It is flanked with stop fluted columns ending in circular shelves with gallery and gilding. The bottom part features a light brown leather hinged lift top compartment used for storage and decorated with brass nail heads. This part can be used as a a foot stool when sitting in front of the mirror. There are also four drawer cabinets on each ... moreside beneath a leather top that has a sliding shelf covered in green felt and decorated in gold tooling. This GORGEOUS vanity dresser is all original aside from 4 mirror screws& the bottom of 4th drawer. With just normal aged wear. This piece is still in good condition for its age. It has beautiful bow ribbon emblems on the front side corners and a sunburst like image at top of mirror. Mirror is in excellent condition, no blemishes, cracks, etc; and original tacks/hardware are in place and secure. replaced the old screws that once held it to arms as they were no longer steady. All(4) drawers are made well and still slide properly(replaced the bottom of 4th drawer. Do not have the keys for keyhole locks unfortunately. This is a lovely antique vanity that we brought to the US when we moved here from England. It is an attractive and well-made piece and it's in very good condition. Although there is some wear on the top where the varnish has worn away(see picture) The mirrors on the side are hinged and the woodwork on the frames of the mirrors is in very good condition, with the exception of a junction between 2 pieces on the upper left of the central mirror where there is a slight gap(see picture) The stool is also included, and it was purchased from Bed, Bath and Beyond 2 years ago and is in as-new condition. I have up for sale a gorgeous matching pair of Antique circa 1870s or there abouts Victorian Walnut Side Chairs. Very unusual upper section featuring carved serpents. The chairs are walnut with burl veneer accents. Eastlake spoon carving and ball top finials. The chairs are in Superb Condition- appear to have been refinished and reupholstered at sometime in the past. This would have been done many years back as the lovely woman that I purchased these from was well into her 80s and probably done this back in the 50s at the time when they moved into their home. They were cherished and extremely well cared for any use wear is most meager-condition wise impossible to get any better than this. The chairs each stand approx 38" tall.Approx 19" wide across the front of the set, approx 18" from the ground to the top of the seat, approx ... more18-3/4" across the wood frame on the top of the chairs back. Perfect for a Victorian Parlor Decor, a bedroom as they are smaller in size, as a desk chair,etc. The chairs are in fabulous condition! The upholstery is gorgeous- clean- with most minimal of any wear- no stains and no odors or issues of anykind. Basically as Good As it Gets. I notice on very minor imperfection- an old crack/ repair on one of the bracket arm supports-shown in my last pic. This is superficial and not something that would be noticed unless viewing closeup with scrutiny. The chairs are strong and sturdy. The wood is in excellent shape, appear to have been refinished by someone who really knew what they were doing. Any wear is most minor- no real issues. With all this said- these are not chairs intended to be used by someone of extreme weight or size. They are basically the side of a dining room chair- smaller in size when compared to a arm chair or something of that nature. Use my measurements and your common sense. Vintage French Boudoir Lithograph Wood Walnut Jewelry Trinket Vanity Box
Vintage Victorian Style Jewelry- Trinket- Vanity Wooden Carved Box The Box The entire box measures 8" x 10" x 2 1/2" high. The wood box(walnut? is carved around the edges as well as the lid. There are some corner nicks and green discoloration in a few spots(see photo) The Lid The lid has a French lithograph/etching print on the front. The scene is a noble woman waking up in a canopy bed. While two servants are bustling around her. 1774 Etching and engraving(British Museum website) The lithograph is black and white with a scroll at the bottom and is encased in glass. Lid measures 8 3/4" x 6 3/4" and is hinged on the side of the frame with invisible plug-type hinges. The lid opens when the box is turned over. I think that it needs a tab under the lid to open it. I believe moisture gathered under the glass because there ... moreare faint white marks on the lithograph(see photo) It is hard to read. But to the best of my ability, the title reads? Le Lever. The print was made by Antoine Louis Romanet. The lithograph copy has a seal that states it was printed in Germany. Inside the Box There is a mirror in the underside of the picture(lid) Surrounded by the frame, which is gold tinted. The mirror is very old with many issues. Although it is not cracked(see photo) There is no dividing section on the bottom of the box. The glass bottom is broken(see photo) The hinges are invisible plug-type side hinges. They are firmly attached. Although this box has many issues. It still has the potential to be a great antique when restored. We sell vintage and quality glass. Hinged triple mirrors have all been replaced and have no scratches. The mirror easily slides securely into the back of the vanity. Measuring approximately 46" wide by 67" high and 18" deep. It has six drawers that open and close smoothly. There are a couple of VERY light scratches on the top of the vanity. Walnut Vanity with Triple Mirrors - CIRCA 1930 - Dark Wood Tone - NO RESERVE
This is a beautiful vanity. But it does need work done on the center mirror. I tried to take picture but the camera would not pick it up. There is damage to the center mirror where the silver has peeled off. This is the original mirror and all three mirrors are beveled. There are also 4 wheels missing from the dresser and a small chip out of the bottom trim. Vanity measures 48"W x 69 1/2"H(at mirror) and 16 1/4"D. Considering the age of this vanity it is a testament to well made furniture. I am sure that we have today will never make to the antique stage! Is 89" in height. 17" in depth and needs someone to care for& restore it ~ The Eastlake piece became part of our antique store inventory, when it was left buy a consignor. After it was damaged ~ The marble was broken. Some time ago, but the ornate top became unassembled and the end piece broken off. When it was attempted to be moved ~ We have housed(not stored) this beautiful piece. Made of walnut burl wood which was the most decorative veneer used in the period and much sought after and considered a"prized possession" It also features a masterful intricate marquetry design. ... moreAdditionally it shows carved details. Overall largest measurements are approximately: Dresser: 61" wide by 20" deep by 36" high- the center part is 28" wide by 30-1/2" high. Either drawer's side is 16-1/2" wide by 36" high, all 20" deep. Stoo l bench: 30" wide by 26" high(to the seat's top itself is about 19" and is about 16" deep. It has been recently re-upholstered The frame is 26" wide x 48" high and finely carved. The glass is in excellent condition. The style is French Rococo in the fashion of the 18th century French royal court and Louis XV and it dates around 1915. The top drawers are compartmentalized and lined with protective covers. Excellent condition with top protective thick crystal glass(right side is missing the glass. Broken in the last move) In a scale of 1 to 10 and considering its age I would say it is a 9.50 to 9.75. Yup, almost perfect! An authentic magnificent piece of the highest quality there is. 1860s Walnut English Ladies' Mirrored Lap Desk/portable vanity/makeup box
1860s Vintage Walnut Ladies' Lap Desk Portable vanity/makeup box For your consideration is this rare antique ladies' lap desk made in England in the 1860s. It is made of walnut. And the inside of the lid is padded with cushioned blue material with an oval mirror in the center. The black leather writing surface folds out to reveal a wooden letter organizer attached to the front of this piece. There are compartments for ink bottles and a covered tray for writing utensils next to the letter organizer. Two ink bottles are included- one has no lid. An engravable brass plaque is in the center of the top of the lid, and there is a large brass plate surrounding the keyhole, but there is no key. There are brass handles that are recessed into the sides of the chest. A secret slide drawer compartment becomes visible by removing a brass rod that"locks" ... moreit in place. This lap desk is very sturdy and has been stored for many years. Keeping it in incredible condition. There is a contraction crack across the top of the lap desk which is common in writing tables of this age. A piece of trim is also missing on the left edge in the front as seen in photo#5. There are minor scuffs and/or scratches on this lap desk, but they do not affect the beauty of this unique item. Measurements are 16" x 11.75" x 9.5.
