Antique Vintage Dresser Bureau Vanity Beveled Mirror Serpentine Tiger NO RESERVE
I invite you to consider this Beautiful Turn of the Century American Oak Dresser and helping my family become more debt free at the same time! A wonderful example of fine artistry by American Furniture Makers. This beautiful dresser was purchased at an old estate auction and although a lot of items came from Germany. This belonged to a couple of sisters who moved here from Germany. I am pretty sure they probably purchased it here in America rather than bringing it with them. It does resemble typical American Oak Dressers of the time period- I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of the 1900-1920's. They were quite up in years and the dresser was quite old when they purchased it and I found an Old Catholic Confirmation Certificate(in English) dated 1910 rolled up with what appeared to be an old Marriage License(in German) The lovely ... moreBeveled Mirror is in Excellent condition for its age and is framed in a the beautiful Victorian tradition. Beveled Mirror attached well and swivels up or down. The Drawers feature the Grand Serpentine style. The drawers all lock and of course the original skeleton key is included. I am not sure however if the dresser’s knobs are original or not. The Dresser features the rare and beautiful Tiger Oak Construction. Quarter Sawn) The drawers are all in pretty fine condition. One drawer seems to want to go in further than it should but could be easily remedied. There is also a chip in the front edge of one of the left drawers. The Dovetail construction does a fine job illustrating the dresser’s age as they appear to be have been handmade. Please examine photos carefully. Each drawer is constructed with dovetailed joints and features two ring brass drop pulls. The flame mahogany has a rich color that will only improve with age. The unique serpentine front shape makes this chest a little more interesting. Further enhancing that shape are canted corners with fluted lines. Its small size allows this chest to be used not only as a bedside chest but also as a ... moreside table or lamp table. There are several items to note on the bedside chest’s condition. First it has wear to the top of the chest(the darker areas in the photo) It also has dings present throughout especially around the feet and bottom moulding. The right front foot has developed a separation in the corner. The foot is still strong and does not wiggle when you try to move it around. Overall the bedside chest is quite sturdy and functions very well(IE the drawers open and close smoothly) All in all this is a lovely bedside chest that will serve your home for years to come. This mahogany serpentine front bedside chest is quite charming. Four drawers provide good storage for either a bedside chest or lamp chest. This piece is of Austrian origin and dates to around the early 1900s. The jade of the box is a beautiful rich dark green with appealing natural variations in color. Beautiful antique oak Victorian commode or dresser with a top serpentine drawers and spacious cabinet space below. Overhanging molded top with a decorative carved backsplash. The back and sides of this piece are paneled and there are elegant brass pulls on the drawer and cabinet doors. Two cabriole shaped feet in the front and straight feet in the back end at simple casters. This classic piece most likely dates from the late 19th or early 20th century. This beautiful. Vintage, Ammerican-made, solid wood, bow front dresser would make a wonderful addition to any bedroom suite. Hand crafted from solid wood, mostly likely oak, this dresser is of quality construction, with dovetail joints and has a beautiful finish. Mounted-on castors make it easy to move this piece at will. It comes with the original, beautifully aged, oval mirror, however, the frame and support for the mirror is broken and/or missing parts. They were supposed to all be in a drawer in the dresser when purchased at Estate Sale in March, however, the mounting pieces were not included and the mirror frame is in multiple pieces and not entirely there. This listing is for a beautiful four drawer Tiger Oak Serpentine dresser. This piece is probably very early 20th century and was lovingly restored by hand to it's original glory. Note: the lock pieces are intact. The upper four knobs are original, I replaced the 4 lowers with acceptable contemporary solid iron pulls( for practicality) There is no veneer on this piece as is often the case with early American serpentine dressers. The fourth pictures shows the dovetail joints, rounded solid oak rails and absence of veneer on the front of the drawer. Here is a fabulous small serpentine chest of drawers measuring 6 1/2" h x 10" w x 5" d finely made in what I believe is walnut(but I cannot guarantee that) take a look at photos. Maybe you can tell what kind of wood it is. Please note: although miniature in size, this is not for a miniature dollhouse but rather a larger"doll sized" piece) This is a wonderful piece of folk art done by someone proud of this piece enough to sign it(illegible to me) and date it 1971.
