The three adjustable shelves each measure 9” in depth and 41 ¼” in width. This is truly one of the most beautiful Victorian Secretaries of its kind that we have had the privilege to offer. You will notice that there is some faint writing on the back of the piece(see the e-Bay photo) that probably indicates either the maker or the person for whom the piece was made. From what we can see it is signed M. Hall, Hannibal, MO. The details on this Secretary are absolutely wonderful! This beautiful Secretary is constructed of mahogany. And flame mahogany over a secondary wood and the details are exquisite! The bookcase top is graced with a beautiful open arch top with a lovely center foliate carved pedestal that is surrounded on each side with elegant applied scroll land leaf adornments. Antique Secretary Desk Slant Front Wood Mahogany Rockford Chair & Furniture LPU
Selling this wood secretary desk. This was made by the Rockford Chair and Furniture Co. Rockford ILL. I am not 100% certain, but the research I've done makes me believe it was made between 1920 and 1930, but I could be wrong. This desk measures about 32 1/4" wide by 40" tall. Measures about 17 1/2" deep when closed and 29 1/2" when opened. Has various signs of age/use. Such as light scratches, a chip out of the front foot and some rough marks in the one drawer. Please have a thorough look at the photos for details. I am not sure what wood it is but I believe it is mahogany? We do not have the key. Local Pick Up Only! Cash on pick up preferred.

This auction is for an antique SOLID MAHOGANY slant drop top desk. It is all mahogany drawers on all sides bottom etc. It has a good finish on most parts and there is only one spot that has some minor damage. The screws for the sliding hinge on the left side need to be repaired but since this desk top was made too be held with only one hinge it is still solid. There are 3 brass keyhole locks I think I may have a key. There are 6 drawers 2 in the desk and 4 on outside. In the one drawer there is a sticker that says this piece of furniture is solid mahogany and there is a shield symbol. If you know what the symbol is for the manufacturer. There is pigeon holes for storing letters misc in the desk. The brass pulls are all there. This desk isn't that heavy 75 lbs so it could be shipped by Greyhound or if you want by Fedex a lot more expensive. ... moreThe size is 44x22x34" with the top down the writing area is at 30" high. Antique American Cherry Hepplewhite Slant Front Desk. Pennsylvania, Ca. 1800 Probably central Pennsylvania. Circa 1800. The form consisting of a hardwood case resting on flared French bracket feet with four drawers(each having a lip moulded edge. Recessed brass escutcheon and wooden knobs) The verticals with an inlaid large panel of ebonized wood. The interior fitted with with a typical arrangement of pigeonholes and six drawers(three on either side) Each area separated by a strip of tiger maple veneer. A central prospect door opens to reveal an internal storage area. The wooden knobs on the drawers to the best of our knowledge are original. Antique Drop Front/Slant Front Secretary Desk- 1940's- Solid wood. Has Ball and Claw feet. And all original brass hardware. One brass drawer pull is broken, but I have the piece that broke off. It has three drawers, and inside of the drop down has three drawers, a door and six cubby holes. The drop-down locks, but I don't have the key for it. The dimensions are 43" high x 34" wide x 17" deep. With the drop-down open, it is 29" deep. It has a 2-1/2" x 3" section of the lower left front corner where a piece of the veneer is missing. It has a few age and wear scratches. The support hinge on the left side inside of the drop down is broken, but still sits level with the good one, so it does not sag. It may be able to be repaired, and if not, can be easily replaced. These flaws can all be seen in the photos.
