Ebony screw top needle case with solid silver embellishment. Silver hallmarked London 1920. Maker William Reeves, it has decorative engravings around a vacant cartouche, no rubbing whatsoever. Tube measures 4.25 inches tall, 1.25 inches in diameter, stamped'EBONY' to the base. All silver corners have vacant cartouches and are hallmarked London 1920, makers mark H F Daltrey& Co. the engravings are very clear, not at all rubbed and the hallmarks distinct. Traveling Mainland China in the pursuit of unique pieces. Each piece has been hand picked. I utilized artisans in Zhongshan. China for minor restorations such as hardware. Paint and paintings. Each piece was wrapped in bubble wrap and then cardboard for shipment to the USA. Super sized moisture packs were made and utilized in the ship containers to reduce the moisture content which destroys these treasures. Each piece is a GENUINE antique. Pieces were acquired from local flea markets. Estate sales and mostly direct from individual households. Carved panels were removed from ancient homes being destructed for land use changes such as factories ect. I have dated each piece based on construction ... moretechnique. Antique Edwardian ebony dressing table set 1 x hair brush. 1 x clothes brush, 1 x hand held bevelled edge mirror Each item has a decorative silver coloured'L' motif. Each piece is marked either'EBONY' or'REAL EBONY' This super set is in very good used condition commensurate with age. There are no chips. Cracks etc in the wood. The mirror is still clear. However there is some tarnishing just around the edge. This is surely to be expected when you consider the age of this item. The bristles on both brushes are stiff and firmly attached. The mirror is 27cm(l) x 17cm(w) The hair brush is 26cm long and the clothes brush is 17.5cm long It may originally have been part of a complete ebony dressing table set which were very popular among Victorian and Edwardian ladies and gentlemen. Description Welcome to my Auction. For a lovely. Large, sterling solid silver(925) cut glass dressing table bowl. Fully Hallmarked for Chester 1903. Silversmiths Makers mark which are slightly rubbed- JC& Co" possibly- J Collyer& Co) Further stamped with"F" showing it was imported. The bowl being in superb condition for its age. The solid silver lid is decorated with stunning repousse work of acanthus leaves. Scrolls& flowers with a central raised cartouche which is not engraved. The plain edge lip of the lid is in good condition too with 3 very minor& tiny pin size dings. The stunning cut glass is decorated around the bowl with 20 vertical cut& raised patterns of lots of diamond cut shapes. With close scrutiny to one of the vertical cuts I can see a very slight chip to a diamond high point. This is extremely ... morehard to see. The bowl is further enhanced with a star cut base. Absolutely stunning. Measures approx- 7cms or 2.7 inches across the lid top- 6.6 cms or 2.7 inches in height. Weighs approx- 300 grams. Antique dressing table talcum pot and lid Lacquered ebony wooden vanity jar
A handsome little antique powder pot. Presumably Edwardian. Or thereabouts. The pot is about three inches tall. And once formed part of a dressing-table set. The base is marked: REAL EBONY Condition Excellent condition. The lid screws on nice and tightly. To keep your powder dry. There are traces of powder still in the pot. There is a small hairline crack in the lid. As shown in the photographs, but this is relatively trivial, and does not affect the working of the lid at all. The lacquer has kept the surface of the wood nice and smooth. But there are some small marks and surface scratches from normal use over the course of the last century. A pair of dressing table or side table embroidered doilies dating from the 1920s/ 30s. These belonged to my grandmother many years ago. She was very fond of this type of thing. Antique 1916 Mahogany Dresser / Dressing Table / Vanity with Mirror
THIS ITEM IS FOR LOCAL PICKUP IN IRWIN. PA 15642 ONLY. NO SHIPPING. Antique vanity/ dresser/ dressing table with mirror. The finish is a dark brown. As shown in the pictures. The facing is missing in a couple places. The mirror has two side mirrors that fold in and out. It has 5 drawers; each drawer has a lock mechanism that looks like it accepts the old style skeleton keys, but I don't have a key for it. The size is about 20 inches deep, 44 inches wide, and 59 inches high. Although I can't tell what they mean, there are several markings on it. Stamped into the wood on the back are the numbers 4474 and 57. 4474 seems like it was important to the manufacturer, because it is in 3 separate places. The mirror is very delicately attached to the dresser. I took the wooden back panel off the mirror to see how it was attached and figure out ... morehow to make it more sturdy, and discovered that the back of the mirror is stenciled with the date June 13, 1916 and an"N" and a"P" which may be the mirror manufacturer's logo. On the inside of the wooden back panel are the words"4474 Mahogany" hand written in cursive pencil. The number"48-88" is stenciled inside the back panel also. 4474 Mahogany Toilet" is also hand written in pencil inside one of the left hand drawers, along with what looks to be the"48-88" again. I looked online but couldn't find information on what these numbers mean or where the vanity came from(or how much it's really worth) I also don't know if"Mahogany" is meant to be the color of the finish, or the type of wood it's made of. The mirror doesn't come off for transportation. It is attached only with 4 screws through the wood mirror frame into the desk part. Which is why the center mirror rocks back and forth a little when the vanity is moved. It could be braced more securely but I don't want to put more screws into it, the new owner can do that. Hallmarked Sterling Silver and was made in 1860 by William Moulson, meaning this set is 153 years old! Heavy Victorian design, with neoclassical masks, figures and swirls– Stunning set. William Moulson was based in London. England and set up business in 1841 as a subsidiary of Lambert& Rawlings. First partners were John Wrangham and William Moulson joined in 1823 by Paul Siddall. It’s in overall good condition for a set that is 153 years old. The are some small perforations In the silver work, these are photographed, though as you can see they don’t detract from the beauty of this set. The mirror glass is in good order. No chips, cracks or ... morerepairs. The bristles have been cleaned and are intact, with minimal loss or wear. This would look stunning set out on a dressing table. I purchased this piece at an Estate Sale years ago and I was given a small piece of an article in a european newspaper that I have attached a picture of. The article shows a picture that looks to be this piece and the it reads"An exquisite Adam period inlaid dressing table. Circa 1780 exhibiting at the Governors House Art& Antiques Fair 9th-18th June 1994. Stand 42" This piece is very rare! Antique Sideboard/ Dresser/ Dressing Table/
I am selling a gorgeous antique sideboard/ dresser! Fantastic item in great condition! The unit used to be a dressing table with a mirror sitting on the top which I do have(read on) Hence the cut outs and two tiny wholes on the top! I am unsure of the wood. I think its oak but I am unsure! Decorative designs and trim on the door and draw fronts, with barley twist front legs. With two cupboards(one with shelf) and two deep draws the sideboard has plenty of storage. As I mentioned before. I do have the mirror that originally sat on top of the dresser, however it isn't in very good condition and so would need to be refurbished! And questions or additional photos please ask! An antique wooden dressing table tray. Probably made in the Art Deco period, or thereabouts. The base is marked: EBONY MADE IN ENGLAND This tray is an elegant shape. With a rectangular tray, on a curved base, supported on four little feet, as shown. The tray has its original divider. Condition: Excellent condition. Small marks and surface scratches from normal use. Especially on the base. The only fault I can see. Is that some of the screw covers are missing- this is, of course, only visible from the base, as shown. Please see photographs.
