The top is item#11-9224 in the#225 finish and the bottom is item#11-9223 in the#225 finish. The secretary can be found on page#131 in the 80th edition of the Ethan Allen Treasury of American Traditional Interiors. Ethan Allen describes their Georgian Court line as having. Intricate details crafted by skilled aritsans in fine cabinet woods such as solid Cherry and carefully selected veneers. Georgian Court accents offer pure traditional styling of exceptional beauty and value to provide lasting delight and satisfaction to all who want to enhance their own homes with the graceful designs of our great heritage. The secretary base measures 36.5" wide x 41" high x 19" deep and features five drawers and a drop front with lock with key. There are cubbies inside the desk base as well as two drawers. The drawers are very clean inside. This secretary was manufactured in January. 1980 and is in excellent condition overall with a few exceptions. There are light dings and one more noticeable ding on the front of the secretary where it drops down(see pics#10, 11) There are also a few tiny chips low on the front two feet and one chip on the very back side of the secretary top. It is not very noticeable when it is against the wall, unless you are looking at the back(see pic#12) The Ethan Allen name is stamped in the top drawer and the date as well as the item number are stamped on the back. Ethan Allen manufactures high quality investment grade furniture that can be passed down through generations. This listing is for a Fantastic Chippendale Style walnut( I think and am not 100% sure) and fancily veneered vintage Drop Front Secretary Desk with Ball and claw Feet and shell style carvings. 36 inches in overall height. About 16 inches overall depth at widest point of legs and 22 inches overall width again at widest point of legs. Brass lock and hardware but no key. Brass hinges and other hardware. Exotic veneer work. Two drawers. With hardware on one drawer broken and missing in part. Should not be very tough to find replacement hardware. I might be able to assist the buyer in doing so. Drop down door reveals a writing surface roughly 19 inches wide and 14 inches in depth with two drawers and 5 compartments worked in the back. Very elegant. Rare Antique Coromandel Drop Front Inlaid Writing Cabinet 19th Box
This is a rare and exquisite writing cabinet made from coromandel wood that originates in India. There is a large drawer on the lower portion of the piece. The piece has doors that open that reveal another drawer as well as a drop front writing surface. There is carving on the doors and the trim. It also has intricate ox bone inlay on the front and on the inside. There are ox bone knobs as well. The drawer on the front has metal inlay which is likely brass. The inside of the doors are lined with fabric and there is fabric over the writing slope. The doors have area for storage as they are pretty deep. There is a shelf behind the drop front door on the inside. The cabinet is 15 ½ inches tall and 14 5/8 inches wide. It is 7 ½ inches deep. There are nails on the bottom and on the sides and they are hand-made. The drawers were made ... morewith dove-tail construction. The piece is quite heavy weighing 16 lbs 6 ounces. We date this to the early 19 th century. Circa 1820. There are cracks as can be expected with a piece this age. The front doors both have cracks in them. With the one on the left being larger. There are two of the decorative ox bone pegs missing, one from each side. Incredibly we do not note any of the inlay, brass or ox bone missing. The fastener on the inside of the left door does not function. There is a piece of trim that has been repaired on the right front door. One of the pegs to open the drop front door is missing. The fabric on the inside of the drop front door has a split in it where the sections of the door connect. There is ware to the other fabric. Up for auction is an authentic L& JG Stickley desk. 613 with a good original finish. This is a beautifully constructed desk with through tenons, figured quartersawn oak and a nice original finish. The desk has not been refinished or otherwise messed with, and I have not even waxed it, so NO briwax, pledge, paste wax, orange oil, Old English, etc. has touched this desk. If you buy it and want me to wax it, I will, but I wanted the future owner to have the option of an unmolested finish. The desk is in very good condition. But still has some damage commensurate with age and use. After a very thorough going over, I have found and/or photographed the following: Loss of finish on the top from a spill and drink ring. That should not show after a good waxing. A small chip on the lower right side of the drawer. A medium-sized chip to the top ... moreleft of the desk drop front and top corner of the desk. A blue stain from writing on the interior of the desk. A long crack on the right side panel of the desk. It also looks like the front of the desk was snapped apart some years back and re-glued using hide glue. The only evidence is a missing screw on the right side of the hinge. And some projection of the interior wood on the dropfront panel. Some tiny flecks of paint and/or finish loss where flecks have been removed. Note: I have been as careful as possible in my description. But please look carefully at all photos and make your own assessment. Old Vintage D'Esterel Glass Perfume with Original Drop Front Presentation Box
For your consideration is a vintage perfume bottle with its very nice presentation box. This is D'Esterel by D'Esterel. The bottle is empty. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inches tall x 1 1/2 inches wide. The entire bottle is made up of rows of panels that are slightly raised all around the bottle. The glass stopper is square with the same panels rimming all the edges and when looking down on the bottle from above.the edges look scalloped from all the panels. Bottom of bottle has“Bottle made in France” embossed into the glass. No damages to bottle or stopper.both could be cleaned up! The small silver foil label on the front of the bottle has damaged.someone obviously spilled some of the contents and it faded out and is now unreadable. But.it is firmly attached still to the front of the bottle. The box is very nice.sturdy. White faux ... moreleather look and has gold around the edges on the top of the box. The d'Esterel name is easy to read on the front. And, this is a lovely drop down front lid box. makes the presentation very appealing! At least it appealed to me. Inside of box has forms on each side in gold to help position the bottle. Put the bottle in place, raise the front flap, and the top lid captures it to close the box. How nice is that? Box has stains, scraps, tiny tears and pulls. but its structural sound. Please view all the pix so you will see for yourself all the details. Beautiful Primitive Antique Drop Front Desk
This is a phenomenal piece of furniture.Two supports slide out on either side to give the desktop stability. So it is not only beautiful, but extremely functional. The piece has one minor flaw: the right drawer is not original. The original one fell out of my truck and I had to have a new one made but they look practically identical. The piece seems to be pine and cherry-it is so old, it's very difficult to tell. The wood has a gorgeous, warm patina. Wood hardware was replaced but is a perfect match; rest of hardware is original. Danish Modern Cado Royal Wall System Unit Teak Drawers for Drop Front Cabinet
A pair of drawers from the Cado Royal system. They come from a basket weave cabinet that is sadly damaged. Add these to your wall unit or use on their own! In very good vintage condition. The only damage is under one of the drawers, a nick that's 0.5' long. Not visible at all when in use(last photo) I added photos of both ends of the drawers to better show the good condition. C. 1770-90 Item# 120411EIU26 This listing is for a Fine Chippendale Period Ball and Claw Slant Lid Desk. Salem or Boston Area, Massachusetts circa 1770-90. It features wonderful dense grain solid board mahogany lid, rabbeting on both sides to complete the horizontal frame, lifting smoothly over replaced brass hinges and falling on two sliding mahogany lopers with original brass knobs to reveal a large writing surface and gallery of nine small drawers and four scalloped cubby holes. The drawers are each inscribed for where each belongs in the scheme of the desk, in pencil 1-9, and each is hand dovetailed with chamfered bottoms rabbeting into the drawer frame. The center drawer is a wonderful sunk 18-lobed shell carved design flowing into the two ... moredrawers below it in a form common in Massachusetts case pieces, each drawer face carved out of a solid piece of mahogany. The case is crafted of solid single boards of mahogany along each side. Dovetailed into the parallel-grained pine case bottom and through-dovetailed at the top. The back is constructed of three large pine boards, behind which a pine bar perpendicular to the boards to support the top to the bottom, dovetailed at both ends with a screw through the bottom. Carved solid molding runs along the bottom of the case with an applied scalloped skirt pendant at the center, reinforced from the back with rounded glued blocking. Each drawer is graduated. Each below larger proportionally to the one above, sliding in and out of the beaded frame. The white pine frame side rails are beaded on their top inner surfaces, dovetailed at the front and backs, the bottom boards running perpendicular to the case, chamfered along the edges and rabbeting into the frame. Antique Drop Front Secretary Desk Cabinet Rare
been told it could be late 1800's-early 1900's.I really dont know.i also am unsure if this is actually considered a desk. the lower shelf folds up along with the lower part of the legs fold in. it could use a nice cleaning and a little tender loving care. prefer this be picked up as i dont want to be responsible for shipping this. if you have a question i will answer it to the best of my ability. thanx for looking!
