We have for sale a very lovely Collar Box with Fuji Mum decoration on the outside. The box is celluloid and has decoration top to bottom. It is still in very good condition with only normal wear of a few places along the bottom edge. There is one blemish to the top of the box(See Pictures) The box is 5 1/4" tall by 7 1/2 by 7 1/2" across the top. There is a little discoloring on the sides. But it is hidden by all the flowers The inside is covered with pleeted satin on the inside. The little brass hinge is still intact and works very well. There are 5 collars all marked with their maker such as Arrow on the inside back edge. There are also about 7 collar buttons that came with the box as well. Antique Victorian Dresser/Toothbrush Box Flying Stork Transferware
Up for auction is this stunning antique wash stand vanity set box for a toothbrush. This is heavy china completely white glazed then with a black transferware pattern of a flying stork. I believe this is from the Aesthetic Movement of the 1870’s and 1880’s influenced by the opening of Japan. Dish is 8 ¾” long and 3 7/8” wide. This piece is not marked. It is in overall good condition with a flat chip on the underside of the lid rim(not visible when the lid is in place) There are few pits from the original firing process. But no other damage. To use this would have been heated over gas heat or a kerosene lamp and often ladies would singe themselves or burn their hair if it became too hot. So I would not recommend using it. This great piece is in good antique condition with normal wear- rusting to the stainless steel end and a slight crack in the mother of pearl. I have left most of the original patina. I have had it for several years and have decided to start parting with some of my most prized antiques as my kids and grands would have no interest in them. The celluloid has several areas where small pieces are missing and the silk lining has some fraying and soiling as well tho not horrible. I just like to point out any flaws as if I were buying it. Antique Celluloid Victorian Vanity Dresser Box Nice Condition Cameo Cherubs
Antique Victorian Celluloid Box. The box is in very good condition. The box is completely covered with a pale green celluloid. It is then embellished with ivory colored celluloid trim that is scalloped all the way around the box. A lovely cameo style design is on the center top with two cherubs. The hardware in good working order. However the hasp is missing on the closure. Overall the celluloid is in very good condition given the age of the box. It does show slight wear that shows in the photos, so please study them carefully. The celluloid on the top of the box is slightly warped, but you really have to look to notice it. I took a photo that really shows it. The inside of the box appears to have been relined. I have not altered the box in anyway. I am selling it in as found condition. There is a leaf scroll work along the edge of the mirrored tray and felt on the bottom. This is a beautiful dresser. Commote and bed set. The bed is only the head board and footboard. No side rails. I have the mirror for the one dresser. The spoon carving in these pieces is gorgeous. They are made of walnut. The furniture needs a good cleaning. There is some ware on the corners and normal contact points. The hardware is all complete. The head board meassures 56.5" wide by 47" tall. The dresser measures 42" wide by 20" deep by 31" tall. The commote measures 30.5" wide by 17" deep by 28.5" tall. Offered here is a beautiful. Small sterling silver and crystal dresser jar from the Victorian era with a large inset opal in the center. The opal has gorgeous color. The sterling lid is decorated with lovely roses, and the crystal portion has eight sides. The dresser jar measures 1 3/4" tall and has a diameter of 1 1/2" There is no monogram. The inside of the lid is clearly marked"STERLING" The sterling silver lid is original to the bottom of the jar. And fits perfectly. The sterling lid is in overall good condition with just some small dings along the sides. The crystal portion of the jar is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Up for your kind consideration is this wonderful piece of vintage glass. I know of no completely objective way to describe the condition of vintage glass.
