They've been in air conditioned storage since that time. These were commonly used by the medical profession. They are rare. That's for sure. The finish of the paint is still in remarkable condition, though they still need a thorough cleaning. Many of the pictures show the shiny surface of the paint, which was manufactured by DuPont. The metal surface was prepared and sprayed with a rust proofer by the Parker Rust Proof Co, with their product called Bonderite. From the"How to care for SIMMONS FURNITURE guide" SIMMONS FURNITURE protected and enhanced with Du Pont satin-finished HI-BAKE DULUX. SIMMONS Steel furniture is specially finished with Hi-Bake DULUX for outstanding beauty and durability. DULUX is an exceptionally hard finish with excellent moisture resistance that protects against rust or corrosion. With proper care. SIMMONS furniture remains beautifully new for years. Overall condition is good. The drawers are in good condition. With the top drawers showing a little rust on the inside. The second drawer down has only a small amount of rust showing, and the bottom drawer shows no rust. The drawer guides could use some graphite to restore the smooth fluid movement of opening and closing. Each piece has it's own forgivings. I tried my best to display in detail the extent of the abrasions. Dents and scratches. Examine the pictures carefully. If you need larger pics, or perhaps a different view, contact me and I'll send you the requested pics asap. The footstool's fabric is intact- no rips. Tears, holes or cracks and the material is soft and pliable. Someone removed what appears to be shipping tape- and that managed to remove some of the color in a small area which is more noticeable in the pictures than in person. Possibly Edwardian era desk or library table is in excellent condition. I have owned it since 1980 and have not altered the finish. Although it may have been refinished prior to my ownership. This desk is very sturdy. The dimensions are 40" long X 25 1/4" deep X 28 1/4" high. Nice chunky brass hardware is complete and original. This desk is constructed of solid wood.no veneers.which I think is flame mahogany. The dovetailed drawers are constucted of what appears to be bird's eye maple bottoms(which is a very high quality wood to be used on drawer interiors) and oak sides. There is one center drawer and two deeper. More narrow drawers on the right side. Drawers all work smoothly. There is a platform at the lower level of the desk. The four feet are carved animal-type. On each side is a scroll sort of carving. The top is ... morein nice condition but I have not shown it in the photos because my TV sits atop it and I cannot lift it off. This listing is for a beautiful little clock made by Seth Thomas. It is the"Tudor" model. Made in the first decade of the 1900's. It was my great uncles who passed on about thirty years ago. It is all original. But I do not have a key and so never saw it run. It is a petite 9x6x5. Apart from the usual signs of age. This little beauty is in wonderful shape! The inlay on the case still looks great. The signed, 4 inch enameled dial is bright, and the beveled edge glass is gorgeous. The hands, pendulum, brass feet, everything is original. This is an antique mahogany table that was used in a hallway to hold the telephone and the big telephone books that would be placed in the open areas on either side. There is a center drawer with two brass knobs. The table can be used as a small desk in a child's room as well. The top shows marks of age. And there are marks on top that show that there was a connecting piece on top, maybe to hold letters. This desk/table is sold as is; you can best decide if it need refinishing or polishing. 1922 SILVER & EBONY WOOD TRAY DRESSING TABLE DESK VANITY SET SOLID WOOD ANTIQUE
Ebony wood tray with silver corners and a back bar for propping up business/calling/appointment cards. Measures 11.75 x 7.75 inches. Stamped'EBONY' to the base. All four corners have vacant cartouches and are hallmarked Birmingham 1822, maker's mark J.S&Co, all fixing pins are present, they have some rubbing and one has a missing fragment to one of the corners. The ebony has two subtle hairline cracks to the base that do not affect the stability of the tray, otherwise it is in perfect condition with no nibbles, knocks or scratches, it has a very high polish. Antique Primitive Store/Postal Counter c.1880 Presenting this beautiful solid mixed wood unique one-of-a-kind primitive country store/Post Office counter from an old country store in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This was used as the postal counter. There is a one large and sturdy drawer with the original pulls. It once held two drawers. The smaller one has been removed to allow for chair space. This is made mixed woods of oak. Maple, pine and poplar. The top is tongue and groove maple and the sides and back are beaded tongue and groove. The counter has been cut down in length from its original size. It makes a great desk for tight spaces and also makes a fabulous statement as sofa table or entrance table. Below the writing slope is another compartmentalized hand dovetailed boxwood drawers to store additional sewing materials. The lid features the original working lock and key. Beneath the sewing table drawer there is a pull out sewing box drawer constructed with boxwood and is in original condition. The front and the back of the box are also inlaid with floral satinwood. The table stands on solid turned walnut supports terminating in splayed legs with the original mug castors. A turned stretcher connects bots sets of legs for extra stability. Important American Victorian Mechanical Desk Games Table Antique Figural
Offered today for your consideration! A very important American Victorian mechanical desk/ games table. A very rare find made by the Brushke Furniture Co. In Chicago. A one of a kind survivor this piece is both a parlor or games table the is convertible to a writing desk. The top swings up and the desk portion emerges for the center of the piece as if by magic! Tis is Victorian ingenuity! The piece is carved with faces in the renaissance revival style and is made from beautiful tiger oak. The center desk portion lifts and descends by a gear and cable mechanism. This is one of the most unusual pieces of American Victorian and we are thrilled to offer it! Note the ornately carved legs and figures at the center which hide the desk and mechanisms. It was made in Chicago circa 1860 to 1880. There is a very light stamp bearing the name Brushke ... moreon the inside of the lift up drawer lid that is visible when the desk is open. The piece is very solid and in over all good condition and would be as usable today as it was 150 years ago. There is an age crack at the top of the letter compartment that pops up. The wood that comprises this appears to be slighter wood. Perhaps Douglas Fir. Tis is great opportunity to acquire an heirloom quality piece of American Victoriana. The desk when closed measures 38 x 32 inches by 29 inches tall. When the desk pops up it adds about 18 to 20 inches in height. Vintage Antique Brass ART NOUVEAU Gooseneck Table Desk Lamp Satin White Ruffle
This is a beautiful Vintage working Underwriters Laboratories Art Nouveau table desk lamp with brass stem neck. Brass leaf color metal lily pad base, and high quality white glass ruffle shade. This lamp is 15" tall and is in great condition. It's missing one of three screws that holds the shade but that can be easily replaced at your convenience or preference but not necessary. The shade is a thin delicate satin glass with great ruffle detail. The shade itself is of great quality and craftsmanship and in perfect condition. I accept PayPal.
