This dresser is a 1800's Serpentine Dresser and was my husband’s Great Grandmother’s. His Great Grandma died in 1978 at 99 years old. As far as he knows its was originally bought by her family and has been passed down from generation to generation. The mirror has a beveled edge and is in good condition. No cracks. We do not know what kind of wood this is. In the light it looks like oak. And in other light it appears darker. You be the judge. All the drawer pulls are attached and believed to be original. There are pictures of the edge of the drawers to show how they were put together with a tooth pattern. There are rolling casters on the bottom of the legs. Also believed to be original. This is an antique American Empire mahogany dresser with swivel mirror from the 1890's. It is labeled inside top drawer with a tag that reads Colbys. Founded 1866, Hand made. This is in beautiful condition for an antique of this age with no major breaks, cracks, missing pieces or damage and is very heavy and well made. The mirror does show some fadeing on the inside. There are 4 drawers, two large 8" deep on the bottom and 2 smaller 5" deep drawers on top. This has a gorgeous rich mahogany finish, stylish bowed front drawers that are dovetailed with original pulls, supportive columns on either side with turned 6" feet along with original steel wheels. Up for sale we have a most attractive Antique Shaving Dresser Mirror. This piece can be used on top of a dresser or any place in the home a beautiful Antique mirror would be appreciated. The mirror is in outstanding condition for a piece from the late 19th century. The base has bun feet and the sides have nicely hand turned finials. The mirror measures 22 tall by 21" wide at the base by 9 1/2" in depth. The mirror itself is 16" tall by 15" wide in its frame. It works beautifully and has its original mounts in excellant shape. It stands up straight and firm with no wobbling. There are three spots on the base that have veneer chips(see pictures) There are a couple of surface scratches on the back covering that can be easily touched up. We will have it done for the delivery. The mirror itself is also amazing for its age, ... moreas there is only one very fine scratch that we can find on it. Any other flaws are not seen and the piece is in fine shape with only normal wear for its antiquity. Here is a terrific set. I would consider them to be a man's vanity set, and I think the bristles to to the brush are boar hair. Each is marked'International Sterling' Excellent condition except for some fading/spotting in part of the mirror. Antique Brass Nautical / Art Deco Style Dresser Vanity Glass Beveled Mirror
Up for auction is a very unique find. This came from an old estate sale in Central PA. This brass dresser/ vanity mirror measures 16 ½ tall by 15” wide. It’s made of brass and has a beveled mirror with webbed feet. As for the style I’m not totally sure where it falls because of the different elements I see in the mirror. It has no dents or chips and has a great patina. The only information I could find on the mirror is the number“2” on the feet and the number“06” on the top of the stand. Antique Tiger Oak Victorian Era c.1880 Round Shaving Mirror- On Tilting Frame- DESCRIPTION A handsome antique shaving mirror on tilting stand. Made entirely of solid tiger oak grained wood. The mirror frame, tilting arms, base and round ball feet all with beautiful graining visable. This one is from the late Victorian era circa 1880's. It's in original untouched condition, not refinished. It also retains the original mirror glass and backing for the round mirror. The round mirror frame is 1" wide and has a deep beveled edge. The two arms have knobs at the sides that can be loosened allowing you to tilt the framed mirror portion. Tightening the knob will then hold it in that fixed position. The arms have lovely turnings and are mortised through the wide shaped chamferred edge base. The base has four round ball feet. We've ... moreleft this as found. We have not polished or refinished the wood it is completly original. Shows good wear, but no splits or cracks or breaks in the wood. And we have not removed the original mirror glass from the frame. As expected with mirror glass of this age, it does show wear to the silvering. Of course, if you like, you could replace the mirror with contemporary mirror glass. We like it just the way it is. Showing it's good age. Size: 12-1/4" high overall- 15-3/4" long and 5-1/2" wide at the base- mirror frame measures 9-3/4" across CONDITION Very Good. The wood has not been refinished. Antique Empire Dresser, mahogany, mirror veneer, 19th century, good condition
An Empire Bureau. Or chest of drawers made of mahogany in the early half of the 19th century. This is a grand piece of furniture that would look great in any large space-hallway, large master bedroom, dining room. We had it in our hallway in a 1803 house in upstate New York. There are four large drawers and three small drawers at the top. The largest drawer is directly below the three small top drawers, consistent with the style. Drawer fronts are a mirror veneer, rest of the wood is solid. The drawer pulls are brass. This is a solid, well-built dresser. It is heavy. It stands about 52 inches high, is about 47 inches wide and about 21 inches deep. The drawers are about 16 inches deep. The finish is in relatively good condition; there are scrapes, scuffs, nicks and scratches but it would not necessarily need to be refinished. There is a crack ... morein the wood on one of the sides(visible in photo) The drawer slides could use some repair work, but the drawers function. I believe that the dresser is from the early half of the 19th century because the nails used on the back boards are type I cut(photographed) The back boards are soft wood with a rich brown patina on the back, the part exposed to air. Antique Victorian Drop Center Marble Top Dresser w/ Pivot Mirror
A very cute little dresser brought up from Georgia to the Asheville NC area 20 years ago. Judging from the style and the candle shelves on either side. Late 19th Century. Features the original marble. Clean and unbroken, the original antique mirror, all of the original drawer pulls of figured brass, and the original casters. Original finish- has not been stripped. Stands about 80 inches high and 16 inches deep- it is a smallish piece and stands nice and shallow out from the wall- perfect for a small guest room or an accent to a large room. I'm not certain. But the wood is probably walnut. The five drawers all work just fine and have unusual'round peg dovetailing' construction(shown above in a detail shot) The hardware is ALL original EXCEPT that the bolts that originally held the pivoting mirror have been replaced by heavy screws. ... moreWhich doesn't affect the look of it too much(and they could be fairly inexpensively restored with something vintage) The mirror section is removable to facilitate moving. A very handsome piece. With minimal scratches and wear. The hand-carved details are a bit on the rustic side and not terribly fussy or'polished' workmanship. Almost folk arty. It is a solid piece and nice and usable still, with a decidedly'country' feel to it. The piece is actually quite light once the drawers are pulled out for transport and is not too heavy to lift at all. I love the carved details and personality of the thing! I do not want to ship it if I can help it- would prefer local sale. We live in Mars Hill. North Carolina, just 20 minutes from Asheville and easy directions to find us. I can help move it as well. This is an authentic Eastlake dresser with it's original hardware and mirror- the mirror isn't in the picture. It has it's original hardware. The top is pink granite and not attached. I believe it was a replacement top. Made in USA in the 1890s or so. Seems to be made of maple and stained a walnut finish. I've owned it 25 years. Minor scuffs but that is it's history and character as a an antique that has been used by generations. It's as I purchased it. It is well worth $250. Measures: 40" wide x 30" tall x 18" deep.
