The company was known for its"royalty designs" and finest craftsmanship using fancy woods and unique veneers to showcase stunning designs. These pieces are part of a whole bedroom set but being offered also as individual pieces. Made of walnut burl wood which was the most decorative veneer used in the period and much sought after and considered a"prized possession" It also features a masterful intricate marquetry design. Additionally it shows carved details. Overall largest measurements are approximately: Dresser: 61" wide x 20" deep x 36" high- the center part is 28" wide x 30-1/2" high. Either drawer's side is 16-1/2" wide x 36" high, all ... more20" deep. Stoo l bench: 30" wide x 26" high(to the seat's top itself is about 19" and is about 16" deep. Here is an antique East Lake-style walnut top dresser with tilting mirror and 3 drawers from the late 1800s. Dark refinished walnut solid wood. Mirror has beveled edges. Drawer sides are dovetailed to faces and backs. Six drawer pulls all the same. Locks for each drawer but no key. Cabinet measures 42 inches long. 19 inches deep and 30-1/2 inches tall. Mirror adds 46 inches for overall height of 76-1/2 inches. Total weight of cabinet and mirror is 120 lbs. Mirror is removable from dresser. Condition: Dresser is in very good condition. Wood joints are tight. There is no damage except for a small wood repair about ½ inch diameter that is very dark in the mirror frame top left. Wm B.Kerr Sterling Silver Mirror & Brush Dresser Vanity Set 1904
Both pieces are hallmarked Sterling. An axe(for Wm B. Kerr) 1717(pattern# Both pieces are monogrammed Addie 1904. Both pieces have a very dark black sterling patina. These will polish up beautifully if you so desire. The hairbrush bristles are broken and missing plugs. The sterling handle tip is squashed but there are no sharp edges. The rest of the frame is in amazing shape no splits or holes. The sterling part of the mirror is also in amazing shape with only three small soft dents on one side of the frame. The rest of the sterling design of high repousse flowers and vines is beautiful with no holes or splits. The bevelled mirror is the sad part. I left this on the table in the sun to take pictures and a friend stopped over and distracted me for an hour. for sale is a very nice serpentine quartersawn oak dresser with an intricate cut beveled mirror housed within its frame. to cut that mirror today with the bevel would cost a minimum of 800.00. at any rate this is a wonderful solid dresser with no issues to report other than the mirror is a bit smokey and has lost a wee bit of silver. it has great carving with much detail. the top is solid quartersawn oak of the highest quality. hardware is all original. the casters are new. the top is serpentine as well as the front. it is 50 inches wide at it widest point. 24 inches deep at the widest point. it is 82 inches tall being 36.5 inches to the top surface of the dresser. it has a claw type foot. i managed to dig this out of an upstairs bedroom set. i have included a few pictures of the bed. Offering for sale a Rare Antique RODEN BROS/ Birks STERLING SILVER Vanity Dresser Mirror Brush 5 pc Set This nicely detailed set dates to the engraved date of 1937 when the monogranned T&W( a family member) were married. Beautifully Engraved in a Floral Pattern with a Sterling Silver hallmark on each piece: Sterling 925 R(lion) They were carefully made in Toronto. Ontario Canada by Roden Bros Ltd. Then Birks later acquired this firm in the 1950's. The hand mirror measures approx. 12-1/2" long; the hair brush is 10" long; the other brush is 7" long; the comb is 8" long and clippers are 4.5" long. These are used. But in good condition. There is some light typical wear, as to be expected with a 75 year old dresser set. It is noted that most pieces have usual minor scratches& a few very small dings(nothing ... moreserious) It is also noted the mirror does have some delamination/spotting(very common wear with mirrors of this age) This lovely set would make a nice addition to your valuable collection. Vintage Sterling Silver Gorham Vanity Dresser 3 Pc Set Brush Mirror Comb& Case Up for auction is an exquisite Sterling Silver 3 Piece Vanity Set by Gorham. This is from my personal collection. It comes in its original case as well as with its original soft covers. I do not remember if the comb had a cover but it is not with the set. It even still has the original tag that came with the set. The mirror has not been used. The comb has maybe been used once. The brush has been used about 10 times. The brush and mirror have always been stored in their soft covers when not in use. There are no chips. Cracks or dents on the mirror, except it does have 2 very tiny flea spots of discoloration which is the oxidation I believe. It is very hard to see. I tried taking a picture of it. There are no dents, chips, cracks or scratches on any of the 3 ... morepieces. The set has not been monogrammed. It is pattern#23 with heavy floral carving. The mirror is approximately 9.5” x 4.5” inside with the brush approximately. 8.25" x 3” and the comb 7.75" long. All three pieces are stamped"Gorham Sterling 23" The case has some stain marks on the top and some spots that are damaged. Please see picture. The interior of the box is in very good condition. Back of mirror has 2 light stains as indicated on the second picture. Stains are at the top of the toothpicks. Please also note in the same picture that the outside tooth on the comb is broken and missing. Brush is 8.5" and is in excellent condition. A few of the bristles are bent. But I think if you wet them and stand them up, they would be restored. Not sure of the exact age of these items. Since I saw similar as a young girl. I will guess 1950s or 60s.
