It's an old Victorian sewing or dresser box covered in gorgeous sage green silk and dripping with gorgeous antique bridal lace. The lids is done with a rope trim and a rosette which has flattened out a bit. Looks like the top used to be pink but has since faded. Measures 10" x 10" x 3.5" tall. Inside is covered in a pretty faded pink plaid silk. It is in very good shape for it's age considering it's about 100 years old. There are a few light spots here and there but nothing horrible. The worst I saw was UNDER the lace where you don't see it. Not on the lace but under it. There ae a few tiny little holes in the silk but nothing horrible or unusual for the age. It's a gorgeous piece to sit out on your dresser or sewing stand to display. We have so many wonderful vintage treasures that we have picked up to list. This is a child size oak dresser(17" tall and 9 1/2" wide) that was made in 1957. Signed by the one who made the little dresser. It is made of oak with a mirror, has what looks like some tramp art on the front. It has a mirror on top and on the top of the dresser is a picture of a woman that is trimmed in satin around the picture. The same color ribbon is around the front and sides of the dresser. There are 4 drawers inside. There are initials on the front. The mirror has some streaks across it and one of the drawers bottoms is made of a cigar box. Beautiful mirror attached to the dresser. I would appreciate any information on a maker or an era which this furniture was made. The bedroom set is beautifully hand crafted with solid oak and veneers. The joints are all dove tail and it appears everything is individually hand crafted not machine made as far as carved accents and engraved pieces. This will need restoration to become the masterpiece it once was. I think there is only a couple tiny pieces missing that can easily be crafted which I think are at the very end of bed in the center design. the flaked veneers should be there also but may need new veneer work in my opinion. the dressers are on wood casters. Oak look Antique Highboy Dresser and ladies dressing table vanity set
Beautiful 3 pieces for your bedroom. All 3 pieces are in very good condition. Solid with dove tail drawer construction. Not sure of year it is from or what kind of wood. Ladies vanity has 2 drawers on either side then on the top of vanity on each side is a drawer. Wood posts are for mounting the mirror with hardware included. The vanity measures about 50 inches long and 20 inches wide. The highboy is about 36.5 inches by 19.5 inches and at the highest point at the decorative piece on top it is about 48 inches high. Has 3 larger drwers on bottom and on the top of chest the 2 side by side drawers. The beautiful and interesting top opens to a jewelry box with a mirrored lid.

100 yr. Old Painted Desk We have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. This oak secretary or writing chest is absolutely wonderful and is so much more attractive in person than the pictures. Every authentic antique painted piece of furniture of this nature is original unique and of its own beauty and this one is no exception. Green color is rich and deeper green in person than with camera flash. The green is likely an old oil based enamel or lead paint. The top surface is glared in a couple pictures appearing a different color but it is the same green color as the rest of the cabinet. The paint is not flaking or pealing but is still very strong adhering all over. Loads of character and charm. The whole piece is solid as a brick and not rickety or wobbly. I don't see ... moreany repairs or cracks etc. Typical wear that would be indigenous to this period and stature. I took a close up of damage on interior of the door around the drop hinge arm. Drawers function well and door closes nicely. I particularly like the shaker style going narrower to the floor as seen in the side profile. The detail in curvature of the drawer fronts is unique as well. There has been no back on the cabinet for many years. I have seen hundreds of secretaries in my days but have never seen this particular style before. This little cabinet is simply divine and could be used in so many rooms of a home to suite your taste.
