Or mirror stand& vanity dating from the early Showa period between1930 and the early 50's boasts ... morean adjustable 3 way mirror that creates multiple reflections, made in a beautiful extra thick quality glass with beveled borders that still has a very clear reflection for its age. The center below the mirror is adorned with a textured glass surface reflecting a pale blue colour. Its Art deco lines, adorned with a lovely stripy grain veneer in a golden shade are accented by silver tone openwork handles. Small drawers offer space for accessories or make-up and it can easily fit on a night stand, chest or work top making it an very useable and versatile piece. It is in excellent overall condition for its age with no major damage. There are some slight bubbles in the veneer in a couple of places. And one small chip has been filled on the middle drawer. The attachment between the mirror and the stand is slightly wobbly on the left hand side, but stable. Wood frame has been covered in red velvet. Beveled mirror. Mirror is original and somewhat cloudy from age. I actually like it this way. Wood easel back. The screws are poking through the front. I have the metal pins which I will include. I believe this piece is French in origin. Circa 1880s to early 1900s is my estimate. This is remarkable considering it's age. The dresser has 3 parts- the mirror assembly. The marble mid-section, and the oak base cabinet. The mirror is attached with 2 wooden rear slats which extend to the base cabinet& screws that hold it rigid. The marble rests on the base. It is solid and sturdy. It stands evenly on the floor. The buyer can take this dresser home& use it, guaranteed to have a major effect on a room when it comes to decorating. Guaranteed antique- not a reproduction. This will retain value- about 100 years old, perhaps more. DESCRIPTION: The dresser has a 3section mirrored top consisting of a frame with arching top ... moremolding with a carved horizontal over 1/4 round fluted side columns. The center miror is stationary with side mirrors that are hinged& swing out almost 180 degrees. All mirrors have wide bevels. Excellent silvering without blemishes. The marble section is white with a thin grey lines from the stone. It is not composit or manufactured stone. It is clean, no chips, no repairs. The mirror rests on the rear of the top shelf which is over a marble galleried backsplash and opposing side sections. The flat top surface is clean& smooth white marble, all marble is matching and original to the piece. The base cabinet has 2 pull out drawers over 2 swing out doors which open to a large interior with a center horizontal shelf. The base has 1/4 round fluted columns which match the mirror and a center vertical with carving and a burled oval decoration. The pulls are brass, the locks work, a key is provided. The dresser is clean inside, the drawers are not stained, there are no odors, was not stored in a damp location(it's in our house) the drawers slide easily, locks work, this is a nice piece of furniture. This beautiful late nineteenth to early twentieth century quartersawn oak sideboard has beautiful carvings including g riffins on top. Carved lion feet, a large beveled mirror with candle stands and long display shelf above as well as a lovely server surface, drawers and open cabinet space behind decorative doors below. The wood grains on this pieces are gorgeous, the front edge has a slight serpentine front and the detailed carvings including applique and trip work are spectacular and appear to be intact. This piece is on it's original casters so it can be moved easily. I show the casters in close up behind the decorative front carved lion's foot. This large sideboard stands 79 inches tall and measures 47 1/2 inches wide by 22 inches deep. Front to back. It travels safely and easily in two parts. The base is 38 inches tall and includes ... moretwo small drawers, each 18 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 4 inches deep, one of which is a buffet drawer, lined in old maroon felt. Below them is another large drawer, 38 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back ans 5 1/4 inches deep. Below the drawers behind the two lovely doors with the beautiful wood applique is open cabinet space 42 inches wide by 15 1/2 inches front to back and 14 inches tall. Art deco charles rennie mackintosh inspired welsh dresser. Well after much pondering we have decided to sell our family dresser. It was bought by my father in the late 1960's from auction and has been in our family ever since. For the last 10 years it has been in storage and we have now awaken it from its slumber. Trust me, if we could fit it into our house or our relations house it would not being sold, it is just too large for Mr Average's house, which of course makes it much more exclusive. These were in big demand in the 1960's and 1970's but then wained but now there is a resurgence for those that have the space to display them as they should be displayed. OK the bad points(not many! One of the doors does not close due to being stored on a slight slope, this is easily fixed by wedging the body over time or sanding down ... morethe edge of the door(a few millimeters is all that is required) One door is locked and the key is missing but its in our house somewhere and was taken down with the dresser happy to send it on once we find it(bizzare- we have this since the 60's and in the last furlong we loose the key! thats about it everything else looks ok apart from the od scratch here and there and some wood split of a hairline nature. The original mirror fixing screws are still present and come with the mirror. The mirror part is detached for the pictures. Which are not great as it was difficult to photograph in our garage(Steve McQueen is not for sale neither is the handsome chap reflected in the mirror! It is still very dusty but will come up fantastic with some proper cleaning and wood cleaning treatment. thats about it really. Its a sad day for me and short of buying a bigger house there is no way of keeping it. The body is 5 feet long x 2 feet deep x 3 feet 4 inches high. The mirror part is 5 feet long. 8 inches deep and 3 feet 4 inches high. This makes it 6 feet 8 inches high when assembled. This is a very pretty vintage vanity set marked sterling 3286 and a W in a wreath for Woodside Sterling Co. NY NY 1896 to 1925 then Richard M Woods and Co. in 1920s. The silver set is from a very high end estate. The mirror is 7" by 5 1/4" and beveled. The mirror is nice but the silver has two obvious dent on top side and a smaller lighter dent next to it also on side. There is a 1/4" scratch on top. See all photos. The brush is 9" by 3" and the brush section is soiled. The silver has a 3mm tear on edge from brush being inserted. See photo. Also a microscopic less than 2mm light ding on handle and a 3mm ding on side of handle. See photo. This is a sweet late Victorian or Edwardian set with the floral pansy or violet motif. This unusual horseshoe shaped mirror is intended for dresser or table use. It has two 3/4" brass ball feet and a hinged prop-arm stand to hold it upright. It has a 1 3/4" wide frame. I'm not sure of the wood. But it's tight-grained with the original finish& appears to be possibly cherry or mahogany. This mirror stands 12 1/4" tall and is 10 1/2" in width at its widest point. The frame is approximately 3/4" in thickness. The mirror has a 1" bevelled edge and its area measured to the frame rabbet is 7" W. x 8 1/2"H. The prop is 8" L& 1 1/2 W. The mirror shows some small areas of silver loss and the frame has some minor finish damage at the edges. But over-all, it is in very good antique condition. The ornate design is cut open metal with gorgeous gold leaf patina and it appears to be possibly French. It is all original with metal backing. Antique Victorian Nickel Plated Shaving Mirror circa 1800’s This item is a beautiful 1800's Antique Victorian Nickel Plated Swivel Shaving Beveled Mirror which has been in our antique collection since the early 1970’s. It is adjustable in height simply by unscrewing the thumb screw and extending or lowering the upper"telescopic" section. The mirror swivels 180 degrees. It is structurally very sound. Condition is very good for an item from the 1800’s with some very minor spots of corrosion here and there which I believe could be polished out. I did not polish this item as many collectors appreciate and prefer a naturally aged patina. If you prefer to shine it up you can polish it out with some silver cleaner and it will clean up beautifully. The beveled mirror has some aged damage to the silvering but the silvering in general ... moreis very clear save these damaged areas. You can take this beveled mirror to a glass shop for re-silvering and polishing if you desire. The base has some small dings. Surface scratches and some minor corrosion. Once again it could be polished if you desire. Please look closely at the pictures and ask questions you prior to bidding. Very nice condition. One small spot on the finish on the wood tray is worn. You can see it in the picture. The mirror shows age. Not chipped or cracked. You can see faint blotches that are typical of old mirrors but does not affect looking in it or the appearance.Most of what you see in the mirror is reflection. I believe the base is oak but my husband is away and he usually confirms for me. I know its a hard wood. Not pine. It has a nice brown finish. The Mirror is beveled. It stand just under 12" tall and wide. There is a place to put you cuff links.Tie clips ect. It looks like a Men's Vanity mirror but It looks beautiful on any dresser, even a woman's.
