Up for Auction is my Antique Child's School Desk. The frame is made of tubular steel and angle iron with curved out Maple wood seat and swivel upper lumbar support. Great Patina on this unit. This desk also has an additional under seat metal storage for books. The chair is 27 inches tall with the seat being 13 x 14inches. The side box measures 12 x 12 x 6.5 inches. No maker's mark. This is an Antique Captain's Desk. It measures 21 inches across and 21 1/2 inches from front to back. The back of the desk is 32 inches high. It has 8 drawers inside of the desk. Up for sale is an Antique writing/Travel/Lap desk. It does come with the key and the key does work. I purchased this desk at an estate sale and I didn't clean it and the trinkets that are inside of it will be included. If I were to keep the desk I would probably repair some of the pieces of wood in the inside to make the seems tighter but otherwise it opens and closes fine. I noticed it is best to pull the lid a little towards you when you close it so it can latch properly. The price does include shipping and I feel it is priced fairly. Happy Bidding!

This is a great little wood writing desk or lap desk with pencil holders on the top. It measures 11-1/2" by 9-1/2" by 2" There was some cloth inside at one time but it's mostly gone now. Easily removed if you want to clean up the inside. It's a nice dark wood. In very good condition but the lid is a tiny bit warped so it sticks while opening. Great little display piece. ANTIQUE MARQUETRY WRITING SLOPE This auction is for an old wooden writing slope with marquetry design made of wood. Metal, and mother of pearl. The box has some condition issues yet it is still very suitable for decorative display or as a candidate for restoration. The box measures about 13" side to side, 8 3/4" front to back, and 5 1/4" tall when closed. The box includes 2 glass ink wells with metal cork stoppers. The glass sides and base have all been cut flush and polished, probably pre 1900 English or Irish. There's some very minor nics on the top rims, otherwise they are in fine old used condition. There's also a pen handle and a few nibs. There's no makers mark on the fountain pen, it has a mechanical slide, and none of the nibs fit the handles barrel. The metal was not tested. Finally, there's a few extra ... moreslat boards for the interior dividers. It appears to be the face board that would disguise the hidden storage area beneath the top level of boxes for pen and ink well storage. The box has numerous condition'issues' yet is quite decorative'as-is' These areas of wear or damage are all correctable and include small areas of wood damage and a few areas of missing or loosening marquetry. There's a split on one of the inside desk tops. And general signs of cracking from age. Fortunately, the main theme; a wreath with birds, maybe Falcons, is completely intact and the fine wire border surround this non- monogrammed center cartouche is missing only one inlay'line' the top inner piece. The wire that is missing, is in the box and could be straightened and re-inserted into the channel. There is some'lifting' within the design, mostly one the edges of the metal wires and along the outer edged border of the box. The center cartouche does not appear to have any rising pieces, just general signs of aging as seen throughout the box. Wooden Child's Desk, Antique, Primitive, Handmade, Three Chalkboards, Flip Top
For your consideration is this estate find that I have no history for. Or knowledge of, I just think it is super unique and interesting! This is a very primitive. But well-made, child-sized desk. It features TWO tops that flip up. And THREE chalkboards! There is an indentation on the back to hold chalk and pencils. The back board and the board across the front of the desk have been pressed with a scroll design that is lovely. The first top lifts up to reveal a chalk board on each surface. Then the second top lifts up to reveal yet another chalkboard and a storage area. I have attempted to show the double hinge. As well as the toggle that holds the crossed leg supports together. The entire desk has been painted black at some time. It is now somewhat chippy, but that only adds to its character. The desk is slightly wobbly. But in good condition ... moreotherwise! The desk measure: 19" wide x 13" deep x 22.5" tall(at the tallest part in the back) I don't know what else to write about this unique little desk. I can't find any markings on it. So I believe it was probably handmade for some lucky youngster years ago! If you have any questions or would like more pictures I'll happily do what I can. Please look carefully at the pictures. Antique Wooden Lap Desk with Brass Writing Surface, Inkwell, Quill Pen Holder
Antique wooden lap desk. Measures 17.5" x 13.25" at the base and 6.5" tall at the tallest point. There is a brass sheet attached to the top to make a smoother writing surface. The inkwell and pen holder are also brass. As are the posts that hold the wooden railing at the top in place. There are also two brass reinforcements, one on each of the back corners. I am unsure of the exact age of this desk. Condition is as seen in the photos. Scratches and dings in the wood. The brass writing surface is bowed up on one side. The nail holding one side of the railing in place is a little loose. But the railing seems secure(see second to last photo) Both the inkwell and the pen holder can spin freely in place, but I believe this is how they were designed. The quill pen seems to have a modern ink cartridge installed in it, but the cartridge ... moreis dried up and rusted on the tip, so it does not write.
