It seems to be all steel apart from the desktop itself, which is tan formica or something similar. So let's give you some measurements. First. From the floor to the desktop is about 30" Second, it is about 60" wide and 30" deep, and the knee space between the two banks of drawers is about 25" It has two pullout keyboard shelves, one on each side, three undivded drawers on the left, a shallow center drawe with four small compartments at the front, and two divided drawers on the right. The top one is fitted with a metal business form organizer, and the deeper one below has a single vertical divider that can be adjusted by sliding it forward or back. As the pictures show. It has some overal surface scuffing and scratching, with rust just beginning to show through, indicating it might be time to strip it and upcycle it into something a but brighter or more colorful. Or leave it just the way it is is if you're oging for the used and worn look. We are also including the chair we found it with. Although it is more like a dining chair than a desk chair. Lot Of 3 Mid Century Tanker Desks...Goldmine!
NOTE: Pictures show 4 desks.1 has been sold. What's left is 3 desks; 2 wood laminate top and 1 white top. The white top desk has the privacy panel. The others do not. One of the wood laminate tops has a stuck pull out writing tray on left side which would be an easy fix, I just haven't had time. NO KEYS FOR ANY DESKS. Here we have 3 great examples of the highly sought after tanker desk. These desks are indestructible and made of steel from top to bottom. These desks are in great condition considering the age, with typical scuffs and scratches but no dents. One of the wood laminate tops raises up about 1/8"1/4" when you pull on it as though there may be a screw or two missing. This is not noticed unless you are pulling up on the top while trying to move the desk. The laminate itself is in excellent condition. The white desk ... moretop seems to be some kind of hard plastic. I don't know if this is original but the white smooth top is heavy duty and very cool. If this lot doesn't sell I am going to keep it for myself. Use these desks as is and you will not be disappointed. Take the time to restore and you can sell for huge profit or just have a super heavy duty custom desk. These desks are old. Please ask questions before bidding if you are interested in anything specific. I have tried to be as straightforward as possible. 4 Vintage Tanker Desks
This auction is for a lot of four vintage steel tanker desks. Three of these are nearly identical with the tabletop measuring 30" x 45" The fourth desk is 30" x 60" tabletop. The three smaller desks are in very nice condition for their age. They have some normal wear and light scratches and scuffs. The bigger desk has a little more rust wear and tabletop wear. But it also has a side door feature that includes a spring-loaded typewriter table that extends out and rises up. One of the smaller desks has keys while the other three desks do not. The three smaller desks are made by ASE All-Steel Equipment Aurora. Illinois. The larger desk is made by Kendrick Furniture Co. Very sturdy and heavy desks. Pick up only and please make sure that you have at least two abled bodies to carry them out.
