This marble top dresser/ chest has gorgeous crotch mahogany on the drawer fronts surrounded by beautiful ribbon molding and the original wood pulls. This splendid dresser/ chest measures a total height of 80 inches to the top of the mirror. Height to the top of the marble top glove boxes is 39 inches, height to the marble top center measures 34 inches, a total width of 43 1/2 inches wide and 19 inches deep and weighs approximately 160 lbs. The gorgeous wishbone mirror is framed in crotch mahogany with beaded trim and rests in matching arm supports(old repair on left arm support.see close-up) The width of the mirror frame measures 27 1/2 inches and the old original mirror measures 27 1/2 inches high by 15 1/2 inches wide. The wishbone mirror rests is a turned mahogany slot on top of the center storage drawer flanked by marble top glove box drawers and a drop marble top center.The base offers three large storage drawers each having gorgeous crotch mahogany fronts, wood pulls and beautiful ribbon mahogany trim that encases each drawer. All the drawers have early period dove-tailing, and all the locks are intact but we do not have the key. There are two small spots where the veneer is missing(about 1 inch long on the left side above the second and third drawer) and the left wood pull on the top center drawer has been repaired, also a piece of the vertical ribbon molding is missing on the bottom right side at the base corner. This is a wonderful example of a Classic American Empire Marble Top Chest/ Dresser circa 1840's and is fine quality. Solid and very sturdy and has a commanding presence all of its own! A most unusual antique. Circa 1840's, Empire period flame mahogany veneered and solid mahogany man's petite dresser. Lifting up and back of the top exposes a gray veined white marble surround, the underside of lid with the original very wavy mirror. The case holds four drawers with butterflied flame mahogany veneer fronts, the drawer interiors in oak. The case is on casters. The dresser measures 37-1/2" tall by 28" wide by 16" deep. Very good plus condition: damage is a horizontal crack to board and veneer across the top board of the lid. Both veneered sides have vertical shrinkage cracks. Includes all the locks and the key. The marble slabs are without chips, or stains. The right side marble piece has been broken in two and cemented back. The mirror is fine. The original finish has aged to almost an ebony color.

There is a couple small nicks along the edge of the top. The top only has one screw holding it on. Some one has painted the sides brown. U p for auction is this magnificent Empire Style Solid Mahogany Man’s Chiffonier from around the 1830’s. The dresser was re-finished many years ago but the mirror was never re-finished. The drawers are dove-tailed and very thick. This does not have veneer. It is solid beautiful wood. It stands about 72’ tall and approx. 40” wide and is on the original castors. Antique Empire Dresser (You Pick Up In Orange County, California)
Not sure of age. I am guessing 1800s to early 1900s. You may know better than I. Knobs have a mother of pearl design except for one knob which is different than all the others. There is a chunk missing on bottom of dresser. See pics. Some scratching and wear. See pics for idea of size and details. I have had this dresser for over 20 years. Beautiful grain and tons of character. I purchased it from an antiques store in San Bernardino. California. I was told it was from England. That's all the history I know. Minimum bid is a fraction of what I paid for it back then. I am in the process of relocation so this dresser(as much as I love it) must go. You pick this dresser up in Dana Point. California. This listing is for an antique wooden shaving mirror. This fine piece features an all wooden frame that is hinged by two decorative dowels and sits on a footed stand with one drawer. It has original glass that has wear and a really nice look. The wood veneer is in great shape and the piece overall has a great look. Antique JEWELED & FOOTED ORMOLU Vanity Dresser Tray w/ BOW HANDLES by EMPIRE ART
This is a beautiful Empire Art Gold& J.B Dresser tray. The tray features over 125 prong set emerald faceted glass jewels bordering the entire tray. Engraved above the jewels are embossed wreaths and bows. The bow handles are also beautifully engraved. The tray measures 13" long and 7" wide and sits on 4 ball feet. The condition is very good. With no missing jewels, some light wear to the gold finish and a few light scratches to the glass, but no breaks, cracks or repairs. The back has a tag which reads: EMPIRE ART GOLD& J.B. Empire Dresser, mahogany, mirror veneer, ca. 1830, Antique, good condition
An Empire Bureau. Or chest of drawers made of mahogany in the early half of the 19th century. This is a grand piece of furniture that would look great in any large space-hallway, large master bedroom, dining room. We had it in our hallway in a 1803 house in upstate New York. There are four large drawers and three small drawers at the top. The largest drawer is directly below the three small top drawers, consistent with the style. Drawer fronts are a mirror veneer, rest of the wood is solid. The drawer pulls are brass. This is a solid, well-built dresser. It is heavy. It stands about 52 inches high, is about 47 inches wide and about 21 inches deep. The drawers are about 16 inches deep. The finish is in relatively good condition; there are scrapes, scuffs, nicks and scratches but it would not necessarily need any work. There is a crack in the ... morewood on one of the sides(visible in photo) The drawer slides could use some repair work, but the drawers function. I believe that the dresser is from the early half of the 19th century because the nails used on the back boards are type I cut(photographed) The back boards are soft wood with a rich brown patina on the back, the part exposed to air. A 19th century Empire chest of drawers in figured light wood. Measuring approximately 39" tall, 45.5" wide, and 25" deep at the bottom(its deepest point) We do not know the maker. There is wear and tear commensurate with age and use, including a few veneer issues on the feet(please see photos) It is structurally sound and there are no major problems.
