I was told that it came from the Jim Wright family. I talked to a friend of Mr. Wright's and he does remember his father and mother loving antiques and having a roll top. Mr. Jim Wright studied law and became Speaker of the House in 1986. In 1989 he was elected Mayor of our Weatherford Texas. I actually worked for him during the Vietnam War mailing out flyers for our service men. This desk is in great condition with original finish. It is solid and heavy and is on rollers. You don't find lasting quality like this anymore! The desk has three drawers on one side and two drawers on the other side. One in the center and a flat pull out on each side for writing or whatever. This desk is very solid and heavy and in very good vintage condition, with normal wear for its age. It does normal wear and tear, but can easily be sanded down or chemically dipped and refinished to bring it back to good as new. All drawers are in great condition and pulls out good, but will need a light cleaning. No dents or major damage that I can see. I DO have the key for this desk. Awesome vintage desk. I acquired this desk with the intention of refinishing it. And using it in my cabin but I simply do not have time to do that. Measures: 60" long x 30" wide x 30" tall x 25-3/4" from the ground to the bottom of the center drawer(knee space) Weight: Approx 150 pounds! Prompt payment/ pickup is appreciated.
