Antique Art Deco Cavalier Waterfall Vanity Dressing Table with Mirror -Needs TLC
Antique vanity/dressing table. Child's size? Measures approx. 5' tall(to the top of the mirror. 4'3" wide, 18" deep. In need of some love and a refinishing. The finish appears to have already been removed some years ago or it is just that worn. I don't know for sure though. Peeling and chipped veneer in many places. Is missing the little brackets that hold the mirror to the wood backing. Also missing a piece of glass for the top center(between the drawers) Both of those items are easily replaced. Someone wrote their name on the mirror, but it does seem to come off easily when scraped, so it is not etched in there. The mirror alone on this piece is worth $40.00. VINTAGE ART DECO DRESSING TABLE SET This pretty vintage dressing table set has an Art Deco pattern in a pale apple green. The tray stands on four ball feet with patterned edge. And has very delicate shaped pierced handles, it is 14 1/4" handle to handle x 7 1/2" across. The matching candle sticks are 2 1/4" x 2 3/4" across. The powder/ trinket bowl has the same mount as the other pieces with the same pattern in the centre. It is 2 1/4" x 4 1/2" across. The clothes brush is in the same apple green colour. But it is a bit different pattern. It does fit in very well with the other pieces. Please see the pictures. They are all in used vintage condition. But do look very good together on a dressing table.

Hallmarked Birmingham 1936, with the makers mark of Daniel Manufacturing Co. There are a few slight dings consistent with age. And some bristle loss on one of the clothes brushes and very slightly on one hairbrush, as can be seen in the photographs. The mirror is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The back of each item is engraved with a pattern consistent with the art deco style and has a blank cartouche. The hairbrushes each measure 23.5 cm long. The clothes brushes 14 cm long and the mirror 31 cm long. The whole set weighs 584 gms. Which lacks one piece, comprises of: Hand held mirror with beveled glass. Hairbrush and clothes brush with horse hair(or similar) bristles(not man made) a large button hook(with silver haft) small glass pill/patch box with silver lid, comb, nail file, cuticle shaper and buffer I have only given the set a light clean. So as not to remove the lovely patina which has built up over the years, I will leave it up to the new owner to decide whether to clean it further. CONDITION This wonderful old set has been used and loved. Therfor does have dings, scratches and signs of use in line with age and use, the set does lack one piece, the silver mounting on the comb has some damaged but could easily be repaired, this just adds a'timeworn' appeal to this set which is full of character! Enamel is in very good condition with just a very tiny rub to one of the corners of the clothes brush tops see picture 12 its at the edge the white in the middle is camera flash. One of the hairbrushes has some damage to the enamelled black handle part of the brush, this is approx. 1 cm across and the black looks smudged and the gold pattern is missing see picture 9. Very attractive vintage dressing table set- Art Deco and made from a beautiful amber coloured glass. Comprises 4 parts- a long tray. Smaller dish, lidded trinket box and a perfume bottle. The prefume bottle has obviously at one time held perfume as you can see the residue inside. The top is showing some signs of wear and I believe would have one time has a atomizer attached. All pieces are in nice vintage condition- a few minor nibbles here and there to the glass but nothing serious. Tray measures 9 inches long and has one slightly larger chip from its rim. And wider natural material teeth to the opposing portion. This impressive sterling silver dressing table set is fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with a satin and velvet lined interior. The components of this antique enamel set were craft by the Birmingham silversmith Charles S Green& Co Ltd between 1932 and 1936; these items will have been crafted in a shorter period but due to the hallmarking system the pieces are struck with the date letters H. Hello and welcome to my auction! This auction is for a beautiful vanity set which belonged to my great aunt. It features a beautiful bristle brush and a hand held mirror with gorgeous art deco inspired shape. The mirror measures 26cm(10.25" by 13cm(5" at the longest and widest point. It is a beautiful shape and has a bevelled eedge- stunning! The brush measures 20cm(7.75" by 9cm(3.5" at the longest and widest point. Considering its age(I think my great aunt acquired it in the 1940s) it is in great condition. The mirror has minor tarnishing around the edge and very minor wear on the back edge with a hairline crack across the handle. I've tried to take close up photos to show this but it's not very noticeable. The brush bristles would benefit from a good wash before it's used again. Enamel is in very good condition with just a very tiny rub to the mirror handle its at the edge. The mirror is in very good condition with no foxing etc. and all the brush parts are fine with no loss of bristles, the bristles are nylon and marked made in England, set is all marked Adie Bros and Made in England. This amazing set will sit nicely on your retro dressing table. the base is chromed metal and good condition with some dulling. The interior(probably white enamel) chipped in places as in photos. The yellow powder puff is wool with a black ribbon to lift. The top is fabulous ART DECO geometric pattern with a plastic handle- this has tiny chips at the top. there is a slight dent on the top where the yellow pattern meets the metal edge. Mirror is very good condition and magnifies. Diameter at top is 11 cm and total height is 10 cm. I am listing many pottery items from the 1920s and 1930s which we collected as art students in the 1970s. They have been packed in boxes and stored in the attic for 40 years so time for a new home. vtg MCM art deco waterfall vanity dresser dressing table Frankl wakefield style
This is extra special because it is solid blocked wood! Maple or Birch. There is no veneer- and this waterfall style deco stuff is almost always veneered. And as a second plus it is a Beautiful blond wood tone instead of the usual darker wood. Some scuffs and scratches to the sides and handles and some slight inconsistencies to the top- but no bad stains or discoloration. This is a vintage un-restored piece that displays nicely as it is- but is not perfect. Measures 46 inches long x 20 deep(plus a little for the handles) x28.5 tall at the higher part and 25.5 high in the center.
