Because this vintage set includes a button hook. I am going to estimate that it is an early 20th century vanity set. Bakelite. Comes with 10x6 inch tray, brush, comb, button hook, and nail buffer. Everything is in great condition for its age. The buffer is kinda worn, but since it was used to buff things I'd venture to say that's pretty par for the course. Offered is a Vintage Art Deco to Early Mid Century Era Hand Held Celluloid Vanity Mirror. The round celluloid frame measures approx. 6” in diameter. The overall measurements are approx. 6 ½” wide by 10 7/8” long. It is in good vintage condition with no broken components. There area couple of blemishes on the celluloid and some flaking of the silver mirror backing. Consistent with 75+ year old antique mirrors. The celluloid frame is embossed“ France” but the marking is so tiny that photos were not possible. The photos were taken outdoors for the best natural lighting. It was well regarded for Art Nouveau vanity items. In operation until absorbed into Gorham in 1927. So this was made sometime before 1927. It has a art deco design around the edge with a hammered finish. In the middle the initials BFB are engraved in a box with a little floral design. It is beautiful and in very good condition. It does have some dents and light surface scratches as pictured. I polished it a little but it would benefit and look even better from further cleaning. This is a wonderful Art Deco style vanity or bathroom mirror for auction. The antique gold decoration is in excellent condition- no fading or wear. The mirror has no cracks. Chips or nicks. There is a LIGHT scratch that is highlighted in the top right of the 9th photo. The mirror has been dusted, but I did not attempt to clean any smears or fingerprints. Originally interior top compartment has a light, this is missing but the box remains otherwise wonderful. The hinged lid has a gorgeous incised design. Interior of lid has mirror. Art Deco Silver Compact Wristlet. Green. Black and White enameling. Black Wrist cord and tassel with separate silver lipstick holder. The case has two compartments on one side and one compartment on the other side with a mirror on one side and a writing tablet. Offered is a Vintage Art Deco Era Beveled Vanity or Shaving Mirror. It stands approx. 11 ¾” tall. The round mirror frame is not perfectly circular nor oval shaped. But somewhere in between. It measures approx. 6 ¼” in diameter top to bottom. And 6” in diameter side to side. The mirror is in good vintage condition with no cracks. It appears that there was at one time a backing. Possibly thin wood or cardboard on the back of the mirror. The mirror moves around within the frame, but is still firmly intact. The origin of the wooden dowel on back is unknown. Beautiful Art Deco Art Glass Dresser Vanity Box Jar Bohemian Czech?
This fantastic Vintage Art Deco Dresser Box measures about 3.5" tall and about 3-1/8" square. The glass is a dark smoky gray color. And it has a flower, swirls, and sunburst pattern that is repeated on each side of the jar and on the lid.There is some wear to the high points on the base, and the interior of the rim has a couple of minute flea bites. I am not sure which country this jar is from, but felt it most reminded me of Czech glass from the thirties. Though I would not rule out any number of other glass manufacturers throughout Europe.
