Projecting over the front and sides with tight turrets at the corners over spiral-turned columns- these complex formations transition from a series of tight ring turnings into the spiral balusters over tiny urns and completed with a series of complex ring turnings over cork feet. The columns define the chest, greatly elevating the form with tasteful embellishment that does not distract from the overall composition. Here is a great older Empire style foot stool for your buying consideration. Recently picked it up at an auction. This item w ould make a great gift or keep it for yourself! Check out this beautiful mahogany foot stool. It does look original. Not refinished. Has the flame look to the wood that was typical with this style footstool. The wood is all there and in pretty good shape. Some loss of veneer and some dings from years of use. No cracks, missing pieces, or repairs. The white upholstered cushion is in pretty good shape on the top. The fabric shows some wear and dirtiness. But still all there. What is really cool about this piece is that it is stuffed with sawdust which was the old way of padding material. No holes ... morein bottom, but you do see residue when you move it around. Pretty cool! And check out the great metal casters this footstool is on. My guess is that they are not original to the footstool. Probably had not casters before. I see no maker's mark on this piece. The foot stool is 19" across. By 19.5" wide, by 12" tall. 7.5" from floor to top of wood. Really unique looking style on the legs of this stool with the flaming effect. An antique. Empire period, wooden mirror with mahogany veneer and wooden back.good size. The mirror, inside 8" wide by 10" high within frame measuring 12 1/4" by 14 1/4" Has a blocked border with a champfered back.very well made, probably circa 1840-1850. I'm sure the mirror has been replaced and there are a few small veneer chips missing, but this is a very desirable size and can be used both for both country or Victorian settings.it will polish well. Solid Mahogany Empire Library Bookcase
This antique Empire library cabinet/ bookcase would make a beautiful addition to your home or office! It has been dated as early as 1880 to as late as 1910. It's roomy interior has eight shelves that can be used to hold your favorite books or collectibles. There are 6 adjustable shelves and the bottom shelves. It is made of solid ribbon mahogany. The cabinet has it's original wooden back(with some restoration) and original wavy glass in the doors. The cabinet has a key. But it is recommended that it isn't used to lock the cabinet doors regularly as they are a bit tight to lock. The top board has a fine stripped mahogany veneer. The sides are solid mahogany boards. There are four large carved paw feet on front case. The case columns are full round solid mahogany. Three drawers are on top, both side drawers line in velvet for flatware, the center drawer with mahogany interior. Below aretwo side compartments with shelf, the interior light finished mahogany. It has its original wheels but the silk upholstery is not original and newer(1960s? and in fairly good shape, with a couple of minor spots- however you may wish to reupholster this fine piece in a fabric that suits your decor. The chair is solid and with only minor flaws consistent with age and wear- please note photographs. There are two hairline fractures on either side of the wreath and one on the left hand arm. Up for auction is an antique Empire Ogee mahogany frame with vintage antique 8x 10"+ mirror recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia PA area. It has losses to the veneer and losses to the mirror. It would have been a dresser mirror with the way it had side handles for swiveling for shaving. Brushing hair etc. There are losses to the mirror and it appears hand cut but we do not know if it was original to the frame but it is antique. It does retain its original wood backing shield cover. Meeks Empire mahogany and marble top center table,
Beautiful old as found Empire marble top center table which I believe was made by Meeks. The concave pedestal and the feet are distinctive. The marble is original and has only some slight discoloration. There is some veneer damage on the base as I have tried to show in the photos. The buyer must pick this table up from my storage building within a week of the auction's end. I will not ship it. I have lost my lease and must vacate my building by August 1. Early Empire Walnut, Mahogany and Birds Eye Maple Sideboard
This Early Empire sideboard or server is rare. And the combination of woods is striking in appearance. The piece was made in the South, and located in the state of Tennessee. The top is composed of tiger maple, the center drawers are birds eye maple veneer, the drawer fronts are walnut, the doors are mahogany veneer. The back splash is of the original painted striped design. The sides have a cherry wash. The knobs are opaque glass. The secondary woods are poplar and pine. The bottom drawer is for wine storage. The patina of the woods is beautiful. It would be outstanding as a sideboard or server in the dining room, breakfast area, library, etc.

A very fine antique. Circa 1840, Empire solid mahogany, and flame mahogany veneers, linen press, or sideboard. The front has two carved half round acanthus leaf columns with capitols, the front legs carved as paw feet. There are two top drawers with flame mahogany veneers, mahogany knobs. One drawer is velver lined for flatware. The drawer interiors are maple, the bottoms chamfered. The doors below are veneer fronted, and open to a divided compartment with one stationary shelf( shelf to left side missing. The top is one solid mahogany board, a horizontal crack long its middle. The case side single boards are solid mahogany without cracks. The only venneer loss is by one capitol(see photo. The furniture measures 3'5" 41" tall by 4' 48" wide by 2' 24" deep. An antique. Circa 1840, Empire flame mahogany center table. The facet edged top has four butterflied veneers, with veneer border around. The squared baluster pedestal, the table skirt, and the scroll legs, are also veneered. It measures 28" tall by 42" diameter. Very good condition: nicely refinished with good color. Some veneer replacement patches on the table edge, some small stained wood putty repairs to skirt or legs. American Empire Flamed Mahogany Sideboard with Cellarette Drawer Hairy Paw Feet c1830's Being presented for sale is this American Empire Flamed Mahogany Sideboard with a shaped backsplash.Full Columns, Hairy Paw front feet with acanthus leaf drape and a cellarette drawer circa 1830's. This period 19th century sideboard features period dovetail joinery on the drawers and the drawer bottoms, doors and back are also chamfered. The ornate brass pulls may not be original but are definitely period antique ones and the floral details on the pulls are beautiful. The top of this sideboard is a solid mahogany one board top with flamed mahogany on the backsplash and front of the piece, with full columns flanking the doors. This piece is solid and sturdy and in wonderful antique condition for being around 180 years old, top does show surface ... morescratches and some wear to the finish, the left finial on the backsplash has a repair near the top which I have tried to show in the pictures, and there is a small chip on the very top of the left door( hard to see unless you are looking for it is kind of hidden up under the drawers when closed) All the locks are intact except the cellarette drawer but the key only seems to work the lock on the right side door. A beautiful piece of classic American Empire furniture that has endured the test of time and is just the right size for about any dining room. c1860 Excellent OGEE Mahogany Daguerreotye VICTORIAN EMPIRE Antique Frame
An excellent mid 19th century mahogany veneered ogee frame. I think this could be a dag frame(the rabbet does not match a std size) but i know there are some odd sized cut plates so i will leave that up to the buyer. Either way this is an excellent mid 19th century Empire frame. Measures 10 3/8 x 10 3/4 with a 5 x 5 3/8 rabbet. Frame is in excellent condition with minor wear and no veneer losses. A most unusual antique. Circa 1840's, Empire period flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany man's petite dresser. Lifting up and back of the top exposes a gray veined white marble surround, the underside of lid with the original very wavy mirror. The case holds four drawers with butterflied flame mahogany veneer fronts, the drawer interiors in oak. The case is on casters. The dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 28" wide by 16" deep. Very good plus condition: damage is a horizontal crack to board and veneer across the top board of the lid. Both veneered sides have vertical shrinkage cracks. Includes all the locks and the key. The marble slabs are without chips, or stains. The right side marble piece has been broken in two and cemented back. The mirror is fine. The original finish has aged to almost an ebony color.

The superbly turned center pedestal. Ends in 4 carved"hairy" leg, and"claw" feet. Retains the original brass casters. 100% original No repairs. Excellent condition. This table was found in the Ephrata. Lancaster County area of PA Estate fresh from a old farmhouse.

These fresh barn finds from Michigan are hand cut from 7/8” thick cherry wood with thick figured mahogany veneer and each measures 22 ¾” tall x 8 ½” wide. They are likely from a neo-Greek dresser with lines inspired by the profile of swan neck elements. The surface is weathered and original with some lifted veneer and veneer loss. You will note a missing thin wood plinth on the base of one and some chips and loss to the veneer on the edge of one. There are some age/shrinkage cracks.
