Ca1880 fabulous artifact from elegant Victorian living… an ornate cast brass three-panel easel-back dressing table/vanity mirror. This wonderful piece consists of three mirrored panels hinged together in an ornate open cast brass frame decorated with a cherub top crest. The left and right mirrors close with a small brass latch. The center mirror has a cast brass easel-back that allows the mirror to stand at the desired angle. At some point in the past the ornate open cast brass frame was polished and lacquered. The ornate decoration around the frame consists of typical Victorian motifs of flowers. Leaves, urns, scrolls, etc. with a very detailed cherub head at the top center. Each mirror is blemish-free and is backed with purple velvet. The mirrors each measure 9-1/2 inches by 7-1/2 inches, the frame is overall 18-1/2 inches high by 11-1/4 ... moreinches wide. When the mirrors are opened, the piece measured 18-1/4 inches wide. Note the mirrors are perfect but are covered with white paper for the photographs except for the very last photo which has considerable glare from the flash. Imagine how wonderful this lovely mirror will look in your Victorian bedroom. A very rare(and useful! Victorian antique in fine condition. I do my best to give an honest and accurate description. Ca 1920's It is in beautiful condition. There is amazingly only a couple tiny dings in whole set. T he original beveled mirror is very nice. Some very faint spotting and several marks in silvering. The mirror is 12" x 7 1/4" The brush is 9 1/2 x 3 1/4" and the bristles are in excellent condition, not falling out, solid. The comb is 8 x 1 7/8 and the teeth are excellent, no cracking or brittleness to material. The clothing brush was lose and someone glued it to silver. Mostly likely became loose from wood shrinkage. This Old Thing Antiques Up for auction is a nice Art Nouveau vanity mirror on a stand. It appears to be iron with a gold tone finish. This piece has a wonderful aged patina. It stands 18" high. So its pretty tall. The mirror part does swivel the underside is crudely engraved with ARK and some numbers. The mirror does have some light scuff marks. VINTAGE Filigree Metal MATSON VANITY DRESSER TRAY Display or Wall MIRROR Lge18"
From a local Estate and Featured for Auction we have a lovely Vintage Oval Dresser Tray. It is large in size measuring 17 1/2" long by 12 5/8" wide. This tray is made of metal. Gold in color, and bears the Makers Mark of Matson on the back! The beautiful filigree design looks to be flowers, possibly a Dogwood design. This particular tray has a metal loop on one end so you can hang it on a wall also. The only damage we can find to the tray are two breaks in the metal, one of which someone used a tiny wire to hold one together, which we had to look for with a magnifying glass to find, the other is at the top of the tray if you were to hang it. See the last picture, however you can see the break much worse from the back, it is hardly noticeable from the front with all of the metal scroll work. It sits on a burgundy felt/velvet base ... morethat is starting to show its age. The metal could use a wee cleaning in the crevices. Featured here we have a Vintage rotating dresser Vanity Mirror Tray in wonderful condition. It is 11 3/4" across the center in size. The mirror itself is 11 1/4" across. The mirror is in excellent condition with only a few light scratches here and there on it, some wipe marks that are hardly noticeable, nothing that we feel distracts from its beauty! It has a filigree design around the entire metal base of the plateau. The Backing feels like hard cardboard that is still in wonderful condition, just some light staining in one area. We cannot find a makers mark? We believe this is made of a brass metal, if you look at the second picture there is a spot on the filigree base it was makeup and came off. For your consideration I have a beautiful antique vanity. I have owned this piece for the past 18 years and just adore it. However it just does not fit into the style of my current home and I can not see painting over such a nice piece of furniture to make it match. This piece is not in mint condition. It has wear and tear from 3 separate moves. The top portion needs some fine refinishing. This vanity has been refinished before by a professional. There are some scratches and some light chew marks on the edges on the top of the vanity from a past cat that I use to have. Original glass mirror. Piece is made of either solid pine or oak. Very bottom panel on right side under drawers is a little loose, although not at all to the point of falling off. That happened in the last move(sigh) I know how concerns are in Florida when buying furniture ... moreas far as termites& beatles go. This piece has NO infestation issues now or prior to my knowledge. I do not have a matching chair to this. Although I do have an older chair that could be refinished to match for any interested party. Back boarding on mirror side has rippled up some over the years from humidity. But is intact. This is for a Vintage Standing Vanity Mirror Music Box. It plays“Love Story” It measures approximately 7 1/4 inches tall by 5" inches wide by 2 5/8 inches deep. Antique Vintage ~~ Mirror Perfume Vanity Tray Oval shaped mirror w/ ornate filigree metal trim and decorative floral and ribbon design handles. Measures about 16-3/4" across x 9-1/4" wide and stands 1" in height. Burgundy velvet covers the bottom of this piece(has faded due to age) Beautiful Condition. Some surface marks on the glass. Just from use. This was my grandmother's and I have had stored away for more than 30 years. It is probably from the 1940's. My nanny loved displaying her crystal perfume bottle collection. ANTIQUE ART DECO STYLE STERLING SILVER VANITY MIRROR& BRUSH SET- NO RESERVE Large. Sterling silver, 12.5" vanity mirror and brush in pretty good, used condition with light wear. Both the mirror and the brush do have some dings, but their beauty still shines through. The brush has sturdy bristles, is need of a cleaning and measures 9.5" x 2.25" wide. The mirror has no cracks or scratches. The mirror is hallmarked"sterling" on the inside mirror handle. There is also a script"L" near the"sterling" hallmark though I am not sure what that means, it could be a maker's mark. You can see what a great set this is in the pictures above. The mirror weighs 312.2 grams and the brush weighs 147.5 grams. This vanity set would be a great addition for your collection. Antique Watson Hammered Sterling 3 Pc. Vanity/Dresser Set - Mirror, Brush, Comb
This auction features a gorgeous 3 Piece Hammered Sterling Silver Vanity or Dresser Set made by Watson. All three pieces are in wonderful condition with only a couple of minor dings. One in the upper right hand corner of the mirror and the same in the upper right hand corner of the brush. None of the pieces are monogrammed. All three pieces have the Watson Hallmark. Are marked Sterling, and are numbered as follows: The 11 1/4" Mirror No. 8502. The 9" Brush No. 8505. And the 7 3/4" Comb No. 8511. The beveled mirror is very nice and clear. Please note: The marks. Etc. you see in the photos are reflections. There is no discoloration whatsoever on any of the pieces. They could use a bit of additional polishing. This is a lovely set! Vintage Sterling Silver Vanity Set: Mirror, Brush and Comb (Saart Bros.)
This is a beautiful sterling silver vintage vanity set from the early 1920-30's. All three pieces are marked sterling and the comb has the symbol for the Saart Bros. company. It has a beautiful design and there are some age related dings. Dents and scratches from usual wear. The celuloid on the brush is damaged in the upper left corner but the brush bristles are still very tight and usable. The comb is in very good shape and can also be pulled out and changed if desired. The mirror has a"fog" to it. I have tried to capture all the condition issues in the pictures so please look carefully. This set is almost 75-100 years old so there will be condition issues but they really don't detract from its beauty and craftsmanship. I also have the name of a gentleman who can change out the mirror with a brand new hand beveled perfect ... moremirror if that is what you desire. He does amazing restoration work to these types of hand mirrors. All three pieces are monogramed"GTS" The mirror is 14" long. 4 1/2" at its widest; the brush is 10 1/2" x 2 7/8" the comb is 7 1/2" x 1 3/8" 490g total weight including the mirror, brush bristles and plastic comb as well as any internal weighting. This set is being sold as-is so I will accept returns within the 14 days only if I have inaccurately described the set. I accept PayPal only.
