Lovely old Ogee Mirror or frame found at an Estate Sale in Virginia in the 1980s. Maintained in my non-smoking home. This is the perfect size for over a small bathroom sink. In a hall by the coat tree to check your hat, or tucked anywhere. Actual size is approximately 18-3/4" x 22-3/8. The frame is deep, with three main parts. The mahogany veneer has lovely variations/flames. The piece can be used as a mirror. Or would be lovely as a frame for a period portrait. The frame is in lovely condition with only one small area of veneer loss. It came with a thick. Heavy mirror and a substantial solid wood back. This Plant Stand is 31 inches high and measures 16 inches across the top. It held the telephone in my parents home from 1936 until 2008. I believe it came from my grandmother's home and dates around 1880. It withstood the band of Irish hooligans that lived there. It started off with the old bakelite party phone and ended up with a panasonic phone. The spindle is tight to the base. The top sits upon a large traditional cylinder jelly foot. Which is an empire curl foot with what looks like a jellyroll from the side. The table is dark reddish brown and shows the normal nicks and dings that you would expect for a table dating from the early 1900s. 1840-60 EMPIRE PERIOD FLAME MAHOGANY SECRETARY WITH BOOKCASE & DOVETAIL DRAWER
First. The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful piece of work. It's an Empire period Flame Mahogany Secretary with a 2-Door bookcase above and single drawer below. This piece was estimated to have been made in the middle 1800's and is in remarkable condition. The inside 2 drawers are hand dove-tailed. The bottom wide drawer is hand dove-tailed as well. The bead work along the front doors and along the top is in excellent condition and beautifully done. This great piece of furniture shows signs of age as you can see in the close up picture of the zipper-like crackle in the veneer along the side, but, there is no separation. The desk measures 80" at the peak, is 39" wide and is mounted on 4 turned legs. The depth at the top is 11" and is 18-1/2" for the drawer section. Large Empire Period Flame Mahogany Veneered Wall Mirror Ca.1840-1850. This is from a family estate sale. The mirror is 21.25 inches wide and 24.25 long. It needs to be re-silvered there's a few scratches on the back of the glass and there is one small chip in the veneer. Usually this would be a huge deal breaker but it's just a small triangle piece the size of a nickel wide so it can be restored and you would never know or you can leave it as it is. it's not very noticeable, unless you're looking for flaws. The original wood pulls and early hand-cut dovetailed ends on the drawers with the casters in tact on the base. A very fine and imposing antique. Circa 1890's- 1900's, Empire style solid mahogany and flame mahogany veneers pedestaled partners desk. The carved claw feet have above carved acanthus scrolls, the pedestals partly turned and partly reeded. The kneehole entrys have carved acanthus leaf and half rosette. The three top surface boards have carved dagroon edge. The six drawers are bow fronted with flame veneers, the original glass knobs reeded. Includes the lock to both center drawer, the drawer interiors in maple and pine. The cross stretchers are squared and flame mahogany veneered. Desk measures 31" tall by 54" wide by 33" deep. From center half rosette at kneehole down to floor is 22-1/4" tall, by 15" deep to cross stretcher. Very Nice Antique Empire Style Dresser with hand carved columns, flame mahogany
Hi. And thanks for looking! This listing is for a real antique empire style dresser. This is a good sized piece, 47 inches high, 42.5 wide, and 23 deep. There is three drawers on the bottom and two up top, all with hand cut dovetails. I think the bottoms of the drawers as well as other parts are all one piece of wood with no seams. The front has beautiful flame mahogany veneer which is in fairly good shape except on the top drawers, which have slight curve. Along each side of the front are greek colums with hand carved details top and bottom. The top of the dresser is two boards that have been painted to look like wood grain. There is a gap in between them, due to age I suppose. All the drawer pulls are clear glass, I don't think they are original, but they are old, and some don't match exactly. From doing a little bit of searching, I get some hits from Morris County, New Jersey on the names, I think Howard Simley was born in 1899 so this sale probably took place in the 30's or 40's, I would suppose, but that's just a guess. A very nice antique. Circa 1830's, Empire Period solid mahogany chest of drawers, with the drawer fronts in flame mahogany veneers. The columns are veneer wrapped around, with carved capitols. Case is on four ball feet. The drawers and secondary wood is pine. The top is of three mahogany boards. The sides have recessed panels. Chest measures 53" tall by 50" wide by 24" deep. Very good plus condition: original unworn finish, flame veneers very fine. The lock to the top center drawer is missing, four other drawer locks present. The Chippendale style brass escutcheons are old replacements for the Empire style originals. Minor chip to edge molding around the top boards. Back boards with shrinkage cracks masking taped over.

This item is a charming antique(Circa 1800) French Empire oval form table with drawer that locks(key is missing) The legs are tapered and the top is a single piece of mahogany. The piece also has mahogany as a primary wood and mahogany veneer. The drawer has really nice dovetailing. There seems to have been a situation where the table rubbed up against white woodwork and you can see some of that has rubbed onto the front. This is easily removed. The drawer fits well and the table is sturdy overall. The condition is consistent with age and use. ANTIQUE FRENCH EMPIRE MAHOGANY BRONZE BRASS MOUNT GUERIDON MARBLE FIGURAL TABLE
We are pleased to offer this exceptionally beautiful and detailed antique(1920s) French Empire, Gueridon style table. The table features solid wood construction with mahogany veneer. The original gilt(ormolu) brass or bronze mounts are abundant. They are fashioned in acanthus or laurel leaf swags around the bottom of the table. The mounts featured on the table skirt section have faces incorporated in their centers. There are also floral medallion mounts for accent. The table top is beautiful and is green malachite marble with interesting veining and a beveled edge. The table has 4 legs. Each leg features an Egyptian character. The faces/busts are bronze or brass as are the feet. Their bodies consist completely of the marble which is a rare find in these tables. The table stretcher connects the legs and features mahogany with a marble centerpiece ... moreand bronze/brass acorn finial. This is a fabulous table with exquisite detail and design. It is in exceptional condition for its age(very early 20th century) As is common with these pieces, there is some minor chipping of the veneer around the base of the table. There is one area of wood on the stretcher that has a small crack which has been resolved at some point and there is a small bubble of the veneer on the table skirt. These issues are resolvable and do not take away or distract from this beautiful table. The marble top has a couple of scratches, again, not major and not distracting. Overall, the table is in very good condition. There are no missing bronze mounts. The table is quite sturdy. There is VERY slight movement in the legs due to the construction. Each leg is doweled into the table top and base. They do not remove. The marble top is also fixed and does not remove. I do not know if this was in the original design or if a previous owner fixed the marble to the table. This is a rare table and a treasured piece. The table measures 29" tall. Here is a very handsome and seven foot tall Empire Revival period solid mahogany bookcase with some gorges figured and feathered veneer. The arched original glass doors add an elegant touch. Open the doors and find a grain painted interior with three adjustable shaped shelves. The base contains two deep hand dovetailed drawers with original wooden pulls. The"case" or the top section is also dovetailed construction. This bookcase has the nice rounded edges and the simple crown with the lovely figured veneer. American Empire Crotch Mahogany Drop Center Dresser with Swivel Mirror c1840 Being presented for sale is this wonderful classic American Empire Mahogany& Crotch Mahogany Drop Center Dresser with Swivel Mirror and Glove Box Drawers. This fine 19th century dresser features its original glass drawer pulls. Early hand-cut dove-tailed ends on the drawers and powerful S scrolls that flank the base. The ogee framed mirror rests between the tall scroll top arm supports, we believe the mirror to be an older replacement and is nice and clear. The drop center base features smaller glove box drawers on each side with ogee drawer fronts and below additional storage is found in the four larger drawers below. Measurements: 78 1/2 inches tall to top of mirror 44 1/2 inches high to top of base sides 40 1/2 inches high to center of dresser base 45 1/2 ... moreinches wide 19 inches deep weighs approximately 145 lbs This American Empire dresser is solid and tight and has a beautiful presence. All the locks are intact on the drawers but we do not have the key. The interior of the drawers has been painted some time ago and the mirror frame and base does present with some mild veneer losses. Which I have tried to show in the pictures nothing major in my opinion for being approximately 170 years old and common in these period Empire pieces. There is also a mild age crack on the top of the glove drawers behind the mirror supports. A wonderful piece of American History that would be a lovely companion to that Empire Bed. Please view.
