They're heavy enough to securely hold several standing books. Circa late 1970's. Condition is very good. With few slight scratches, and one apple missing on right desk. All pictured. Selling as set. THE DRAWERS TO EACH SECTION[OR BIN AND DRAWERS] TO EITHER SIDE OF THE KNEEHOLE, AND THE CENTER LONG DRAWER, HAVE BUTTERFLIED FLAME MAHOGANY VENEER FRONTS. THE BRASS BAIL HANDLES HAVE A FINE DARK PATINA. THERE ARE FOUR DRAWERS ON THE LEFT, WITH A PULL OUT SHELF[FOR TYPEWRITER, ETC. ABOVE THAT TOP DRAWER, AND ON THE RIGHT A TOP AND BOTTOM DRAWER SEPARATED BY TWO FAUX DRAWERS OPENING TO A BIN, ALSO A PULL OUT SHELF ABOVE THAT TOP DRAWER. THE DESK IS ON EIGHT BRACKET FEET. AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE DESK IS A MAHOGANY MOLDING IN A SIMPLIFIED BEAD AND REAL. THE SIDES AND THE TOP OF THE DESK ARE IN PLAIN MAHOGANY VENEERS. AT THE TOP BACK, ABOVE THE KNEEHOLE, IS ANOTHER PULL OUT SHELF. THE CENTER DRAWER HAS FITTINGS FOR PENS AND PENCILS. THE FURNITURE MEASURES 2'6" 30" TALL BY 5'6" 66" WIDE BY 3' 36" DEEP. THE KNEEHOLE MEASURES 33" TALL BY 27" WIDE. THE TWO FRONT REMOVABLE PULL OUT SHELVES MEASURE 26-1/2" LONG BY 16" WIDE, THE REMOVABLE BACK CENTER SHELF 27" LONG BY 22" WIDE. VERY GOOD PLUS CONDITION: CASE MAHOGANY BOARDS, AND THE MAHOGANY VENEERS WITHOUT CHIPS OR CRACKS. THE TOP VENEER SURFACE HAS SOME USUAL USE SCRATCHES. A 2" PIECE OF THE BEAD AND REAL MOLDING IS MISSING FROM THE BACK. THERE IS A LOCK FOR THE CENTER DRAWER AND THE TOP LEFT DRAWER, NO KEY.
