It has three small pull out drawers on the inside with the middle drawer having a lift up mirror and there are three larger drawers below the desk area. The inside of the desk also has a couple of cubby shelves. If you look below the second shelf you can see someone has cut a small hole to pass cords through. I could not find any markers markings but I am guessing from other items in the house of this estate sale it is Danish and probably from the 60's or 70’s. It is of smaller proportions making it ideal for a smaller room. The approx. measurements are: 3’ 6½” tall/ 2’ 11” across the front and is 1’ 5¼” wide. There are a couple of very small little marks or bumps but nothing major and overall it is in Very Good used condition. This Would Be A Very Stylish Addition To Any Home! Even the sides of dresser and armoire are hand painted with scenes I think it is 1900's but could be earlier. I bought it 10 years ago and it was described as French cream and brown. I am only giving it up as I have inherited a family bedroom suite and need the room. Beautiful brass ornate pulls(all there) Glass tops are on dresser and nite stands as well as vanity all there. Dresser is 50 inches wide and has mirror 46 inches wide small thin piece of trim on front of dresser is missing but is easily replaced Armoire is 37 inches wide and 79 inches tall the original key is still with it The armoire door is not latching but would be easy to fix. I show a picture of the inside of the armoire, there is a rod inside of armoire with a small drawer. The vanity is 42 inches wide with matching ornate mirror and drawer. The 2 nightstands both have a door that opens for storage they are 22" wide. The bed head board is adorned with flowers has a small area of paint missing. Bed is 67 inches across and 58 inches tall. It would easily accommodate a 3/4 full or queen mattress. There is not a footboard or side rails it was not made for them. The mattress set pictured is a queen select comfort but is not included with the set Let me know if you have questions or need more pictures so that you can see the conditon of this set. This is a huge beautiful 19th century dresser that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with the original glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled dressing mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire dresser measures 73 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height to the sides from the floor measures 45 inches, height from the floor to the drop center portion measures 17 1/4 inches, total width of the dresser is 69 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs ... moreapproximately 200 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 41 1/4 inches high by 24 1/2 inches wide. This dresser does disassemble into 7 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. Early 1800's American Architectural Tabernacle Mirror Frame c.1800/1840 with Hand Painted Floral Panel Gilded Wood- Original Mirror Glass DESCRIPTION A beautiful Country Sheraton Antique Tabernacle Frame with the old thin mirror glass. This handsome frame and original mirror is nearly 200 years old and still in beautiful condition. A lovely architectural frame. And very well proportioned. The slender columns are reeded and turned at the top and bottom. As typical of Country Sheraton frames this has plain corner blocks that were never decorated with rosettes. The wide projecting cornice has small ball drops above the hand painted floral panel. The frame retains the original finish, a mixture of water gilding and gold metallic paint that has a burnished finish. The glass is very thin and as expected on mirror glass of this period it does ... moreshows great signs of age overall. Quite charming to look at with the darkening of the silvering. An old thin wood backing is retained on the reverse. It has screw eyes and wire and is ready to hang. The drawer tops are finished off with a stronger wood strip which might be mahogany to absorb the extra stress when the drawers are opened and closed. Late 1800's Curly Maple Woman's Victorian Dresser with Oval Beveled Mirrors
This beautiful dresser is in servicable condition. Original beveled mirrors intact. No cracks. Center mirror swivels vertically. It is believed that the drawer hardware is original. It does not appear that it was ever refinished and therefore has a lovely patina. There are some scratches, slight warpage and small imperfections on the top surface. I bought this 35 years ago and at the time the maker's name and'1896' was faintly handwritten on the back. But the lettering has disappeared over time. Please ignore the look of the mirrors as an attempt was made to blur out the reflections. The mirrors provide a clear image. Dresser is available for inspection before bidding. American Federal Period Walnut Chest of Drawers Four graduated drawers flanked by chamfered columns over splayed French feet Pennsylvania. C. 1800-15 Item# 130101PHP13 While the Hepplewhite form employing splayed french feet in case pieces is well developed. Even common, this chest exudes a certain strength that is uncommon in Federal period works of the Hepplewhite style. The solid walnut and solid poplar construction gives it inordinate weight, but the intense lift of the feet, raising the apron sharply in the corners, eliminates the heaviness of the look. The projecting top is crafted of two boards, the last 3/4" along the front actually a continuation of the front of the chest up through the top, a somewhat unusual and perhaps unique construction method. Surrounding this is a dropped and applied molding over four graduated drawers. ... moreThese with molded lips of the solid, each framed with hand dovetailed poplar boards with a deeply chamfered poplar bottom sliding into rabbets in the frame and tacked at the back with square nails. The dovetailing method is somewhat original, using very large dovetails at the front, smaller dovetails at the back, the lowest back dovetail squared on it's lower edge to receive the drawer bottom in the rabbet cut. Flanking these drawers are chamfered columns on either side. Both sides of the case are single solid planks of walnut. Incredibly large boards with wonderful grain appearance. Five vertical poplar boards line the back of the case, these entirely undisturbed and nailed in neat rows, the boards on the far left and right sides continuing all the way to the ground. As a result of this construction method, the feet are in simply outstanding stable condition, despite the incredible weight being supported. The feet are entirely original, the interior blocking of each a complex and almost puzzle-like formation. Empire Cherry& Tiger Maple Chest or Console. This wonderful New England furniture was created about 1835 as an Empire period chest or dresser. Sometime later a very skilled carpenter reduced its depth to fit a particular spot as a console. Entirely hand made of solid cherry and shimmering tiger or curly maple. The satiny finish is excellent. The front edge of the cherry top is beautiful- natural golden sapwood. When the drawers were shortened, they were hand dovetailed, just as when first made. Walnut knobs on the top two drawers are still secured with wooden dowels instead of screws. Drawer bottoms are chamfered on this charming American antique. When the drawers are opened. Beveled mirrors and brass hardware as well as the original velvet top on the storage area below the center mirror, and the original casters intact on the base.This splendid dressing vanity features great storage areas as well as the triple dressing mirrors that can be adjusted to different angles.just a fabulous piece for a dressing room or bedroom. This vanity measures 72 1/2 inches in height from the floor to the top of the cheval mirror at the center. Height from the floor to the top of the sides with the four drawers measures 32 inches, with a total width of 74 inches with the mirrors at the sides opened,50 ... moreinches wide with the mirrors folded back, with a total depth front to back of 20 3/4 inches and this piece weighs approximately 135 lbs total but does disassemble into 6 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. The cheval mirror at the center measures(actual mirror portion) 54 3/4 inches in height by 17 1/4 inches wide. Each of the folding side mirrors measures 51 1/4 inches high by 9 inches wide. Height from the floor to the top of the lift up storage compartment below the cheval mirror is 6 inches. The center cheval mirror pivots front to back to adjust for viewing and nestled in the pierced carved sides are 2 small storage cabinets each with the original beveled mirrors on the front. Flanking the cheval mirror is a stack of four drawers each with burl walnut fronts. Early dove-tailed ends and the original brass pulls. Gentleman's Antique Victorian Chest of Drawers - Local PickUp Only
Purchased this item at an estate sale so I don't know the origin of this piece. Measures 32" W x 19" D x 44 1/2" H(49" in back) I do know that the craftsmanship is phenomenal and the fit and finish is beautiful. The piece is in average condition with some scratches and wood chipped off in places. I'm guessing the extra compartment on top was a jewelry box. The wheels are made of wood suggesting it is very old indeed. The handcarved overlays are awesome. Two drawer handles are missing. Dating from the 1890s, the overall size of this chest is 39 inches wide, 20 inches deep, 34 inches to the top of the chest, 42 inches high to the top of the backsplash, and 72 inches high to the top of the mirror. The size of the looking glass is 33 inches wide, and 23 inches high. It has hand-cut dovetails, its original hardware, no key, but everything else is in great condition. Fine American Empire Crotch Mahogany Chest wMirror Carved Paw Feet c1880's
Being offered for sale is this American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Chest with Mirror with large Carved Paw Feet circa 1880's. This is a large beautiful 19th century chest that offers a tremendous amount of storage possibilities with all the drawers in crotch mahogany with period glass pulls. The original crotch mahogany framed beveled mirror with powerful S scroll mirror supports and carved Paw Feet with hidden casters intact on the feet and we believe this piece to also have its original finish. This outstanding Empire chest measures 71 inches in height from the floor to the top of the mirror. Height from the floor to the front portion measures 42 1/2 inches, total width of the dresser is 43 1/2 inches, total depth of 23 1/2 inches and weighs approximately 160 lbs. The original beveled mirror measures 23 1/2 inches high by ... more23 1/2 inches wide. This chest does disassemble into 3 pieces for easier handling during shipping and moving. All of the locks are intact on this piece but we do not have the key. The original beveled mirror does show some streaking and spotting as common in antique mirrors. And the mirror does pivot front to back to adjust for viewing. The left mirror support does present with an old repair that seems solid and tight, the right plumage above the foot shows some chipping and there is an area of missing veneer on the left side edge at the top and a cluster of scratches on the left side panel this is typical of these Empire pieces and doesn't affect the integrity of the piece by no means, just a part of the time worn characteristics these old pieces have endured over the past 100 years or so. Gorgeous carved solid walnut Gentleman's 6 drawer dresser chest original finish
This is a beautiful example of a Gentleman's dresser or chest. Early Victorian era and style. The sides and front of the dresser are solid walnut, as are the dove-tailed drawer fronts. With the added beauty of burled walnut oval panels. The black and brass teardrop drawer pulls are old and not reproduction, but not original to the piece. There probably was either a tw o- post earlier brass handle or a carved pull. T he finish is original. It has two vanity boxes on top. And the dresser is finished off with a small wood pediment bet ween the vanity boxes. I estimate this chest to be from the 1880's. Which makes it one hundred and thirty years old. It has had very good care throughout its' life. And is in excellent condition, with just wear due to age and usage. The burl veneer is all intact. None missing-which is incredible for ... moreits' age! There is one slightly lighter ring on the top and a few scratches on the bottom panel. But nothing noticeable. There are four drawers-the two in the center are slightly less deep and the top and bottom ones are a little deeper. Due to the design of the chest. There are carved and turned supports up the front corners of each side. Ending in a spoon-carved small corbel on either side. This piece has more character than most of the Victorian dressers I've seen and was probably a high-end piece in its' day. There is a key that came with the dresser, that fits the locks-but, they won't turn, for the most part. So, it could be made to lock, but, at the moment, it won't. The brass locks are all there. The measurements are: 41 inches wide by 47 inches high by 17 inches deep. I am happy to take and send more photos. If you are interested. The dresser can be picked-up. 19th c. Solid Red Oak Hand-Carved 3-Drawer Chest Magnificently Constructed
Just look at the details of the hand carvings and you can see the inconsistencies that denotes the mark of the carver's hand- the lovely'acorn on leaf' drawer pulls are all hand-carved. But no two are alike-they're like the snoflakes of drawer pulls. They all look alike. But they are all distinctively different. To me. This makes the piece quite sweet and charming. You'll see many of these types of carved pulls from time to time. But rarely will you see the drawers trimmed in the elongated oval like on these drawer fronts-VERY nice accent. There are wooden escutcheons on the three drawer. The top being triangular and the other two being round in shape. There is some very perfect cracking on the edge of the top. Just enough to be artistically welcome. But not enough to compromise the structure of the piece. The center drawer ... moreis on hinges. And opens up like a breadbox. The hand-carved skirt is impressive. The drawers had locks. Mostly missing However. This piece is really something to see! Salesman Sample Vanity Dresser with 3 Drawers I am unsure of the origin/maker; it is marked with a"KL" or"V" I can't quite tell) with the number 45 underneath. It appears to be skillfully crafted by hand. I am unaware if the red paint was original or added at a later date. The entire sample is constructed out of wood. Even the small knobs, and the mirror has signs of aging from it's time period. The style almost looks oriental. But either way it is very beautiful! Eastlake Vanity Dressing Mirror - Mission Style Wall - Fireplace Mantel - Foyer
HUGE Eastlake Mission Style Dressing Mirror ~ Wall- Foyer- Fireplace Mantel- Bathroom ~ Price Reduced from $295 In this listing we are offering for sale this splendid Victorian Eastlake Carved Walnut Wall/ Dresser Mirror circa 1880’s. The carved details on this mirror are geometric in design reflecting more of a adobe southwest style motif. The mirror measures a total height to the top of the crest of 49-1/2” inches tall by 36” inches wide. And weighs between 20-25 lbs. The mirrored inside dimensions are approximately: 29” inches tall by 17” inches wide This would make a wonderful statement in a foyer. Bedroom or great room over a fireplace mantel in a southwest décor style, log cabin or Victorian themed home. There have been restoration modifications to the mirror as follows: There was no original mirror when I purchased it. Just the ... moreframe and it’s been replaced by a modern glass mirror. There was only one unattached shelf bracket, but someone can have a wood craftsman duplicate another one to match booth sides if they so choose. The mirrored frame piece(I believe) was originally made to swivel for a large dresser, but solid brackets are now attached to the back to make this piece stationary since there was also no original hardware that came with it. The wood was faded from years of neglect in a bright storeroom as seen by the bracket shelf, but the mirror frame has been refinished with a clear natural stain to bring out the original color of the walnut wood. The photos show more of a reddish tint to the color, but it’s really a warm medium brown tone. It was very difficult to photograph in my office. Overall wood condition is very good, no splits, cracks, chunks missing, mold or rot. Although our price is reflective of these modifications. There is still value in owning this beautiful piece of history for generations to come. This auction is for 5 brass chest knobs from the Sheraton style of 1785-1820. They all need some repair. They are 2.25” round and have a single post to insert into the chest. The posts are 1.5” long. The top part is square and then it becomes a screw. They all need polishing. 1. surface has 2 dents- missing back plate that goes against the chest. 2. surface has 4 dents– missing back plate. 3. surface has 2 dents– has back plate. 4. surface has short crack on crease between inner ring and center. for sale a very nice antique quartersawn oak dresser with original beveled mirror and hardware. dresser is serpentine in the front which is a very desirable and somewhat rare feature. it has a great carved harp for the mirror which hopefully the pictures will show. it has abundant quartersawn flake on the top and all the drawers and dividers. the finish is overall in very good condition. Eastlake 1875 Antique Tall Chest with Mirror. Jewelry Drawers. An exceptionally well crafted late Victorian or Eastlake period tall chest of drawers with a swivel mirror dates from about 1875. Solid walnut with burl panels. The satiny finish is in excellent condition with warm patina. The mirror has just enough"smoke" to show its age, it is mounted above two small jewelry drawers. All drawers have round or"pin and cove" dovetail joints, characteristic of the age. Engraved brass hardware is of the period. But not original to the piece, for unknown reasons. Five lower drawers were latched with a"sidelock" mechanism- at the right side is a hinged column secured the drawers, but the lock is missing.
