The drawers have velvet linings which are not glued down and are probably a later addition and the top is hinged with more divided space. I think that the chest is mainly mahogany but I can't say with absolute certainty. This chest will be a keepsake that you will hand down for generations. Extremely Nice Wood Rustic"Pirate's Treasure Chest" Jewelry Box This is older& pre-owned. Structurally box is in very good condition. Inside has a crushed velvet look lining that is clean. Lion heads& all hardware have a rustic look to them. Decorative hammered brass brads adorn the box. It looks like a couple of the nails have been replaced(see lions head pic#9) When you open the top. It lays all of the way back(last pic) This was purchased in an antique mall, so age& history are unknown. Measures 9-1/2" wide x 5-1/2" tall x 7-1/4" wide. You are bidding on a 1948 Community chest campaign award Peter Pan figurine. This resin figurine of Peter Pan measures 7.0 inches tall. Since the earliest versions of the"Red Feather" figure carries a 1946 copyright date on their reverse. It is obvious that it's not really a Disney piece since Disney's adaptation of James Barrie's classic tale came years later. However, it is undeniably an homage to the character and appealing to all of his fans, Disney collectors included. Offered here are the two different versions of the figure, each produced at 7"tall from the same molds. The earlier version is done in the heavy brown wood grained look of the earlier Syroco figures, while the later one plays that down a bit with the use of lighter colored base materials. American Federal Period Red Painted Chest of Drawers Connecticut c. 1780-1800 Item# 120102ZMP25 This is a rather fine American Federal Period Red Painted Maple Chest of Drawers. Almost certainly Connecticut c. 1780-1800. It is an absolute work of art with a somewhat early and crusty red and black painted surface over the maple primary woods. The broad single board top projects over the case, finishing in soft molded edges of the solid over four graduated drawers. Each drawer features original hand cast batwing hardware and faux-keyhole escutcheons with numerous layers of original and later paints- one picture below shows a faux-keyhole escutcheon removed from the case, depicting the gritty surface behind it as well as detailed closeups of the back of the hardware. Each drawer is hand dovetailed with broad and rough dovetails. The drawer frame ... moreand bottom crafted of white pine. The bottom is deeply chamfered to rabbet into the frame, and each drawer bottom is nailed at the back, though many nails are later with only a few originals. Each drawer is divided by drawer blades that through-dovetail into and through the side of the case and backed by pine drawer runners nailed inside the case with rose head iron nails(one drawer runner top right replaced) The bottom of the case is uniquely designed. Sliding into rabbets in the sides of the case along the entire bottom, locking at the front with an exposed through-dovetail. The top, likewise built to last, is joined at the top with a sliding dovetail joint that allows the top to expand and shrink easily without causing cracking or pressure. Antique mahogany/veneer dresser chest made in East York. Pa circa early 1900's, by the Home Furniture Company. Pennsylvania Dutch style with hand carved legs and accents. 55" tall x 40" wide x 20" deep. 6 drawers with the top drawer being divided into thirds. All drawers are hand dove tailed. This is a beautiful piece but could use a little tlc. Has minor dings and scratches and veneer on sides has some warpage on side, all to be expected from being from the early 1900's, we think before 1920's. Hi. For sale a beautiful antique carved ox? bone keepsake, trinket box or chest. There are two latches that close the chest on the front and they are ornate. They kind of look like owls. There are three ornate hinges on the back. It is a very heavy piece that is 9 inches in width and close to 3 inches in heigth It is has deep purple velvet on the inside and is all intake but is faded in some spots. There is carved brass ornate designs on the top of the chest that has flowers and vines. In the middle on the top there is a mirror image of triangular brass designs with flowers leaves and designs. The bottom has five felt pads to keep from scratching your furniture or the chest. It is hand made and varnished with lots of work put into it.
