The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. It is in excellent overall condition for its age with no major damage. There are some slight bubbles in the veneer in a couple of places. And one small chip has been filled on the middle drawer. The attachment between the mirror and the stand is slightly wobbly on the left hand side, but stable. Condition: Used Location: Swedesboro, United States This is a Vintage Mahogany Dresser Mirror. Also referred to as a Shaving Mirror or Shaving Stand, hand made by Potthast Brothers in the 1930's. As ... moreis typical Potthast, the details on this piece are exquisitely done. The mahogany wood grain is wonderfully rich and the turnings are a masterpiece. There are 3 drawers, and the dovetails on the drawers are cut by hand. The knobs are delicately turned. The mirror is held in place by solid brass thumb pieces carefully inlaid into the posts. The top of the cabinet section is inset and the sides are framed by short turned columns which add an interesting touch and create balance. It measures 24 inches wide by 25 1/4 inches tall to the top of the spindle posts by 9 inches deep. The mirror itself in it's frame is 20 inches by 16 inches. This piece would make a handsome and functional addition sitting on top of a dresser. I took the photos outdoors so the lighting would show the condition of this piece and the beautiful wood grain. There are some small dings and scratches to the finish which. I believe add to the character of the piece. There is some color fading from sunlight on the surface behind the mirror. The Potthast Brothers Furniture Company was founded in 1892 by brothers Vincent. John, Theodore and William who came to Baltimore from Westphalia, Germany. A fifth brother remained in Germany and was also a furniture maker. The business and showroom was located in the prestigious building at 964 N Charles Street in Baltimore. We had the pleasure of spending time with Theodore and his wife who lived a shore distance from our home when we lived in Baltimore. In 1996. The comb is missing the two end stones, missing two prongs and the end prong is missing the bottom tip. The brush has all the stones, some use finish wear along the handle sides. The bottle set has all the stones, one bottle has a major chip along the top, 3 stoppers have tiny fleabites. Overall this set is still not bad for a very old used set. This is a gorgeous. Hard to find bedroom set from Jan 1942. Full size bed frame includes head and foot board and slats. Tallboy dresser with corner trays in top drawer in each corner, vanity with mirror and chair(mirror became detached from it's frame when I hauled it home, just needs a couple new clips) cedar chest aka hope chest is beautiful, has felt lined shelf, working lock and key. Dove tail construction on all pieces. Minor wear as would be expected in furniture of this age. There is chipping of the veneer on the front bottom of the cedar chest in one spot. Maybe form shoes bumping into it. I took pictures of it. This is the worst that I saw, other than some minor dings or scratches, again, common in furniture of this age. Excellent shape overall. The lid and the base are both in an eight pointed star shape. It has a four footed base. The powder box is also uranium glass and glows green under a black light. Bottom is marked IDL, NY No. 3 did some research and IDL was medical supply company that did lots of various purpose glass containers in 20's and 30's. Jar is small and measurement pictured above, lid sits loosely on top and is a beautiful glass dome and acts like a magnifying glass to enlarge whats inside the jar. Condition is good, with no chips some light scratches here and there from age.

Nice vintage 1930s 1940s art deco style waterfall vanity/dresser with round mirror. It appears to have been fairly recently refinished except for the mirror. The knobs and handles have been painted. The veneer appears to have been replaced. It has dovetail joinings of the drawers. It is in fair condition-even though it has been refinished. It has some areas that need work. The veneer has some spots where it is not smooth and somewhat uneven and there are some depressions in it. There is a small gap between the middle dresser top and where the mirror attaches. The mirror has places around the edges where the silver is rubbing off. It has other various nicks, dents, and scratches consistent with its age. Condition: The frame is structurally sound… it has shallow scrapes. Scratches and old wall paint marks, signs of usage over the years. I had this mirror frame hung in the foyer just above an antique pedal sewing machine, having adopted it as a frame for a vintage print. a nice nostalgic“greeting” for visitors. UP FOR AUCTION: Here is a vintage dresser set. Faux ivory, made of celluloid. Some pieces are plain in off white light butterscotch color. Others are more ornate, like the tray, brush, and mirror. Included in this set are: a powder puff with bottom and lid, a powder set with two lids and two bottoms(looks like concentric circles) ornate mirror, ornate tray, ornate brush, nail file, button hook, small scissors, and shaving brush. There is also a small jar with lid, round in shape. Also a powder applicator and bottom that goes to it. The tray, brush, and hand held mirror look like they go together and are made by art-y-sans. The other pieces(excluding the shave brush) are made by Du Barry; they are celluloid or Pyralin.The art deco tray, mirror, and brush are most likely celluloid, too. They have amber or butterscotch colored undersides. Overall, ... morethere are 15 pieces in this set, including bases and tops to things. The tray has celluloid edges with a glass center that comes out. The tray measures approx. 7" X 10" The set is in nice, vintage condition. There is a mark on the tray. Also the ornate backs of the mirror and brush could be detailed. Some of the color that is part of the ornate pattern has been flecked away. This is a vintage celluloid/bakelite dresser tray with lace in the glass insert. The tray is brown on the back and the front is a yellow-green mother of pearl pattern. Each end is etched in an art deco pattern. As mentioned. A portion of one end on the tray has faded and the brown on the back shows through due to aging. Has outstanding detail floral inlay. V-matched mahogany and walnut, decorative handles with bakelite inserts, a custom fit beveled mirror and all drawers have dovetailed joints. Dresser measures 34 3/4" tall, 44" wide, 20" deep and with the mirror 69" tall. Tallboy measures 54" tall, 31 3/4" wide, 19 1/4" ... moredeep and has 4 large drawers. Headboard: 43 3/4" tall and 55 1/2" wide. Foot board: 23 1/2" tall and 56" wide. The only marking that i see is CO 370. Beautiful condition with light scratches and rubs from age and use that is common to all antique and used furniture. You would have to look long and hard to find a nicer set. This is a 1930-1940 Art Deco bedroom set that I recently acquired. It consist of the dresser and mirror(vaneer on back side of mirror is peeling- see picture& mirror glass itself just needs a cleaning) Bureau, full size head board and foot board. It does have bed side rails but the vaneer is peeled badly so I did not bother taking a photo.They fit perfectly with the head& foot boards and I assume any bedding would cover these rails or you can peel off the remaining vaneer and paint them.All of these pieces are on small casters/wheels. There are some snall nicks and also some surface blemishes from usage and age(see pictures) The dovetail jointed drawers work nicely, the units themselves are sturdy and solid. Nice finish on most of the areas. Nice backs. The yellow gold painted color edging is faded and slightly worn from usage and ... moreage as well. A great set for the price!
