There is a little card in the drawer from 1967 that could have been ... morefrom an antique store or a repair store. The bottles are ever so slightly turning amethyst in my opinion. One has the entire top part loose but can be easily attached. There is also a line in the crystal(these are pretty heavy) that might be something going on in the glass. It looks like an inner crack on the top part and then there is somewhat the same type line on the bottom part as well. The other one is in better shape. Still. These are really really old and thus the blemishes. The inkwell has black paint on some parts that is wearing but I think that is all original. The drawer opens and closes. There are some dings and such but I think the picture tells a good story. The contents of this storage unit were from Sweden, and so if you look on my other auctions you will see the antique finds that were found with it. Thank you. There is actually a label ... moreon the bottom with a maker's mark. Which we have been unable to identify. I have provided a picture of it- I believe it is a combination of the letters M S and I. It is also marked"No. 58747" and"528" The original hardboard back was marked"valnot" which means"walnut" in Swedish. We had to replace the back so this indicator has been removed. We are not sure which parts of the desk are composed of Walnut. Most of the desk surfaces have a gorgeous veneer. The star feature of the desk is the perfectly curved cylinder top. Which displays a quad-cut mirrored veneer design. When opened, there is a writing surface that can be pulled out. It measures 33 3/4" by 17" It sits 28 1/4" off of the floor. There are 5 cubbies which are all 3 7/8" tall. They vary in width from left to right: 8" 1 7/8" 10 7/8" 1 7/8" and 8" There are 3 small drawers between the writing surface and the cubbies. All of the drawers are 1 1/2" tall and 6 1/2" deep. The top and bottom drawers are 8 7/16" wide, and the center drawer is 12 5/16" wide. There are also 3 drawers below the writing surface, each of which measures 4 1/8" tall, 16" deep and 31 3/16" wide. This is in great condition overall with some general signs of age or use. There are some chips in the veneer on the bottom/front portion of the bottom drawer. The cubby and small drawer structure on the interior of the desk is slightly bowed. This does not effect the functionality in any way. The back of the desk has been professionally replaced with a material very similar to the original. Please see pictures for more details. Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony. The desk is a reproduction made by the Maddox Table Co. of Jamestown, New York. This desk comes right out of the New England estate. The desk has those wonderful features most folks are looking for, such as all-wood drawers with dovetail corners, and clawed feet. The hardware and locks are the originals that came with the desk, not replacements. The desk was in my family for around 60 or so years, so the desk dates to at least 1950, and it may be older than that- I'm just not sure. The desk is the slant-front style, hinged at the bottom, so it opens up and the front lays flat to become the writing surface; the desk front can be locked. When the desk front is opened and lowered into the writing position, two arms come out automatically to support the writing surface. Inside the desk there are 3 small drawers, and holders for stashing letters and so forth. In the center of the opened desk, inside, there is a closed compartment with no lock; the compartment door is scratched. There are 3 drawers below the writing surface that extend almost the full width of the desk, and each one of them can be locked. These drawers have a graceful bow front(see photos) Above the desk itself is a prominent feature, a bookcase with 2 shelves covered by hinged glass doors that swing out and can be locked. The bookcase doors do not line up 100% vertically when closed, a common problem with these desks. The desk measurements are as follows: 15” deep 14-3/4” wide 4-3/16” high The wooden pencil box measures 10-1/4” long 3” wide 1-1/4” high As far as I can tell the box has its original finish and is in excellent vintage condition. Stow& Davis Executive Desk H = 30" W = 74" D = 36" Age unknown. I believe we acquired this in 1983. Not sure if purchased new. The Grand Rapids Historical Commission shows some examples of Stow& Davis marks and labels from 1911 thru 1989 and the label on this desk does not match any that they show for these periods. The condition is good showing normal wear and is not missing any hardware(bronze? not sure what type of wood is used. We also have the matching credenza for this desk.

Antique School Desk and Chair Adjustable Metal Legs Wood Top Kenney & Wolkins
Charming antique school desk and chair. Made by Kenney Bros. and Wolkins of Boston. MA, this set has nuts in the supports to allow for each piece to have its height adjusted. The legs of the desk and pedestal of the chair are black painted metal and have holes for securing them to the floor. The desk top and seat of the chair look like they are made of maple. The inside of the desk has been painted a soft green color and there is a hole in the desk top for holding an inkwell. This desk dates from sometime between 1902(when Kenney Bros. and Wolkins merged) and 1930, which is when the company changed its name and discontinued furniture making. The desk and chair are both in very good condition. Although these pieces were obviously put to their intended use. There is some wear to the surfaces, including marks on the desk top and edge and a gouge ... morenear the top of the desk. See pictures. It also looks like an industrous student carved their initials in the side of the desk. There is also some hairline separation to the seat of the chair at the back. Unsure if the height adjustment is functional- it has been many years since it was used and may need some TLC. Otherwise no damage or repairs. The desk top is 24" long and 18" wide and at its pictured height the desk stands 29" tall. The chair is 16" wide and has a seat that is 13 1/4" deep. It stands 30" tall at its current height. Here is a vintage School Desk for little tots. Kindergarten. Pre-School, 1st Grade. I believe this is from the 40's or 50's. I was going to do a fancy restoration on it, but I consistently get side-tracked. Perhaps you would like to undertake a restoration. All parts of this desk are in solid condition. It could use some paint. The Maple Plywood seat needs re-finishing, and a solid top to replace the Manufactured top would be nice. That project is for you or another. This listing offers the child's roll top desk. Since I'm uncertain of the age. I won't mislead anyone. I was told it was late 19th century, but again, please judge from the pictures. Beautiful desk covered with"old" appliques of fairies. Flowers, animals. et c. I believe this was more than likely a childrens desk because of it's size and of course a ll the whimsical appliques. I have been utilizing it as a Telephone Table as it is a perfect height. Not sure what kind of wood this is. But it is fairly heavy. Some of the flowers/appliques look to be hand painted and the whole desk is heav ily shellacked/sealed. Tall. But sturdy legs, the top has a back ledge and side ledges. One good sized drawer that slides relatively easily and a goodly amount of storage(phone books) on the open ledge beneath the drawer with a circular cut out. The desk is got a nice patina of muted honey color and dark wood and greens. The white knobs are probably not original to the desk. And there are some minor to moderate cracks on ... morethe top(see photo's) scratches. The cracks might just be the lacquer or vineer, either way they are not very deep. It also looks like the front/top lifted at one point. But it does not now. It appears to be quite old and considering that. It does appear to be in fairly good antique/vintage condition. Antique French Boulle Style Ladies Writing Desk
This is a antique French ladies writing desk possibly(REPRO) from the mid 18th Century Boulle style. It is completely hand crafted of European wood and trimmed in Ornatmental Brass. The rarity of the hump style front and delicately curved lines is what separates this desk from so many others. The drop front opens to a leather? covered table with wooden slots at the back to keep your letters and stationary. There is even a secret compartment that slides open just in front of the writing surface. The cabriole legs are enhanced by hand sculpted brass mythical figures with wings. Cabinet makers frequently added some sort of ornamentation in the vulnerable areas of furniture to prevent dents and scratches. The ornamental brass continues on the lower leg and feet as well as all along the top edge and across the back of the desk. The back section ... moreappears to be small crowns of some sort. Possibly royalty.There is a crown missing on the right,but is not noticeable.The back of the desk has three small cracks in the vaneering I believe due to dryness and age.NOT SURE) Also some of the marquetry on front will need to be fixed. The gentle curves and meticulous detail are truly amazing.If I could have pinpointed this desk from an exact era and maker I would be selling it for much. Much more.
