So there are stress fractures all shown in the photos. This French foot chest is also very practical for daily use being 43 1/4" high and 40" wide by 20" deep. Just removed from New York City Estate. We have a pleasure to offer you this beautiful high quality antique French 19th century leather top desk. The piece is sleek, stylish and most impressive. Size is perfect for any setting, quality of work will enhance any room! Top surface is covered with dark(black) leather. Edged with gold tooled border(beautiful, please see the photos) Leather is"framed" within a mahogany border. Edges of the top are sealed with a beautiful dore bronze band. Desk has no drawers, and is done all around, hence could be used as a center table or as a console against the wall. Back of the desk looks the same way as the front. Beautiful brown colored wood is covered with bronze mounts. Bronze mounts line all the edges, corners of the desk, even the grooves of the column legs. Very rare French desk telephone. Appears to date to the very early 1900’s. This phone appears to be in good shape. At some point it has been cleaned up. Restored, and a dial and ringer box were added to the phone(in a very stylish manner) parts were added to the ringer box to make the phone compatible with pulse dialing. I plugged this phone into my wall and it works fine. Dials, rings, and you can talk on it! It appears to have all new cloth cords, I do see some chipped pieces of Bakelite on the back hand piece handle. What an awesome looking antique Phone! Antique library desk table. In good used condition. I purchased this table from an estate. I am not an expert but I believe it is Oak. It measures 49" long by 35" wide by 31.5" high. As you can see in the pictures beautiful carved detail of lions and dolphin feet. On one end by lion it needs a little sanding. A double pen rack and the whole item guarded by two proud looking Setters(or they could be Labrador, Retrievers etc) I estimate that it dates to around the late 19th Century. This imposing piece measures 300mm x 200mm and is around 150mm tall. It weighs 2.7kg. The ceramic inserts for the wells are missing(they are fairly standard around 35mm-40mm across their top) and the top surface has become dull with what some describe as"patina" and a coppery greening in one spot. Antique Early 1900's French Partners Desk - Very Ornate and Rare
Up for sale is what I believe to be an early 1900's vintage French Partner's Desk. All original(except for a refinish) Done in Country French/Art Nouveau style. The desk came with a one-page signed appraisal from May 10, 1982 showing a value of $7500.00. I had a current full appraisal report done on the piece(including a Certificate of Authenticity) on May 27th of this year which shows a fair market value of $3200.00 and an Insurance value of $3840.00. I was unhappy with some of that appraiser's findings and disagreed with some of her opinions, so I also brought the desk to"Antiques Roadshow" here in Albuquerque in July. Their"Expert Appraiser" had a much different opinion of the piece, but still valued it in the $3500.00 to $4000.00 range. Unfortunately, the Roadshow absolutely prohibits giving anything in ... morewriting, so the only proof of an appraisal or value given from them is if you get on TV(which I did not) I think you'll agree, however, that his opinions of the piece are much more likely than the opinions in the written report(read-on) Differences: Well. First off is a big one.The appraisal report I have states that the wood is Satin Walnut whereas the Expert from the Roadshow clearly stated the primary wood was mahogany. I'm no wood expert, but I can certainly take close-up pics and/or follow instructions to help you determine the wood type. Secondly, the appraisal report states that the original desk dates to the early mid 19th century(1800-1850 or so) and the Art Nouveau carvings as well as the"checkered" inlays on the top were added later. The Roadshow expert strongly disagreed with this stating that the entire desk dated from about 1910 and was all-original. Lastly(and what makes me most suspicious about the appraisal report) the appraiser thought that the inlays on the top were actually put there as chess boards. She even mentions in the report"Later Art Nouveau carvings were added to the desk as well as two chess boards on the top of the desk, and

Measures approximately 6 x 4.5 inch x 6 inch high Good Antique/Vintage condition the figure and the post are a little loose and can I expect be tightened from the underside. I did not want to remove the original green lining from the base to do it myself. Some very small sign's of oxidisation in areas but certainly nothing that detracts or is not consistent with age. Superb Antique Style Cylinder Desk in the French Style
This is an amazing looking cylinder desk with superb brass cherubs and moldings. Not really sure were it was made but I bought it in England. I would say its around 30 years old, it has a little wear and a few small marks but apart from that its in very good condition. The cylinder has marquetry inlay and runs up and down fine. This would be a copy of a very expensive French cylinder Desk which would have been made in the 1800s.but has all the same details and is extremely heavy. It comes in 3 parts so its easier to move.
