To the base it has a knee hole or some times in England years ago they used to let the dog sleep in there.They called it a dog kennel, it has the original cut glass handle. Antique dressing table talcum pot and lid Lacquered ebony wooden vanity jar
A handsome little antique powder pot. Presumably Edwardian. Or thereabouts. The pot is about three inches tall. And once formed part of a dressing-table set. The base is marked: REAL EBONY Condition Excellent condition. The lid screws on nice and tightly. To keep your powder dry. There are traces of powder still in the pot. There is a small hairline crack in the lid. As shown in the photographs, but this is relatively trivial, and does not affect the working of the lid at all. The lacquer has kept the surface of the wood nice and smooth. But there are some small marks and surface scratches from normal use over the course of the last century. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. 1917 SILVER & EBONY WOOD TRAY DRESSING TABLE DESK VANITY SET SOLID WOOD ANTIQUE
Ebony wood tray with silver corners and a back bar for propping up business/calling/appointment cards. Measures 12 x 7 inches. Stamped'EBONY MADE IN ENGLAND' to the base. All four corners have vacant cartouches and are hallmarked London 1917, maker's mark P&E, the silver is in excellent condition with no dings or scratches and minimal rubbing, all fixing pins are present. Antique French Rococo Style Dressing Table/Vanity with Beveled Mirror C1885
This high quality antique French Rococo dressing table is made of walnut which is in superb condition. The beveled mirror and frame are in excellent condition. There are a full width drawer to the front and two small drawers on either side of the mirror frame. There are a few small signs of its age on the table top that are shown in the photos. It is in strong and sturdy condition and the hand carving is not chipped or damaged. It measures 35" wide. 22" deep, 28 1/2" high from floor to table top, and 59 1/2" from the floor to the top of the crest. The front drawer measures 24" wide and 14 1/2" deep. and the two small drawers measure 4 1/2" wide and 5 1/2" deep. These are inside measurements. I bought this vanity in 1992 at In Days of Old.
