Top works fine. Locking mechanism in the top, but open where it fits in. Small cubbies& 2 drawers in the top area. 2 pull out pieces, 3 larger drawers& a cupboard. This area looks like the base has been replaced& doesn't have a handle. Just the hole where a lock? used to be. Approx 44" wide x 30" deep. Height to top 43" 30" high to writing area. Vintage Antique Solid Oak Navy Machinist's Standing Desk
This is an old solid oak standing desk workbench taken from off a Navy ship. It was used by a machinist. There is a center drawer that pulls out with a tightly woven heavy cotton cloth base that was used to catch the little parts as the machinist was repairing.whatever needed repair. There is a lip around three sides to prevent items from falling off. Two top drawers. Three smaller drawers on either side. Wonderful carved legs. An awesome piece.
