This absolutely terrific antique. Circa 1810, New England maple wash stand is a marvelous and rare find these days, particularly in such nice unaltered condition. I've included a number of photographs including clear pictures of the construction of the drawer and table from the underside in an attempt to accurately represent the design, quality, condition, construction and age of this wonderful piece. This wash stand measures 34 inches tall to the top of the back mantle with a surface height of 29 inches. And is 19 inches wide by 18 3/4 inches deep, front to back with a wooden knob on the drawer that extends an inch beyond the front of the drawer. The lower shelf is 16 inches above the floor with 9 1/2 inches clearance above the shelf(or 12 inches clearance up within the sides of top shelf) The small drawer measures 14 1/8 inches wide ... moreby 14 inches front to back by 2 7/8 inches deep, providing some more private storage space as well. Scotland and was manufactured somewhere in either England or Scotland. This wonderful old wash stand cabinet has a spectacular multi-colored marble top with attached oak framed tiled back splash with lovely old off-white with yellow and green decoration tiles in two rows across the back and open cabinet space below behind the two lower doors is in very nice condition as shown in my multiple pictures from all sides. This is an antique carved wooden table or stand in very nice condition. I'm not sure if the wrought iron legs are original or not. But this is the way we found it. It has a spider crack split in the center part, looks like a split from age. There are 4 different carved tree like designs on the 4 corners, and the entire outside edge is a snake or serpent with scales and the point sticking out on the sides are supposed to be the heads. The raised round center part looks like it may have been for a wash bowl or perhaps it held a Chinese art pottery vase or vessel. I don't know the exact age but it does look like it could be an Asian piece. It is approx. 16 1/4in. by 16 1/2in. and standsust under 32in. tall. Antique Chest of Drawers Wash Stand Dresser
This is a well kept antique washstand built by Estey Manufacturing Co. The company is well known as makers of quality organs in Vermont. In 1869 they started producing furniture in Michigan and continued until approximately 1921. The washstand has curved serpentine double drawers as well as 2 additional drawers and a door to the right. It stands on its original wooden wheels. The drawers. Door and wheels all operate well for a piece of this age and the finish is in great condition. It's a perfect size for any room- perhaps even as a converted bathroom vanity or changing table. It measures 42" wide. 20" deep and 31" tall.
