FRENCH LOUIS XV STYLE INLAID MARBLE TOP COMMODE Early 20th Century Item# 1408KIT10P Exquisitely inlaid. The surface of this fine commode is a vivid display of flowers and foliage on intermingling vines over a parquetry background. The mounts on either corner are heavily acanthus in nature, rather bold and conforming appropriately with the Rococo naturalism of the pulls and central apron motif. The sabots are typical for the style, very nicely cast and of appropriate substance for the size of the case. The castings are of medium fine detail, ranking above most peers of it's period in terms of chasing and filing of details. The craftsmanship is impeccable, the top revealing a mixture of tongue-in-groove and dovetail joinery while both drawers are crafted with large dovetails at the front and back joints using solid golden oak planks. ITALIAN NEOCLASSICAL STYLE MARQUETRY INLAID MARBLE TOP COMMODE 20th Century Item# 120008IRU26 Veneered in mahogany and rosewood. The colors of this attractive commode are earthy and relaxed, the neutral palette easily adopted into most design settings. The entire surface is inlaid with some rather intricate marquetry work, the musical instruments central to the commode are flanked on either side by books hanging from knotted ribbon, the same arrangement employed on either side of the case. Two large drawers make up the case, each crafted of solid oak secondaries dovetailed front and back. The chair features French, Louis XV style and it is very ornate. The back and exterior seat are cane, with the cane in good condition. The large belt is designed to conceal the pot or bidet. It has an interesting, carved pattern which incorporates floral accents and acanthus"wings" The chair has cabriole legs and carved acanthus accents on the feet. The belt of the chair, as well as the seat, are contoured on the front profile. The seat is hinged with the hinges on the interior. The cane seat raises to reveal the wooden toilet seat. This seat also raises for access to the chamber pot. The belt of the chair extends on the front and side profiles. It is not present on ... morethe back profile as the bidet could be accessed here as well. The chair is finished in an antique white/cream with light splatters of dark brown. There are gilded accents on the carved sections and on the chair back. It do not know if the finish is original. The chair is old, around the turn of the century. The chair back is pieced at the arch/crown, not one piece as in more modern designs. The chair is very sturdy and it is heavy. It is in very good condition with some scuffs to the paint in a few areas. This listing is for the chair only as the pot is not present. This style is not commonly seen and rarely seen in this condition. This is a beautiful chair. The chair measures 38.25" tall. It is 21.5" wide and 22" front to back. Antique 3 Pc Bath Chamber Set Basin Pitcher Commode Large Orchid England M L Co
Very impressive Victorian 3 piece matching chamber set. You get the pitcher. Basin and 3 piece slop-jar or commode. Made by Moore Leason& Co. around the 1890's in England. Beautiful pattern called'Orchid' in a baby pink and fades into a pinkish brown. The transfer print is the pinkish brown color, and the set has gold accents. There's also hand painted, raised white dots on the flowers. These pieces are on the larger side. The pitcher is 11 1/2" high, the wash basin is 15 1/2" in diameter and 5 1/2" high and the commode is 13" in diameter(counting the lug handles) and 13" high. The pitcher has been broken and repaired on one side- see pic 2. It's a bad break, but the fix is pretty stable. The break is on the back of the pitcher(the front only has the hand painted raised, white dot accents) ... moreThe basin is in excellent condition, just one small surface ding on the side(about 1/4" round) and it looks like it's been painted. The commode is really cool! It's made up of the lid, small basin piece with center knob and openings under knob, and then the container itself. The lids of both pieces have pretty gold knobs/finials and the commode part has big gold lugs with a ray or wheel design. The middle piece to the commode has a hairline crack that runs all the way from the edge to the middle opening, but as with the repair on the pitcher, it seems quite stable. This is a beautiful three piece set of a large water pitcher and deep water basin bowl and we are thrilled to still have the soap dish with the drain insert and the lid. All of these pieces are identified on the bottom with the makers name. Of S.F. Co. S. The basin bowl is larger and measures 15 3/4″ diameter and is 5 3/4″ high. The pitcher is equally beautiful and stands 13″ high and from the handle to the spout is 11″ wide with the diameter of this pitcher being around 7 1/2″ diameter. The soap dish is 4 3/4″ diameter and with the lid on is 3 3/4″ high. All of the pieces are decorated with a detailed floral decoration and has gold highlights throughout. This set would date to the late 1890′s to the early 1900′s. Condition is excellent with some crazing in the interior glaze and appropriate wear on the gold. We are also giving you a fourth piece with this set it is the chamber pot, however there should be a lid on this piece, and the gold on that handle is worn from usage. Antique Victorian walnut marble top washstand or commode. The original finish is good but not great. It looks fine as is or you can refinish it. Offered is Antique French Louis XVI Commode Chest that has a Bombay Shape made of Beautiful Inlaid Fruitwood with fabulous Bronze and Ormolu decoration. The Chest has beautiful bronze legs and the ormolu decorating the bottom edge is intact across the bottom edge and the sides. The bronze decoration on each side is unique-one lady features a hat-the other has her coiled in a bun. This piece is in the original condition-there are some stress cracks on the sides. The green marble top is inset and there are no cracks or chips to it. It is 48 inches wide across the back and 20 inches deep and 37 1/2 inches tall.
