The chest of drawers has a beautiful veneer finish, with gorgeous ... moregrain and come carved accent details. There are quite a few scuffs and light surface scratches and dings on the piece. I am unsure of its actual age, or manufacture. It has three drawers, all quite large, and a detachable etched mirror with a wooden back. The mirror is loose from the wooden backing but could be reattached easily with some mirror hooks. The chest of drawers has a gorgeous multi-directional veneer finish that gives it an amazing, gorgeous appeal, and it has the original brass hardware. The posts that would attach the mirror to the chest are missing, but again, easily replaced. The drawers have dovetail joints. There is some small veneer loss on the feet of the piece.

Spectacular.World Class Beauty. Georgian/Hepplewhite Style"swirl mahogany" Bow front chest of drawers.Circa 1920 I acquired this stunning piece needing some tender loving restoration. It presented with a very opaque brown finish hiding the beautiful swirl mahogany. I removed the opaque finish and discovered the beautiful graining on this chest. Including on the drawers and the cross banded mahogany around the top edge.The rich reddish brown mahogany has incredible grains as seen in some of the close up photos(close up of the drawer pull) I restored the finish with many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish over the natural mahogany. The chest is a true chest of drawers with drawers that increase in depth(graduated) as you go down the chest.I restored the chest from top to bottom including regluing and clamping all of the drawers. The ... moredrawers all feature precise dovetail construction. Both at the front& back corners of the drawers. The drawers all have a extra stiffener support board built into the middle bottom of the drawers, a sure indication of high quality& craftsmanship. This chest is rock solid& built like a tank, made from all hardwood construction.the mahogany is all veneered over poplar secondary woods. The drawers are made of oak.The drawers slide excellently. The Chippendale style bracket feet and wrap around trim details of the top and lower portions of the chest are superb details. the brasses are all original including the dummy keyhole escutcheons. The detail of the brasses is fantastic as you can see in the photos. I buffed the brasses and clear coated them with laquer. They do have some darkened areas on the brass with makes for great character and patina The pulls work perfectly.You won't find more intricate& beautiful pulls.all original.There is a makers branded mark on the outside of the top drawer.see photo) The top drawer has 2 removable oak dividers which can be used to divide the top drawer into 3 compartments. For the Stickley shop or for the personal use of the Stickleys themselves.because it does not appear in any of the books. It is most likely one-of-a-kind. Signature indicates it was made in 1905-1912. I have had this item in my collection for 30 years. I purchased it at an antique store in Woodstock. NY. Measures 19" wide. 14.5" tall, and 14" deep. It's meant to sit on a table, I think, and the drawer separations indicate that it could have been used for silverware, or maybe tools. I've had it all these years and have not been able to find out any information about it. Up for auction is a rice paper label used on tea crates/ chests in the late 19th century until early 1900's. Measures 11 3/4" x 14" and is made of thin tissue- probably rice paper. Henry G. Sears Company. Holyoke, Mass. Formosa oolong. This is a new old stock label. No tears or holes, colors are still bright with s o me slight bleeding of the red border. Nice old label. This will be mailed rolled up around a tube in a tube to ensure safe passage through the US mail.

We are offering an early antique Korean tansu chest in original finish. I am selling this from my collection. This piece is circa 1800-1900. Dimensions are: 30" high. 34" wide and 17" deep. The inside of the chest is very clean. It lifts down. The chest has handmade original hardware; the lock itself is beautiful. And has old writing on it, The hasp piece that would actually lock it, is long missing. The chest has some of the metal ornamentation missing on the bottom center. There are small tacks over all that are missing, and a slit on the plank on the top of the chest. There are scratches, and marks and general wear over all. consistent with the age of thee piece. MCM Walnut Veneer Lane Cedar Chest in Very Nice Original Condition 60's Danish
Lane Mid Century Modern Cedar Chest This is a lovely cedar chest finished(if I’m understanding the serial number) on 04-07-65. It shows a bit of wear from the years– the ordinary bumps. Nicks, and scratches even well-cared-for furniture shows- but remains in very nice vintage condition. Its veneers. Which are complete, show even coloration– apparently it’s been carefully stored out of the sun for all these years. The air-seal gasket is still intact on the lid. It has one spot(approx. 1/16" x ½" please see the closeup) of what looks like nail polish on the top. There are small scratches and indentations on the top. Of which I’ve tried to show the worst. When the light is coming across the top of this chest you can see proof that it is almost 50 years old. There is one quarter-sized spot on the top where the varnish is slightly ... moreopaque- you can just barely see it in one of the photos. Oddly enough I can't see it when looking at the top- only in the photos. The previous owners were smokers. Though I can no longer notice any smell you’ll know best whether this lovely cedar chest will work for you. The chest is 43 ¼" wide x 16 ¾" deep x 20" tall. In spite of it’s minor flaws it is a lovely chest and a pleasure to see. I’m not the original owner. The original locks are not included in this sale. New locks are available for free from Lane’s website. Feel free to ask for more pictures. Let me know what you want to see and I'll be glad to oblige. I am proud to be offering for your consideration this American antique solid mahogany low boy chest circa 1880- 1900? This piece is right out of an old Boston area estate. It's a quality piece. All hand made of heavy solid mahogany. The finish appears to be original and good, but needs to be cleaned up and polished. The original solid brass Chippendale style hardware is all present. The drawers are in good condition and have hand cut dovetails and champhored bottoms. The carcus has plank sides, one side has an old shrinkage crack. The chest sits on tall, thin cabriole style legs that end in carved animal claw and ball feet. The problems are. the claws have been chewed by a dog and the backside has loose glue joints.
