This is a very nice. Well made, sturdy, solid, vanity set from the 1920's or 1930's I think. The mirror is nice& clear, there are a couple minor scratches that could be polished over easily. I don't know what kind of wood it is or what the style is called. The vanity with the mirror measures approx 57" tall x 34" wide x 21" deep. The matching chair measures approx 36" tall x 15-1/2" wide x 16" deep. There is no makers mark or tag that I can find on this set. The wood on the vanity surface is a beautiful wood grain design. Made of walnut burl wood which was the most decorative veneer used in the period and much sought after and considered a"prized possession" It also features a masterful intricate marquetry design. Additionally it shows carved details. Overall largest measurements are approximately: Dresser: 61" wide x 20" deep x 36" high- the center part is 28" wide x 30-1/2" high. Roaring 1920's French Vanity. So Beautiful! Full Mirror and Swing Side Panels.
Gorgeous old 1920's French dresser. It is a chippy french blue and has gold gilt highlights over the seriously ornate Barbola Rose swags and whimsical ribbons carved in the motif. It still has it's old castors in the drawer if you so desire. Also. The tops had glass that was scratched pretty good.and I am having two new pieces cut as we speak for those tops. The side mirrors swivel and the clasp that holds them back still works well. It has lovely smokey cut glass knobs. This auction consist of(1) ANTIQUE STERLING SILVER VANITY MAKEUP MIRROR 3.6 OZ SILVER. Item is in GREAT shape. Does have some small dents on the edges for wear and tear over the years. Piece still has original beveled mirror with no cracks or breaks to it. I took the mirror out and weighted the silver alone. Which came to 3.6 oz. The underside of the mirror, has initials, that I cant make out. On the edge of the piece is stamped"STERLING C1362M" Not sure of the make or year of the piece. Mirror measures 5 1/8 inches wide by 7 inches long to include the handle. I picked this up at an estate sale in Ga. Book measures 9 by 6 inches. WEBSTER STERLING SILVER 3-PIECE VANITY SET-BRUSH MIRROR COMB LETTER S MONOGRAM
I am selling a lovely vintage 3-piece Webster sterling silver vanity set. It includes a hand mirror. Hair brush and comb. My friend is the original owner and never used it. It was always on display in her bedroom. Each piece has the monogram letter S. The comb has no missing teeth. The silver piece of the comb is a little loose but there is a tiny silver nail at each end that could possibly be tapped to make it more secure. It is not so loose that you could not comb your hair with it. The brush has no missing bristles. Each piece is hallmarked"Sterling" The mirror and brush are hallmarked Webster but the comb's hallmark looks different(possibly an S and B) See photos 8& 9. They were purchased together as a set so I do not understand why the hallmark on the comb is different. The mirror is 13 long x 4 5/8" wide with ... morea beveled mirror. This is an elegant lot of sterling silver accessories for a fancy lady! They were all once gold washed over sterling silver. They are decorated with a gorgeous hand engraved design of flowers and scroll work. They are heavyweight and feel wonderful in your hand. The clothes brush and hair brush have large"ox bone" pieces that hold the bristles. The mirror is thick beveled glass. Except for the comb. They are all monogrammed with the letters"REK. These pieces are sterling silver and made by Gorham. And marked as such. The mirror and hair brush are dated 1901. The comb is from 1852-1865. ONE(1) Vintage Sterling Silver Dresser/Vanity Hand Mirror. Made in Canada by Birks. Hallmarked"Birks Sterling" Overall measures approx. 10-3/4" in length. Width at widest portion of the mirror is approx. 6" This item is used& in fair condition. I note some typical spots/delamination on the mirror glass(please examine photos carefully) I have also noted numerous small dings/dents on the back of the mirror& around the edges. I have noted a"U" shaped dent just below the engraving on the back. Total weight is approx. 341 grams including glass& internal support/weighting. Etc. Typical surface wear& some tarnish.
