IL- ... moreFar west Chicago suburbs) UP FOR AUCTION: A gorgeous. Vintage, Art Deco, walnut waterfall-style cedar-lined blanket or hope chest. Elegant contrasting veneer inlay work on front center. It's unmarked as to maker. I think it's likely circa early to mid-1900s. I believe it's in original condition. It has one interior. Multi-sectioned drawer on hinges(in need of minor repair-see below) It's constructed of walnut veneer with cedar lining, and secondary hardwood(s) The back is unfinished. Wonderful for storage and display or seating, it's both beautiful and superbly useful. CONDITION: Overall. I think it's in nice vintage condition. Solid and sturdy. Only the tiniest bit of veneer loss that I can see: a few tiny chips along the back edge. Minor nicks, imperfections normal to vintage furniture. It does have some flaws: 1) the top surface has superficial scratches and age-related splits in the veneer(but they seem shallow enough to me that I think just polyurethane(were the top refinished) and/or a walnut-tone pore filler would be enough to fill them for a flawless(or nearly so) top. 2) In the interior. Lid, left side, the wood affixing the screw supporting the pull-out shelf is stripped(please see photos; the drawer is just propped in place in the photo) so is in need of this repair. I'd probably suggest filling the oversized hole with wood scraps and glue to fill, then redrilling the hole(possibly a larger screw would work) this is left to the buyer. 3) The locks on these old chests pose a safety hazard to children(won't open from within; children can suffocate inside) and can't be sold with the lock in place. I've removed and discarded it. Leaving just the hardware(for aesthetics) so it simply opens and closes, and can be opened from inside. The face on the lid has blue eyeshadow and blue rhinestone eyes. She looks like a flapper and has rhinestone accents in her hair. Some of the stones are discolored. There is some fading to the lid and some light scratches. The compact is a silvertone and there are spots where brass is showing through. Some minor dents. See photos. Inside there is a little corrosion on the inside of the lid. The base has some residue where the original powder was attached. It is in fair condition. I listed above details. Stunning Vintage Foster& Bailey Sterling Art Deco Guilloche Enamel Compact 925 STERLING ENAMEL ART DECO COMPACT This compact is a stunning example of Art Deco style from the 1920's or earlier It is a gorgeous work of art. It was made by Foster& Bailey out of solid sterling silver and is marked twice as such. Once on the inside and also on the finger chain. The lid of the compact is opaque red. Green, white and yellow enamel with a black enamel background. It is reminiscent of oranges and cherries with leaves or a stain glass window. The sides and the back are white translucent Guilloche enamel. On the inside it has rouge and face powder that are unused and still wrapped in tissue with the powder puff. Inside the compact it is in 10 condition. Outside it is an 8 or 9 as there looks like two spots of repaired enamel. Only noticeable ... moreon close inspection. Here is an old deco design compact by Elgin. This one is a Clarice Jane. It's enameled in black and gold. The powder is gone but the rouge cake is still intact and unused. Both powder and rouge pads are present. The mirror is slightly cloudy and has a small spot. The enamel is scuffed on both sides- commensurate with age and use. Also included. This gorgeous antique art deco black velvet compact/bag came from an estate in the Berkshires. The owner was a world traveler. It is in beautiful condition with only the mirror showing some age around the edge. The inside is in immaculate condition. The closure works perfectly. It really is a unique piece. It has the look of an Evans compact but I do not see it marked anywhere. It is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the apple closure is 2 1/2 inches in diameter. 1930.S Silver Engine Turned Enamelled Dressing Table Mirror& Brush Set. The set is in a Beautiful Vibrant Green with yellow strip. Pictures 2,3, 7 show the colour more clearly. Due to reflection on the sheen some of the pictures appear more turquoise. The mirror measures 12" in length and hasa small rub to handle. The glass is intact with just a faint discolouration near the handle. The height of the Art Deco period. It measures 9 3/4" long. The mirror measures 3 3/4" in diameter. The mirror is mostly brass plated. But the center vertical panel down the back side has copper colored plating. It has embossed stylized Art Deco birds and leaves in this area. The two sides surrounding the center panel are embossed with a basket weave pattern. The plating has some age-related wear. The mirror is in very good condition with no chips. This is a vintage 800 silver lipstick case holder with a hinged flip-up mirror and a blue cabochon accent stone. The case is intricately carved with floral patterns on all sides. It is 2” long. Up for bid are Two(2) Vintage Art Deco Celluloid Vanity Trinket Boxes with Faux Green Pearlized Lids. The larger Trinket Box measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches from front to back at over hanging lid top. the base measures 3 3/8ths inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. The lid on the larger box slides into the top of the base. The smaller Trinket Box measures approximately 2 7/8ths inches long by 2 3/4 inches wide at over hanging lid top. The base measures 2 1/8ths inches in diameter and is 11/16ths of an inch deep. The rim of the lid sits on the outside of the lower base. Both have the faux green pearlized lid tops in a different shape. Neither box is signed. Both Vanity Trinket Boxes have been used. The larger on has the tan mar on the lid. Have you ever seen another one? Rare 1920s Art Deco compact and bracelet set. Complete with Fitted Box. Unmonogrammed lovely vintage condition. Bracelet has an incredible deco design front with inlaid enamel. safety chain intact. Closure snaps tight, marked Marathon. slight enamel loss on one edge of the backside of the bracelet- see picture. Bracelet is 2 1/4" oval. Compact has the Marathon logo on the rouge cover and puff is marked marathon. there is no enamel loss on the compact. compact is 2 1/2" round Box is marked Maraton. Pretty Vintage Compact-Art Deco Style-Green
Up for auction is this pretty green vintage compact. I am not sure if this is enamel or just green metal. But it is on both sides of the compact. On the front is a small compartment that was probably for a solid perfune. Inside has a compartment for rouge, and I think there might be another under that, but do not want to try to open it for fear it is not. Compact closes and latches, but rouge compartment does not latch tight. Some wear due to use.

This beautiful Art Deco style compact is approximately 3"x 1/2" The leaping Gazelle design is copper colored The fern and leaf background is gold. There is a C.H. engraved on the bottom. I believe this to be an Evan's design? There is still powder and a puff inside. The mirror is whole but there are a couple of blemishes on the mirror. The back and edges of the compact have scuff marks consistent with age and use. The top is in great condition. Clasp and hinge work well. The bag was with it when I found it. But I don't believe it's original to the piece.

This a HAND PAINTED RMS Queen Mary Rowenta compact. SILSASTYLE" I think this compact is from the very early days of the Queen Mary. Perhaps the maiden voyage. I have other Queen Mary compacts that are old, but not as old as this one. It's very well made and impressive. Powder and puff still in tact. MARKED: ROWENTA FOREIGN inside. Here on offer is a fabulous vintage art deco crystal perfume bottle. This beautiful perfume bottle has a gem shape with sheer undecorated sides. The bottle has a stylish crystal stopper that has a faceted design on one side and is plain on the other. The stopper has a single small flea bite on one edge. This stylish perfume bottle is being offered in good used condition. It measures approximately 12cm by 3.6cm and weighs 96g. This is a lovely stylish collectable. I can not find a maker mark on the bottle and there is some wear to the gold ormolu and one stopper has two faint flat chips. One stopper has an air bubble and one bottle has perfume residue inside. This hatpin is just beautiful. In the top there is a long swooping art deco beveled and faceted crystal stone. This is mounted in a very find filigree brass mounting. From the top of the crystal stone to the bottom of the point of the pin measures 9 ¾ inches. This is a very nice size hatpin. The piece has been cleaned and the pin has been replaced. This is a wonderful hatpin. Assembled from vintage glass and brass component pieces,and is ready to use on a coat, shawl, tie back for curtains, or stick it in your flower pot and watch it grow. The silver mount shines up beautifully still The main body is glass and has a lovely rounded shape made up of numerous straightened sides- this adds a very decorative look and catches the light really well. The underside has a star shaped The top is silver and simply pushes on. This is in good condition- there are a few dents here and there but no splits. It is decorated with a gorgeous engined patterned which certainly adds a quality look to the item. As can be seen it has a hole in the centre- possibly for cotton wool? Vintage 1920's- 30's Art Deco Cross Crucifix Pill Box Pendant Locket This auction is for finely made and striking. Sterling silver pendant locket, that is from the 1910's- 30's. This piece is not marked but it tests positive for sterling silver and weighs 32 grams. The piece measures 2 1/2" long(not including the bale) Is 1 3/4" wide at its widest point, and is 1/2" thick at its thickest point. This piece is unique in that its both a pill box and a locket in that it has a pendant bale. The front of the locket has an etched design of a cross and a scroll border and the back of the piece plain. The piece opens smoothly, it is very clean inside, and it closes securely with a firm snap. The locket has no dents or dimples to the surface, very little surface wear, and the piece has a very bright patina. In 1914 the fan frames became die cast. And in 1915 Diehl had developed their own A.C. fan motors. Prior to this development, Singer was buying their A.C. motors from Hamilton Beach to use on their sewing machines. In 1914 Diehl developed another type of gear oscillator in which the bulk of the gear works was inside the back of the fan motor with just a small part extending out the back. Diehl was running out of room and their fan making tools were wearing out as well by around 1912-13. Singer refused to allow Diehl to expand as they foresaw the need of the space themselves in the coming years. Diehl went ahead and purchased new fan making tools and built a new factory. Which housed only the fan motor and small motor division. They occupied this new factory in January of 1914. However. By January 1916, Diehl had sold the tools and factory to a concern from Delaware called Woodard and Sons. The Diehl Company took a big hit when world war one began. Up for auction is this art deco electric desk fan. It is a"Super Air" model per the lighting bolt log on the front plate. It is in fair condition and ripe for restoration as there is very little damage to original metal and all the finishes are original. Some surface rust on the grill is present. The motor does not turn when plugged in but that may be the switch. I did not take this fan apart to inspect the insides. The base allows adjustment of the fan head and there is an oscillating mechanism. The fan is approximately 14" tall. 12" wide with a 10" diameter blade assembly. Antique Art Deco Westinghouse Pedestal Floor Fan
Age is somewhere between vintage and antique. Fan runs well on all 3 speeds and is an oscillating fan which may also be used as stationary if you loosen the nob at the top rear. a lot of the wiring has been replaced-not by me so i don't know how good a job was done on it. Head may be tilted to various angles. Fan blades are 12" diameter. From the ground to the top of the fan is 54" at the lowest setting. 74" with the extension raised up. Base is 14" diameter and has it's bottom plate on it. A decorative plate over the top of the base plate has some large chips/chunks out of it. The rear of the fan motor is dented in but if you take the cover off you can probably beat it back out-it isn't cracked. For sale is a rare Warren Telechron Bakelite alarm clock. Model 7h125 Made sometime in the 1940's. Has a price of $4.95 marked on. The back. Measures 4-1/2" x4-1/2"x2-1/2" It is electric. The cord is cut off but what is Left of it is quite crusty so I cannot test this. I do not know if it works) There are 3hands plus a tiny pointer for the alarm inset. When I turn the Gold dial that says time the hands 2 dark Hans and the wheel in. The center move. When I turn the dial that says alarm the center dial moves. The Right and Left Arbors are wound tight. Clock has a Nice Brass 5 Rod Chime Unit, and is missing the Hour Markers on the front of Housing. Has an outstanding 2 tone Finish. Their is a Ding to the Left Front Corner and the the Right Rear Corner. Clock Measures approx. 22.5" across the front X 8" High X 5" deep. Movement is marked; Made in Germany.
