Birks Lady’s Mirror and Brush are exceptionally beautiful. With great attention to detail and a lovely design. It is hand and machine engraved with curved beveled edges and corners to the handle and body of both mirror and brush. The set is in good antique condition, commensurate with age and use. Beautifully Designed, the beveled mirror is firmly set in a curved sterling bezel. The bristles of the brush are set into white celluloid and are fairly clean and intact.The hand mirror measures approx. 12" in length x 4-3/4" wide at the widest portion. And has a lovely monogram of GGE. Both the jar and lid are in excellent condition. ONE(1) Perfume Bottle(with dabber lid) Vintage Birks sterling silver top cut crystal dresser Perfume bottle is eloquent and beautiful. It measures approx. 5 1/2" in length x 1 1/2" at the top x 2 1/4" at the bottom. The lid is sterling silver. The crystal dabber has broken off( not visible when lid is on) and is the only defect with any of the pieces. Each of the four pieces are hallmarked"Birks" Sterling" Total weight is approx. 620 grams(keep in mind this includes mirror glass& some typical weighting) The set is used& in great condition with typical light wear. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. This vintage antique maple wood frame mirror sits on a dresser or table and measures 18 1/2 high. 14 wide and approx. 5 1/2 deep at the widest part on the bottom where it stands. The mirror has spots of silvering loss and some hazing. The back of the mirror has wood strips glued along the edges holding the mirror in place. The frame has some scratches and nicks. Cottage Style ~ Vintage Wood Swivel Dresser Mirror ~ Maple Wood Here we have a vintage dresser mirror of the type that used to swivel on a pair of dresser posts. The dresser and posts are long gone. So we are selling this mirror“As Is” The mirror outside frame measures approximately 34” inches Tall x 22” inches Wide. The inside glass dimensions measures approximately 25-1/2” inches Tall x 19” inches Wide. This is a heavy old-fashioned piece made from Maple wood. The top embellished scrollwork looks similar to a Federalist style of ornamentation. Condition: There are a few scratches on the front bottom of the wood frame and behind the frame up on top of the scrolled wood piece shows a few pieces of wood missing. But does not detract to the shape in front of the mirror. See Photos) A wood worker could easily cut a template piece and glue it ... morein to give it more strength. The mirror hangs on wall with picture wire. It also has the holes on both sides of the mirror where dresser posts used to fit into it. I do not know the age of this piece, but I’ve had it in my possession for about 20 years and believe it to be from the late 1940-1950’s, even 1960’s maybe. This is an circa 1850's walnut empire dresser. Everything is original. One mounting post on the left mirror arm is missing at the bottom. And the position post for the right arm is missing at the side. Dimensions are 42.5" wide. 42" tall(mirror adds an additional 30" and is 20" deep. I will meet the buyer halfway. Antique Dresser with Movable Hinged Mirror- Walnut color A lovely. Very old piece. I am not sure of its exact age. It was pulled from my great-grandparents' house in North Carolina many decades ago and kept at my grandmother's. The bar underneath the mirror indicates that it was used to hold a towel. This dresser might have been useful for holding a water pitcher and bowl before most folks even had running water in their homes. Wheels were added to the bottom for ease of use. This special piece is still quite functional. The mirror is really neat- it swings easily fowards and backwards via hinges. One can tell the glass in the mirror is really old. IThe dresser offers 3 long locking drawers. Dovetailed ends on the drawers, an additional 2 smaller drawers on top, 2 candlestand shelves, original period brass pulls. All the drawers have their locks intact but no key. The front of the dresser has beautiful incised floral and foliage carvings on the drawers and across the top of the swing mirror. This chest is good quality, solid, sturdy and would make a great addition to any Victorian Decor room. The Eastlake furniture style as envisioned by its namesake, Charles Lock Eastlake, came about in response to his dislike of the over-the-top Rococo and Renaissance Revival styles popular during the Victorian era. Although Eastlake furniture ... moreis technically considered Victorian, being popular from 1870-1890, it breaks away from the excessive high relief carving, classical elements and numerous curves of other styles produced during this timeframe. Offering for sale a Rare Antique RODEN BROS/ Birks STERLING SILVER Vanity Dresser Mirror Brush 5 pc Set This nicely detailed set dates to the engraved date of 1937 when the monogranned T&W( a family member) were married. Beautifully Engraved in a Floral Pattern with a Sterling Silver hallmark on each piece: Sterling 925 R(lion) They were carefully made in Toronto. Ontario Canada by Roden Bros Ltd. Then Birks later acquired this firm in the 1950's. The hand mirror measures approx. 12-1/2" long; the hair brush is 10" long; the other brush is 7" long; the comb is 8" long, the nail file is 5" long and clippers are 4.5" long. These are used. But in great condition. There is some light typical wear, as to be expected with a 75 year old dresser set. It is noted that most pieces have usual minor scratches& ... morea few very small dings(nothing serious) It is also noted the mirror does have some delamination/spotting(very common wear with mirrors of this age) This lovely set would make a nice addition to your valuable collection. Fabulous case piece from the"Procenia" line of the American of Martinsville mid century modern furniture. George Nelson was a designer for several seasons and possibly of this particular line. What stands out on the 6 drawer dresser is the fluted edges at the left and right ends of the top and the bowed sides that add interest to the shape of this piece. The mirror is also very attractive due to the lovely walnut framing. The mirror can be hung like a picture from the attached wire on the back or mounted directly on the top by use of brackets(not pictured) This is a solid. Heavy walnut piece. Drawers operate smoothly. There are a few scratches probably from finger nails at the drawer pulls of the most often used drawers and the expected scratches and nicks that happen when you rearrange and move furniture. I have up for auction an antique/vintage 7 piece bedroom set. The seet consits of a double bedd. With a headboard, footboard, and two 7" side rails, does not include, matress, box spring or bedding. I have used this with a double bed metal frame that fits inside this perfectly. There is a regular dresser that has two small drawers, and two large drawers, the large mirror, that swivels and is held on with decorative pieces, this dresser measures 44" wide, 36 1/2" tall and 21 1/2" deep, the mirror is 44" wide and 31 1/2" tall. The tall chest that has two lower large drawers and the doors open for three more drawers. This measures 36" wide, 47" tall and 20 1/2" deep. These have all the original hardware and the dressers have the original caster feet. The bed has a tall 48" headbboard, a 38" ... morefootboard and two nice side rails that are 7" each. I have had this in a guest room, there are some places on the bed that need a little touch uo to the paint. I am downsizing and need to sell a lot of vintage and or antique furniture. Beautiful Turn of the Century American Oak Dresser Up for your consideration: A wonderful example of fine artistry by American Furniture Makers. This beautiful dresser was purchased at an old estate auction and although a lot of items came from Germany. This belonged to a couple of sisters who moved here from Germany. I am pretty sure they probably purchased it here in America rather than bringing it with them. It does resemble typical American Oak Dressers of the time period- I would say somewhere in the neighborhood of the 1900-1920's. They were quite up in years and the dresser was quite old when they purchased it and I found an Old Catholic Confirmation Certificate(in English) dated 1910 rolled up with what appeared to be an old Marriage License(in German) The lovely Beveled Mirror is in Excellent condition for its age and is framed ... morein a the beautiful Victorian tradition. Beveled Mirror attached well and swivels up or down. The Drawers feature the Grand Serpentine style. The drawers all lock and of course the original skeleton key is included. This is a miniature or salesman sample of a dresser that is probably from the 1880's. It is well made from oak. It measures 16" tall. 10" wide and 6" deep. It has 3 drawers that have dovetail construction.There is a swivel mirror 5.5"x 6" in a fluted frame. The top of the frame has wooden dowels in the corners. It is in perfect condition with no marks. Chips or problems that I can see. One drawer inside has a crack but no separation. On the bottom drawer is a sticker with copperplate writing that says'Doll's bureau. This antique. Circa-1900, Art Nouveau Bronze Mirror with gilded accents is unsigned. But equal to anything Bradley& Hubbard ever made. This table top mirror is in great condition with only some light surface wear. In the photograph of the back of the mirror you will see a few scratches. These do not compromise the beauty of the piece or affect the reflection of the mirror. This is the only problem with this classic Art Nouveau Bronze Mirror. MID-CENTURY HOLLYWOOD REGENCY DRESSER WITH MIRROR BY DREXEL#3565 This beautiful Dresser with Mirror is made out of wood and solid wood. This Dresser with Mirror is in good original condition. And it has a beige/off-white finish color with green painted highlights. This classic Dresser has dove-tailed drawers that are made of solid wood on the inside. See pictures, and they are working properly. This Dresser has stylish metal/Brass-finish handles on the drawers. See pictures. This charming Dresser with Mirror was manufactured by Drexel, a fine furniture company. The condition of this Dresser i s secure and sturdy with some minor aging spots/scratches here and there proper to its age and its wear and tear. There are some touch-ups on the front of the Dresser and on the top. See pictures. There are some imperfections and touch-ups on the sides ... moreand on the top of the Dresser. And there are some aging imperfections on the drawers and on the finish, see pictures. The Mirror has some minor aging spots on the glass and on the frame, see pictures.
