I assume ... morethey did this so they would know which drawer went with which desk, and does not allude to who made the desk. I got this from my wife's uncles estate. He was 96 when he passed and he got this desk from his parents estate in Spokane Wa. when they passed. It is made from solid oak and on the ends of the top board you can see that the top is tongue and grooved. Very hard to show in the pictures. I don't know tiger oak from quarter sawn oak so you be the judge. There is some what appears to be grey paint on one corner of the top. please see pictures. Someone drove 2 finish nails about 2' long into the top of one of the legs. One leg has a chip out of it at the bottom about the size of a quarter and another leg has a little grey paint at the bottom of one side. See pictures. I have made no attempt to repair. Clean or restore the finish on this desk, it is in the condition it was given me in. All in all this desk is in great vintage condition given its age. Top of desk 36 1/2" wide x 24 1/2" deep and the desk top is 29 1/2" above the floor. Will ship via Greyhound Bus to a station of your choice for you to pick up. Antique Handel Era Mission Arts Crafts 8 Side Slag Glass Gothic Superb Desk Lamp
Here's an extremely ornate and beautiful circa early 1920s octagonal gothic style desk lamp. There are 8 wonderful early slag pieces on the top and bottom of the lamp. Encapsulating the light. This is absolutely stunning and is all original as I purchased the lamp 30+ years ago. One of the nicest and most unusual lamps ive ever seen. The original lamp hardware was made by Weber Patents 250 w universal. The lamp is unmarked or perhaps I'm completely missing the makes mark. Heavy lamp weighing 13.4 lbs. The fire slag has beautiful reds, oranges and amber color and is absolutely stunning in the natural light. The solid base is wondrous and has some extremely ornate detail, covered in fleur de lis style designs. Lamp measures roughly 25" tall from bottom of base to top of ornate finial. The shade itself measures roughly 12.5" ... morewide by roughly 12" high and the base of lamp is roughly 6.75" wide. There's one small break/chip in the slag on top of the lamp as seen in the top shade flipped upside down image. The lamp disassembled quite easily as seen in the last picture. DESK: Original beautiful MISSION. ARTS and CRAFTS large desk with Trademark. The trademark is a ruby color branded Globe with the wording. trade GORHAM mark" Below globe is. INSPECTION NO. 2, letter is faded) June 29 1921. Trade marks after many hours searching was found located on inside back of desk behind the lower left drawer. Gorham in 1921 made a museum desk with sterling assuming of course this is the same Gorham Desk size is: 72"wide. 38" deep, 30" high. The desk is quite large to say the least! Has 8 drawers(1 is for filing) and 2 pull out writing surfaces. These are all approximate 25" to 29" deep. It seems they go forever! The"all" original knobs and feet are art deco in style and solid brass. All knobs have original screws but one. The knops also have a square nails but the the one. There ... moreare steel rods such as under the middle drawer. This original beautiful desk even with it's flaws makes a statement. In a most recent move a piece of veneer about 1 1/2" x 2" was caught inside knee hole on right side in middle at bottom edge.there are 2 other smaller places that I am not sure when they occurred. One on bottom left drawer and on right bottom end side. There are some slight scratches on desk top. All things considered this Mission desk over 90 years old is quite beautiful and very useful. A beautiful finish and unusual fixtures compared to the dozens of other arts& crafts library tables I've seen online. I especially like it because the top has a"recessed" look and doesn't overhang the legs as most others do. The bottom shelf is very strong, too. I found this piece at Adam Monroe Antiques. A dealer on Chicago's antique district on Belmont Avenue in the late 1980s. I'm not sure, but it looks like it has been refinished as the wood is beautiful and not as banged up as others I've seen online. I think the drawer pulls and casters are original. Although I am no specialist(request close-up photos if you want) The drawer pulls look to be copper, and I've not seen another library table with casters. It has two large drawers(15.5" wide x 24.25" deep x 4.25" high, interior measurements) and casters(wheels not shown, but installation is easy, just insert into holes in legs, see other pics) It has a full maker label underneath(and I think a model number, see pics) Condition is very good overall. I believe it to haywood/ wakefield because of the woven caned seat and so strongly resembles their mission style furniture and they did produce school desks of all styles. HAND MADE MISSION STYLE DESK/SHELF CLOCK, 6"H X 4.25"W, CEDAR SEE DETAILS
BACKGROUND: This nice little“Mission Style” desk or shelf clock was made by a person who worked with me. For my wife. That was probably 8 or 9 years ago. She kept it on a shelf above her desk for a long time. We are both about 70 and decided to“downsize. Many things have to go, and this is one of them. D ESCRIPTION: The overall dimensions of the clock are 6” tall. 4.25” wide, and 2.25” deep. I am not an expert, but it seems to be made of cedar. The wood is quite hard and has only a few minor nicks. There is an inlay of light wood on each side of the piece that you can see in the photos. It weighs just over 11 ounces. The clock ran well for years. And I bought two small batteries, put one in and saved the other. When we decided to sell it, I tried the other battery, and the clock did not run. So earlier today, I went and bought a single battery ... moreto make sure it worked. The battery cost $4+. I inserted it, and the second hand began to move, but unusually quickly. It turns out the clock runs very fast. Perhaps twice the speed it should. I almost decided to get rid of it, and then thought that perhaps someone would be able to open the clock up and fix it, or perhaps buy another clock(possibly for very little) that would fit in the 2 3/8” recess. The craftsmanship that went into the woodwork is clear from the photos. And it would be a waste to throw it away. However, I at least need to recover a few dollars on the new battery. Here is a nice antique solid oak mission style desk probably dating back to the late teen or early 1920’s. It’s a combination of solid oak and quarter sawn oak. The desk is in good solid condition but is missing its drawer. It measures 44-1/8” long. 27-1/4” deep and 30” high. The legs measure 2-1/4” square and the drawer opening measures 15” wide by 5” high. The finish is worn and it does have a little bit of paint on it. It’s been sitting in father’s barn for at least the past 20 years. And would clean up nicely. It was original to the estate and got it directly from an 84 year old decendant. I have not cleaned it and am selling it as found. The desk is solid, straight, and heavy. This beautiful quarter-sawn oak desk(c. 1905) has its original warm tiger oak finish. It’s crafted with the unique notched circle cut-out detailing which is characteristic of furniture from the Arts& Crafts era. Yet the lines have a clean, modern silhouette. The desk is finished on all four sides and can be placed anywhere in a room. The patina-ed copper fittings on the drawers are also original, as well as the label, which is still on the bottom of the desk drawer. It was obviously very well cared for and despite its age, is in very good condition. The piece measures 29” high x 42” wide X 26” deep.

Vintage Arts& crafts Heintz Bronze with Sterling Overlay- 3 Piece Desk Set Up for auction is a vintage Arts& crafts period Heintz 3 piece desk set with silver overlay. The inkwell has the glass insert that has a very minor crack on the lip and some manufacturing flaws. It measures 4" long and 2 1/2" high. The calendar measures approximately 5 1/2" long and 2 3/4" wide and 1" high. The blotter measures approximately 3" long X 2 1/2" X 1" All pieces appear to be in good condition but show some areas where the patina has rubbed off from handling. Please see photos for condition.
