This is a very old(I have no idea how old) children's school desk that I just inherited and really don't have the use for. It is in great shape and very sturdy and will easily hold a large adult comfortably. Due to size and weight. I am listing this as a pick up only. Vtg Antique Bank School Gaming Courthouse Wood Desk Table Ink Wells Solid Oak
This is one really cool piece of history! There are ink wells and pencil cutouts for seven people/employees. It is straight on one side and curved on the other side. See the pics as to how I squared it up on a trailer to best show the curvature. It is 138" long by 88" on the curved side. I am not certain if this was used as a school desk. Banker's desk, gaming table, courtroom desk, or? If you have any thoughts of how it may have been used or where it was originally from please feel free to share your knowledge with me. I purchased it from an auction house in Phoenix, Arizona a couple of years ago and I believe it may have come from Jerome, Arizona as several other pieces which they auctioned that day were apparently from an antique store or dealer from that area of the State of Arizona. Arizona a couple of years ago and believe it may have come from the sale of the contents of an antique store somewhere near Jerome, Arizona. This is just my assumption as other items at the auction that day had price tags on them as if they were from an antique store and the auction website made mention that they were selling some items from Jerome. Arizona(however they do sell items from more than one estate at a time) I am using it as a room divider/sofa table. It is a bit too large for my small home. Vintage Oak School Library Laboratory Desk and Stool
What you are looking at is a vintage high-top style desk with stool that belonged to my father. He acquired it as surplus from the Philadelphia School District(where he worked until he retired) But I don't know much more about it. It has a trademark from John E. Sjostrom Co. on the underside of the stool as well as the school district's tag. My guess is that it's from the 1940's or earlier, but have not found much information on it, so don't take my word for it. Being a used desk from a school, it has etchings and writing on it from students on the top of the desk as well as the stool, but it looks to still be in good shape considering it's likely age. I tried to capture this in the pictures. It looks like it may have had a drawer in it originally under the desk top, but we never had it. It's a cool piece overall, ... moreand I'd love to keep it, but I have no room for it. The desk stands approximately 41 inches tall, 28 inches wide and 25 inches deep, and the stool fits under it. Due to too many spam bidders on eBay, I am no longer accepting bids from folks with no feedback unless they contact me first. If you don't contact me, I will cancel your bid.
