I am unsure of the age or origins of the piece. It is hallmarked on the back and the bottom with a series of numbers, and Maple. I believe that it may date to the 1940s. The drawer has rabbit joints. The entire piece is 26.5” tall at the top of the mirror, 10” tall at the top of the box, 19.5” wide, and 8.25” front to back. It is a beautiful old piece that is collectible, useful, and in great condition.

1920s dressing table set. celluloid bakelite. art deco manicure set Antique 1920s dressing table set made of celluloid and possibly Bakelite. It consists of the tray and matching 5 piece manicure set. The set is art deco. The front of the tray and manicure pieces are marbleized celluloid in a light creamy amberyellow color. Trimmed with black art deco design around edges. Backs and sides are a dark more of an orange color, and could be make from Bakelite, but could also be celluloid. The tray bottom is ecru embroidered lace encased in glass. Tray is oval shaped and is scalloped at ends. The manicure set pieces consists of a cuticle tool, scissors, a fingernail file, a button hook and a shoehorn. In the first photo above. The shoehorn is lying face down with the orange or dark amber Bakelite showing. You can see the front of the shoehorn the ... morecreamy marbleized celluloid side in the other photos. BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE SOLID SILVER DRESSING TABLE DISH WITH LID AND PORCELAIN LINER BY COALPORT– EDWARDIAN ERA BY HENRY CLIFFORD DAVIS HALLMARKED BIRMINGHAM 1909 This is a beautiful solid silver dressing table pot with its original white porcelain liner by Coalport. Hallmarked for the late Edwardian era in 1909. It has a silver lid with an attractive engine-turned pattern of lines around a blank circular cartouche. Polished mirror sides and stands on three claw feet. There are no personal monograms or inscriptions of any kind. The pictures do not do this elegant piece of silver justice– it was difficult to photograph due to reflections. HALLMARKS: The hallmarks are on the base of the silver holder and the lid. On the lid there is a further lion passant and date letter“k” to show that the lid and base are matched and original. APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS/WEIGHT: It is 6cm in diameter and 3cm in height. Including the feet which are 1cm. The silver holder alone weighs 27g and the liner 24g. So a total weight of 51g. CONDITION: Both the holder and the liner are in very good condition. Especially considering their age. There are the usual surface marks common to silver as it is a very soft metal. There are a few small. Slight dings and light scratches here and there, only noticeable on close inspection. Any other marks are reflections only. The claw feet are in good order and it stands secure and even. The hinge on the lid is also in good order and it seems to open and shut fine. As noted above. It was difficult to photograph due to reflections. Overall. ANTIQUE CUT CRYSTAL GLASS AND SILVER TOPPED POWDER/COSMETIC/VANITY/DRESSING TABLE JAR BY WILLIAM HENRY SPARROW- HALLMARKED LONDON 1919 This is a really lovely antique powder/cosmetic/vanity/dressing table solid silver topped jar by William Henry Sparrow. Hallmarked for London 1919, one year after the end of the First World War. It is a very classy piece with a simple. Elegant silver top and beautifully cut crystal glass body with a lovely sunburst or flower pattern on the base. We are not sure if the silver top is the original one for the jar as it fits but not snugly. The pictures do not do this lovely silver topped jar justice– it was difficult to photograph the detail of the cut glass in particular. HALLMARKS: The lid bears the full English silver hallmarks externally on the rim. They are: the letters“W.H.S” for William Henry Sparrow; ... morethe letter gothic“d” for 1919; the lion passant denoting solid English silver; the Leopard’s Head for the London Assay Office. The weight is very heavy for its size due to the lead crystal of the glass– the silver top is 11g and the jar is 150g. So a total weight of 161g. CONDITION: Overall. The glass is in very good condition– there are no major chips or cracks, just tiny nibbles on the protruding edges, as you would expect from a jar of this age and not noticeable. The silver top is also in very good condition. Especially considering its age. There are no holes. It has some little dints in it and a slight indentation in a line across it which has lowered the rim a bit just above the hallmarks. As noted above. We are not sure if this is the original top as it fits but not snugly. This is a lovely antique silver topped powder jar from just after the end of the First World War. A quite magnificent piece of Art Nouveau. As useful as beautiful, this stylish hand mirror is made from sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1913, celebrating it's 100 year this year. The makers initials, W.B over Ld into a heart, for the silversmith, Williams(Birmingham) Ltd. The back features a stylized lady with long flowing hair and a flower in her hair enjoying a Sunrise design. Underneath is decorated with stylized flowers and foliage and the handle with Lilies. Here is a fabulous very old Antique 19th Century Ornate Bronze Standing Dressing Table Shaving Mirror featuring Griffins. Cherubs, reticulated foliage, a torch top; all sensational. The mirror portion is tin that has aged to a bronzy patina with a foggy reflection. The easel portion has a wire replacement but does still stand. This wonderful bench or stool was acquired by my grandfather for use with a spectacular Louis XV style grand piano. It is larger and more deeply upholstered than many piano benches. And it is possible that it was originally intended for use with a dressing table or as a window seat. It is also easy to imagine it as extra seating near a sofa or even as a coffee table if used with a tray. In any event, it is obviously a piece that can serve in a variety of ways. This piece is approximately 38 inches long. 21 inches wide, and 21.5 inches tall. I have classified it as cherry. Though it is most likely walnut or some other fruitwood. It is structurally sound and, in my opinion, in very good condition given its age. I believe that it was made no later than the'20s, but I am not an expert. This extremely slow growing hardwood was imported from British India and was a popular vanity set material with both men and women from around the turn of the century to the mid 1920s. Set around a central vacant cartouche. With a gadrooned edge& pie crust border. In lovely condition with minimal evidence of use. There are no dings or dents. Pair of vintage / antique glass dressing table lamps with etched hurricanes OLD
Gorgeous pair of glass(crystal? i have no idea) lamps w/ etched hurricane shades. Stands approx 13" tall w/ dangling crystals( These are very old. They still have the original wiring. See photo for picture of power switches. There is no actual damage to them but here's what I can see. The metal portions(2 rings on the stems) and the metal part where the hurricane glass sit and the undercarriage show slight surface rust, I trust these can be replace or reworked. The cardboard sleeve below the bulb shows its age, but can be replaced as well. The crystals hang by wire that is fashioned into a swirl, a couple of those need to be twisted back like the others. The bottom rim of the hurricane glass has a couple of flea bites but does not show as it sits in the holder. These lamps are beautiful just as they are! This fine English George III Mahogany Dressing Table retains a level of originality that is difficult to maintain with such a complex and practical piece. Retaining a mellowed and regularly waxed early surface, the whole highly patinated, the case makes a fine presentation. The top lifts over original hinges to reveal a large partitioned interior with various compartments, both opened and lidded, an inkwell, a pincushion and a pair of original forged tin buckets. The center boasts an original mirror in a mahogany and satinwood veneered frame over an oak frame with dovetailed corners- the dovetails of the corners are so tiny ... moreand precise, clearly formed by a highly skilled craftsman, matching the quality of the dovetails framing the oak frame of the top flaps. A pair of graduated drawers on either side flank a broad single drawer beneath three faux drawers. Each with cockbead molding framing satinwood stringer inlay around the mahogany veneer and central round stamped brass pulls. The concave shape of the skirt allows a chair to be easily pulled up to the table while retaining the austerity of an almost squared profile. The right and left sides of the case are embellished with a circular satinwood inlaid ring, lending harmony to the round profile of the brass pulls. The top of the case is incredibly attractive, the right and left sides book-matched plum pudding mahogany veneers of a deep and warm tone, well patinated and framed in the same stringer satinwood inlay- note the loss at the back left corner of stringer inlay. Some discoloration is under the glass and to the lace(probably caused by original glue that secures the lace to the glass) The brass needs thorough cleaning and polishing and there is also specks of dust between the glass(as can be seen in the close up photos)

The original bevelled mirror is finished with pierced and decorated timber framing to the top and to the side supports. The dressing table sits on turned legs and has its original casters. This piece presents in quite original condition, with a nice mellow tone without artificial shine. This wonderfully versatile antique piece measures approximately 98cm wide. 48.5cm deep and stands approximately 176cm high. The timber surface is 83.5cm high. Condition is very good though the surface does have some age knocks. The drawers run smoothly to make this a highly functional piece. As with all quality antique furniture.
