Victorian Bristol art glass is appreciated for its delicately hand-painted botanical motifs; the more finely executed the decoration. The more desirable the piece. I bought this lovely piece at an estate sale of a Wave Crest collector. This early piece(Unmarked late 1800s) is opaque white opal ware(milk glass) in an eggcrate mold pattern made by Pairpoint Mfg. Co. New Bedford, Mass. and hand decorated with pastel lilac flowers and enamel flourishes by C.F. Monroe Co. Meriden, CT. The painted flowers are gorgeous with the title written in lavender paint highlighted over with gold. It measures 7" by 7" by around 6" tall. Beautiful large celluloid box with brush. Comb, mirror, ring box, hair receiver, 6 manicure tools and a French silk hankie. Young woman in the forest. Victorian Antique Carved Medallion For Top of Victorian Bed Or Dresser Nice
Beautiful pair of antique medallions for the top of your Victorian bed or dresser. Authentic estate find. Quite large with beautiful faces on each one. The one on the right is damaged as can be seen in the pics but the damage is on the bottom and can be restored. The faces are not exactly the same size. Look closely at the pictures because what you see is what you will get. Except for the noted damage the pieces are in great condition.These pieces are 18" tall. 12" wide and 4" deep. Appear to be made of walnut. I don't know if the faces are made of wood or of the material they used during the era for this kind of decoration. I believe them to be from around the 1870's during the Victorian era. Don't find many of these today. Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. This is a great old dresser. It has nice wood grain. I'm not sure if it's oak. Cherry or walnut. Take a look at the pictures. There is a marble insert with the old-fashioned glove drawers on either side. The marble is undamaged. There are locks on all of the drawers. We have one key. The dresser is in very good. Pre-loved condition. The drawers have dovetailing and the drawer pulls appear to be original. There is no mirror. There is no mildew odor and the dresser is very clean. Here is an antique wood piece that I believe would have gone on top of a dresser or other piece of furniture. This is a very nice old piece with an open mouth lion in the center. The piece measures about 24" long. About 5" at the tallest(center) point, and about 1 3/4" in width at the widest part(in the center) The majority of the original finish is still in place, although there are areas around the lion's face where the finish has worn off. I do not see any missing pieces on the lions face, only worn areas. There is one very, very small chip in the wood on the back side of this piece at the very top. And exhibits no deteriorations except for slight staining on the lining. The photos are classic for the period and are part of die cuts available the time. Which were used for artwork and screens. This piece is amazingly complete with embossing on the back of the larger pieces. On the mirror in raised lettering are the words“Patent July 12. 1892. Antique Hair Brush Engraved Silver & Ivory Part of Dresser Set Vintage Victorian
Antique or vintage hair brush. Silver or silver plate. Ivory base for bristles. I assume bristles are some kind of animal hair that was used at the time. They are very stiff. The holder for the bristles appears to be ivory. The bristles are well instilled in the ivory- they are not coming out anytime soon! Obviously part of a dreser set. Very good quality. Looks like it is from the Good vintage condition but there is some slight wear on the middle part of the silver on the back and the handle. Ornate engraved design on the silver. I have looked, but can't see any silver markings but I'm sure it is silver or at least silver plated. 8" long x 21/2" wide x 1" high. There is a small piece missing in the ivory section. The top is in very good condition, but one side and some of the bottom have missing pieces. This has great workmanship relative to age of item.
