This is a hand painted porcelain dresser box with a hand painted picture of Queen Louise of Prussia on the top. The box is cobalt besides the painting. The box is 4 5/8 inches in diameter and 2 ½ inches high. The painting is signed by the artist Reneau. The box has 3 hand drawn stars on the bottom but we have not been able to identify the mark. We believe the box is German and dates to the late 19th or early 20th century. There is a chip to the lid on the inside. It cannot be seen from the outside of the box. Fine-quality vintage dresser. Really versatile piece that can be used for many purposes. Five spacious drawers. Two of them are separated into 3 compartments(see the last picture) Originally stained. The dresser was in a very good vintage condition, but looked a little outdated as-is. It was carefully sanded, primed, double-coated in SW Web Gray; and sealed with two coats of satin Polycrilic. I painted it the old-fashioned way, with a brush, to give it more character and texture. PLEASE NOTE that due to the bright light the color on the first picture looks more blue than grey. Handpainted on porcelain in a beautiful rose design and accented with gold the set is hallmarked in blue with crossed arrows and is numbered. The crossed arrows is the hallmark of Kalk? porcelain of Germany. This lovely antique set is in very good condition with minor gold wear, no chips, nicks, cracks or repairs. It is about 8 1/2" long and has a nice design on the back with hand painted pink roses and a dark brush stroke outline. The body is translucent. A tan color, looks like tortoise shell colors without the streaks, The brush is pretty cool and is not shedding bristles like most old ones. Very rare antique 19th century Victorian 3 pc. English hand blown. Hand painted bristol glass dresser or vanity set consisting of 2 rose water bottles and powder jar. Very rare to find the matching tops to the cologne or rose water bottles and the top to the powder jar. Most sets you find today do not have their original tops and are sold ss vases. Beautiful floral design to all bottles and trimmed in gold. The rose water bottles stand between 11 1/2" 11 3/4" in height. Due to the hand blowing they are not of equal height. The powder jar stands 9" in height. The top of the powder jar also doubles as a bud vase. This set is over 150 years old and excellent care has been taken of it throughout the years. There is a chip on the base stopper of 1 of the cologne bottles. The other bottle's stopper has a chip on the top ruffle. ... morePicture taken. No damage top or bottom to the powder jar. I've seen a lot of trinket boxes but never one even close to resembling the size and uniqueness of this one. No chips. Cracks or other damage at all.
