Manitowoc, Wi. and is in very good vintage condition. It boasts five spacious storage drawers and a center pencil drawer. The top is a light mist green laminate. Top is 60"L x 30"W x 28"H. Knee-hole measures 27"w x 22"d. Desk retains original brushed chrome hardware handles. This desk does have some areas with scuffs/scratches and dents as shown, but is in overall nice physical condition. This desk will ship as shown on the palette and is being offered AS-IS. They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. Governor of Massachusetts Bay Colony. The desk is a reproduction made by the Maddox Table Co. of Jamestown, New York. This desk comes right out of the New England estate. The desk has those wonderful features most folks are looking for, such as all-wood drawers with dovetail corners, and clawed feet. The hardware and locks are the originals that came with the desk, not replacements. The desk was in my family for around 60 or so years, so the desk dates to at least 1950, and it may be older than that- I'm just not sure. The desk is the slant-front style, hinged at the bottom, so it opens up and the front lays flat to become the writing surface; the desk front can be locked. When the desk front is opened and lowered into the writing position, two arms come out automatically to support the writing surface. Inside the desk there are 3 small drawers, and holders for stashing letters and so forth. In the center of the opened desk, inside, there is a closed compartment with no lock; the compartment door is scratched. There are 3 drawers below the writing surface that extend almost the full width of the desk, and each one of them can be locked. This Antique School Desk is a wonderful piece of classroom history. Measuring 20 1/2" long and 14" wide. The desk top is made of a light wood, possibly birch. It has a spot for an inkwell and a carved indentation for a pencil. The desk top is attached to a sturdy steel cubbyhole opening which measures 19 1/2" long, 9" wide, and 5" deep and was used for storing books and school supplies. Restored Antique Art Deco 2-Blade Electric Desk Fan Young USA steel aluminum
This is a Young(Detroit. Mich. 2-wing(8-inch blade) electric desk fan that I think was manufactured in about the late 1930s. In the restoration all metal parts were stripped and bead blasted before premium enamel, all internal/external rubber was replaced, head wire was replaced with authentic reproduction wire and plug, and the aluminum blade and badge were polished. The motor and bearings were cleaned and lithium lubricated, and this one-speed fan runs smoothly. I made the cord a little longer than common as this fan did not originally come with a switch(on when plugged in, off when not) and I wanted to restore it original. Although not a large fan, it is from a time when products were not engineered to be disposable(it is pressed steel, cast zinc alloy, and aluminum) and weighs nearly 3 pounds. We are pleased to offer this wonderful antique desk. The desk is constructed of steel and has heavy brass(does not accept a magnet) around the bottom of the legs. The desk was produced by Art Metal and manufactured in Jamestown. NY. It is dated 11/26 in both the drawer and on the inner section of the desk. The desk retains the original, chocolate brown paint on the sides, front and the back. The top has no paint(maybe originally designed this way) and is a silver, steel color. Each exterior side of the desk features a large, stenciled, Art Deco styled medallion. I think this was probably added to the desk at some point and do not think it is original. It does give the desk a unique look, however. The desk was made for reading or writing. It does not have side storage but does have a large center drawer. A partial foil manufacturer's sticker ... moreis located inside the desk. In their most prosperous years, Art Metal won exclusive rights to furnish public libraries, offices, etc. with their noncombustible furniture. From what I can read on the partial sticker below the switch. This is called the CIRCULA. Its made by a company that has a EM in the middle of their logo, and they were located in Philadelphia. ring a bell? This fan stands 8 3/4 inches tall, and is 10" wide. It is as found with the exception of the replaced cord. The existing cord was shot and I needed to see the extent of any damages before listing. I also added a new grommet. It has a two speed switch(left- off- right. I assume center is off) The fan operates when switched to the right, and I believe this is the slower setting. The finish is really good for its age and looks like wood. its steel. It is missing one rubber foot. The blades are steel and have what looks like brass colored film over them, this film is pealing at the edges. The desk is constructed of steel and has heavy brass(does not accept a magnet) around the bottom of the legs. The desk was produced by Art Metal and manufactured in Jamestown. NY. It is dated 11/26 in both the drawer and on the inner section of the desk. The desk retains the original, chocolate brown paint on the sides, front and the back. The top has no paint(maybe originally designed this way) and is a silver, steel color. Each exterior side of the desk features a large, stenciled, Art Deco styled medallion. I think this was probably added to the desk at some point and do not think it is original. It does give the desk a unique look, however. The desk was made for reading or writing. It does not have side storage but does have a ... morelarge center drawer. A partial foil manufacturer's sticker is located inside the desk. In their most prosperous years, Art Metal won exclusive rights to furnish public libraries, offices, etc. with their noncombustible furniture. This item is a very neat piece that works great with no issues. It has a crackled paint on it as seen. But looks to have came out factory black. It has a pull out draw that you can dump the pencil ashes out and a wood bottom on it, the rest of it is a steel construction. This is an antique writing desk from the late 1920's- mid 1930's Produced by Simmons Co 32" wide 19" deep 30" tall w/decorative trim 33"tall All Steel Construction.In amazing condition for its age. Most of these desks did not survive in such great original condition. Green color is bright. NO RUST! Their are some points of wear and a couple dings right under drawer but seriously do not see them unless you are looking. Please see Photo I got a great shot of all flaws. You are bidding on an antique child' roll top desk and chair. The desk measures 24" W x 33" H x 15" deep. It has a drawer and a shelf under the roll top with 3 pigeon holes. The chair is 27 1/2" H x 14"W at the seat. It is adjustable in height with about 7" of travel. The desk weighs 26 1/2 lbs. and the chair about 7 1/2 lbs. I don't know the exact age of the chair. It was acquired from an elderly lady who claims it was her father's when he was a child. Very cool old steel desk with three cabinets. This is very large and heavy. The top desk has two parts. It bolts together on the left side of the middle cabinet. The top sheet of steel is very thick. There are five drawers in the desktop. The desk is 40 inches from the ground and 139 inches long(11 foot and 7 inches) The middle cabinet has 24 drawers. With three types of drawers. The middle row has unique fold down fronts. The left cabinet has 16 drawer all of the same type. Most of these have a cast iron/wood file support inside. The right cabinet has two very thick plate doors with shelves inside. Inside one of the drawers was a newspaper from 1952. The pictures did not come out too well. The color is chocolate. There is some wear spots in paint as well as time induced scratches. Etc. There are some small dents in the drawers. All the drawers ... morework well. No missing parts other than some of the interior file holders. Note the desk is sitting on three dollies. The middle dolly is shorter than the outer ones, so the middle of the desk is lower than the outer. This has to be local pickup only. Its way too heavy to ship. Antique Art Deco Streamline Steel Desk
Very cool streamline/ art deco design steel desk. I'm not an expert on this. But from the design elements I'm guessing this is from the 1930s or 1940s. The piece has been stripped of original paint and clear-coated. Very good condition, with one(purportedly) bullet hole. Dimensions are 60" long x 32" deep x 30" tall. This desk is very heavy. But can be disassembled for moving. I prefer to sell to a local person who can pick it up, but if you are willing to make all the arrangements and pay for preparation/shipping, I will work with you to arrange a mutually convenient time for your moving company to come and get it.
