Antique Heywood Wakefield Eclipse Industrial School Desk Cast Iron Legs ink well
Antique Heywood Wakefield Eclipse Industrial Machine Age School Desk with Cast Iron Legs The adjustable legs are marked Eclipse H W as shown. They are easily removable. The desk measures 21" wide x 13" deep x 23-29" high as you can adjust the height. The feet have two screw holes per foot(two feet per leg) and four mounting holes at the top. The wooden desk top is 6" high. The desk top has an ink well hole(no ink well) and a cubby under the top. The wood has darkened with age-well over a century. I believe, since Heywood-Wakefield formed by the merger of Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company in 1897. The wood shows its age and great character with lots of marks. Paint, and ink splatter from use over the years.The iron has oxidized some, especially toward the bottom. I don't see any cracks, breaks, repairs, or missing ... morepieces. It has some splitting of the wood inside the cubby and outside on the bottom corner as a result of the legs being screwed in. Please see the last picture. To reduce shipping costs we will remove the legs from the wooden top.

Antique adjustable child's Desk and Chair made by Chandler Co. of Boston Massachusetts- wood with cast iron legs- chair leg marked with patent dates Nov 14. 1893 and June 9, 1893. This desk and chair set needs restoration. Both the desk and the chair indicate they are adjustable on cast iron bases. The desk is suppose to adjusts and the seat can adjust as well- though this old antique school desk and chair does need refurbishing. The desk has slates of loose wood on top and bottom, and one leg of desk is not affixed to bottom. It's possible that one leg on desk will be removed for shipping. Though this desk set has been in storage for many year. The bent wood chair is in solid condition- Both desk and chair do show age with scratches, scuffs, nicks and minor dings and digs. The Cast Iron base of the chair is marked"CHANDLER" ... morealong with the patent dates from the late 1800's. The cast iron base of chair and legs of desk features holes around the base for securing it to the floor if desired. The set overall is in original condition. ANTIQUE Early 1900's Wood & Metal Childs SCHOOL DESK- Photography Prop ~RARE~
For auction is a sweet little antique student school desk with a pull out drawer underneath. I was told it is probably from the early 1900's. But I'm not quite sure. It is very heavy and constructed of both wood and metal, which I believe is painted cast iron because of its weight. The metal has surface rust throughout and the top wooden part of the desk does have some movement. It appears the connecting bar underneath has snapped and will need to be soldered. But overall, this little school desk looks nice, even the way it is. The wood is still in great shape. Hard to come by one like this. Would make a nice photography prop for youngsters. It measures@24.5" high to the top of the seat(the back of chair) and the seat itself sits at@11.5" The wood tray measures@ 20" x 14" at the widest points. The brown-eyed schoolgirl doll is dressed in a Victorian style dress complete with ruffles and button down front. From the top her bonnet to her seat she measures approximately 10-1/2" and weighs 1 lb. 2 oz. She sits on a wooden seat behind a desk. The desk top opens. The desk measures approximately 12-1/4" long x 7-3/4" wide x 8-1/2" high and is heavy weighing 4 lbs 2 oz. The desk is made of wood with an ornate metal base. I think this is Vintage; however, judging from the hardware used(screws and nuts) it's not that old, maybe 50s to 80s, I don't know. No major Visible Defects. THE TOP DESK WILL ADJUST UP AND DOWN WITH THE METAL SIDE BARS AND BACK AND FORTH. THE SEAT HAS A NOTICEABLE CRACK BUT STILL SOLID.
