Here we have for auction is a good Victorian carved solid oak sideboard in the Jacobean manner dating to the mid 19th century. This well crafted example has a moulded edge top with a stunning carved frieze over a central bank of two long drawers and cupboard doors enclosing a shelve flanked either side by two further drawers and panel cupboard doors with moulding detailing being raised on squat feet with a carved apron. The sideboard has good heavy carvings throughout. The drawers are all oak lined with beautifully carved lion mask handles. This was my grandmothers bedroom furniture. All drawers have bottoms and slide appropriately and NO musty smells. Depending on your taste. Could be gently refinished. Quarter Sawn Red Oak dresser with mirror with solid wood curved front drawers
This is a well built cabinet that I bought and refinished. Everything that I know is original. I cannot see where any repairs have been done of it. I used a Watco Danish Oil finish/stain to refinish it a number of years ago. The drawers are all intact and work. They might be a little dry and could use some wax on the drawer runners. The drawers have locks but there were never any keys for it. The mirror is not broken but shows a little sign of age with a few small flecks that are missing. It also has a beveled edge. The wheels are intact but are not perfectly round but it does roll. It looks a little dry but all it needs is a good coat of Lemon Oil to bring back the finish. I do not see any of the plywood that is peeling or separating. Local pick up only. I forgot to list the size of the dresser. We have this very nice rare Dresser Chest of Drawers Has the Knapp Joint on the drawers. So that dates this between 1871-1900's I believe this is Solid Oak. Although I am not an antique dealer, just researched online. These are not the original knobs/handles. But they work great This is well made and in working condition. Great as an entryway or foyer table Or use as a dresser in your bedroom or kids room Measures 39-1/2" wide. 18" in depth, and 33" tall. I do not have a skeleton key for this.
